Sometimes in my Dreams...

The darkness sometimes calls to me, it speaks in my dreams. It bekons me to come closer, Just to feel it's rush. To feel the power it claims to have. But I've watched others as they've gone to the darkness to feel it's rage. It made them promises that turned to lies. Promises of love, happiness, POWER... and no more PAIN. Sweet serenity. Those people accepted its offerings. As I observed from afar, it took them whole, and it ripped themand consumed them, and it molded them into its own desire, then let them free; no longer the same person, but different. Mustn't let anyone else know though! Must keep it on the low. Noone sees the change, only the most perceptive notice the CHANGE. And now it's my turn... They say they won't harm me. The darkness just wants to say hello. It sees my hidden sadness, and my hidden hurt. I'm already getting over it, but it claims that it can help. All I have to do, is come up to the darkness, and offer it my soul and heart, All suffering will be gone and I'll be one within the dark. My heart and soul belong to someone though, ---- is his name, I try to run and hide from it, I don't like this dangerous game. It sees that I'm in love, and not so easily fooled, so it tries a different approach, to suck me into its black pool. It begs me to come near,time and time again, it's wants to touch my hand, it wants to be my friend. Just trust me it pleads, A friend is all it needs, It mourns and cries, and it grieves. You won't harm me? I ask. You promise to leave me be? Of course, it replied, I'd never lie you see. Doubtful and nieve, I fall into its trap, One step forward into a pool of drowning water, One more to my death. Suddenly I feel, as it covers me in black, an intoxicating high, and I hear a deafening snap. I wake up in my room, feeling just quite fine, not sure what had happened, to this weary soul of mine.*
