Phantom.
Waiting in a void waiting for the end
this curtain call will never end
a shroud of red closes the light from behind
the empty room his mind drifts to the past
how it all makes no sense
his downfall in vanity
a costly price for revenge
no love behind his mask
unwillingly he suffers
a phantom in dread
he wished for an ending
hiding in shadows far down below
One night in the distance he heard a voice
curious he listened it drew him nearer
he looked on in despair mixed with longing
just to listen to remember and be there
he drew nearer and looked on from above
she was singing his song so well
he clapped slowly from above as she looked up
safe behind his mask he pays thanks
lifted by his work she sang so well
the two became friends
creating on new songs
they became close
fate drew near
to steal it away
as the opera began
burning in hellish flames
hiding in the shadows below
in his underworld refuge
she followed him down below
let me stay with you
he kissed her in the darkness
thinking could you ever care
please dont take away this mask
