Spring is coming and the days are growing longer and while I prefer the long fall nights, I do love the spring. Flowers will soon poke their heads out of the ground. Trees will start budding out anew, birds are nesting and the bees are lazily buzzing around my rosemary bush.
It feels like life starts over again in the spring and the sins of the winter are erased by the warm breezes that blow. I have so much that I want to do this year. So much that needs to be done. Where to start?
My moms peacocks are in full bloom and ready for action.
Hopefully my colors will shine as brightly as theirs this year.
The winds are strong and the rain is beating down. The thick smell of smoke is everywhere from the fires that are burning, still out of control, miles and miles away from here. It seeps into everything. They were hoping that the rains would help with the fires but many feel that it is not enough. Because the fires are in the swamp, it is feared that they could burn for months if they reach the peat in the ground.
It is warmish for a February day. Upwards towards 66+ degrees. I have the window near me open so I can hear the birds. I may need to close it tho if the smoke smell doesn't dissipate soon.
I should be cleaning up a bit but with this pneumonia still lingering it is hard to do anything. Moving around too much causes a terrible coughing jag. I have belly dancing practice tonight with my troop. We are hoping to participate in the East Coast Belly Dancing Classic. If we are to do this however, we have a lot of work to do. Perhaps if the whole troop can't do it together I will participate on my own. I have a great routine where I dance on top of three wind glasses. It is difficult and a bit dangerous as the glasses could break but it is a lovely thing to see. My mom can't watch me do it as she lives in fear that the glasses will break. I suppose that is part of the mystique of it. Ahh well. If you can't take a few chances at my age....what can you do.
