Has anyone noticed there are a lot of fishing profiles popping up on this site? These under aged women and men that message you telling you how hot you are, or trying to sexually role play with you?
For one thing, I will add and talk to practically anyone, but under aged people get the G rated version of me or nothing at all. Another thing I suspect some of the profiles are really other members trying to get dirt on other members...
Do people actually go for that? I am really very open, and strait forward. What you see is what you get.
Enough of that, how is everyone? Yes I mean you, the one reading this, how are you?
A lot of them are bait for others, it seems. A few are very outspoken about members on the site who have had a past of being either perverts, or had a criminal history to do with sexual offenses. It's far from the way to go about having these people removed, though no one ever accused these people of being intelligent I suppose.
Yeah, I have noticed that as well. It's super duper creepy and awkward to me. If I talk to someone under the age of eighteen, they get the kid treatment from me. I don't even cuss.
People should always make a point to check the age of another member before responding at all.
The bait thing I don't buy, I think it is just for some people to start drama with other members. After all if they really aren't under aged what exactly can any admin do? Nothing that's what. The members putting up these profiles are simply trying to start or continue online drama. If someone is truly under aged the admins will intervene. Most of the time parents will make it known to the admins as well.

I agree it is very creepy, I make sure to tell them right away how I feel about it and if they persist I report them. I haven't had to yet, thank God. They get the message pretty fast and most stop messaging me altogether.
I have a lot of under aged children in my Mentorship and I make it a safe environment for them.
I agree with your theory. I also add that there are people who create, and delete profiles on rotation, and they are always coming up with new "issues" that they suffer from, and phish for sympathy, or they are clearly seeking to impress, or intimidate others with exceedingly far-reaching claims.
I have seen one profile recently that had nothing on their profile, and only one journal entry, and it said "Would anyone care if I died?" Really? WTF? I have caught a few members creating secondary profiles to repackage themselves after failing to draw any adoration, or sympathy in post on their main account. On facebook I have detected people creating new profiles to post positive support for the most unintelligible, irrational, obviously fabricated crap I have ever read.
The thing such people fail to understand is that certain syntax, and cadence signatures betray them a large percent of the time. A person that is a lousy speller, or a person with lousy grammar will eventually slip up and provide a tell.
So indeed I support your suspicions of 'Mole' activity. I have had people 'coincidentally' pop up in my message folder trying to engage me in conversation shortly after I ditched a member.. or a member cut out on me after I failed to respond in their desired manner. I have had members create a secondary profile just to tell me off (posing as a "friend" to the member I told off).
Besides all that.. am dandy.. I also assure you that while there are some conniving individuals on this site (and most other sites) there are also many examples of sincere people who have actual personalities, and social aptitude that don't have to dupe people into being interested in them.
I agree with you there are a lot of people on this site that make secondary phishing profiles. That really bothers me. I know a family on this site that recently joined and because of the people and their phishing profiles these people are treated as suspect because they all live together. What I once would have thought sweet is now sullied by these few bad apples that make it difficult for the rest of us to just meet new people and exchange ideas.
I almost left myself because of the craziness that has been going on for what has turned into years. Most of my friends did leave. It's just tragic. This site was so creative and free only a few years ago. Sure we had a few people throwing fits here and there but nothing this big or this drawn out.
This place has become a hostile environment and that makes me sad. :,(
I just got contacted a fishing profile I think I know who it was too because I was harassed by a certain group for a while. then they came in as anons and a second later after they realized I had anon chat off they sent in a low level "13" year old with no pictures of herself in there. I gave her a ten and then she said "DeathGirl: yep can i ask you if you are boy or girl i couldnt get to yuor profile"
Are you kidding me? I know that is a lie. First they were extremely glitchy and kept signing in and out. I suspect it was just one of the trolls with a dozen profiles open with different browsers. They really think I don't know how this site works by now? I am a fast learner.
I'm doing well and yes i have noticed that one as well, one reason why i stay in the shadows most of the time but a good conversation is always welcomed by me.
