My Morbid Hopes

My great grandfather was a medic assistant I n world war 2. His main job was to pick up the dead bodies, find missing body parts and prepare the men to be shipped back for burial. I asked him why he did such a thing, without being upset or sick, and he told me someone had to do it ; That those men died trying to give my grandfather And his family freedom so he could make sure their bodies are respected and sent back to their families.

Ever since, I knew I wanted to do the same. As they say, the dead don't have voices, but we do. They have lived what life they were meant to, and with their death we can mourn, grow, and learn. In my avatar, the fire police hat I have on, is his. He was also a fire police, who has been in the hall of fame in my hometown. He was an amazing man. Whom, unfortunately died in 2012.

My poppop John, he is another amazing man. Might as well have been my father. He met my grandmother a few months after her first husband was tragically killed in a work accident at the local steel mill. A year later they were married. He helped my grandmother through her suffering as best as he could.

He was in Vietnam, when his helicopter was shot down and he ended up almost dieing in quicksand. A bullet ripped through his knee...the scar was pretty neat though the memories were harsh for him. At one point, he became a P.O.W, and was infected with many chemicals. He gained tumors and cancer due to AGENT ORANGE (a condition from those chemicals) and slowly faded away for 4 years. He died in my hands, February 2010.

He taught me that I could do anything I wanted to. In the middle school, I wanted to join the wrestling team....and the couch said girls aren't worthy of his time. My grandfather heard about it, came to school and cornered the teacher telling him that he would personally kick his ass for being ignorant to his grand daughter. When I was going through the ranks as a Mixed Martial artist, ranked in Tang SO Do, he was there cheering me on every chance he got.

These two men both died sadly, and I miss them everyday. But when I achieve my dreams, they will be there watching me. I know that.

Every rose has its thorns

I finally got a job after applying to over 100 places.

It's nearly impossible to get hired these days.

But excitement kind of fades...

I have to take out all of my facial piercings.

No earrings, I can't wear my boyfriends necklace

Or the anniversary bracelet he got me since I

Will be making food.

But they are fine with tattoos as long as they are NOT

Inappropriate, gang related or pornographic in nature.

I am one all for tattoo acceptance in the work place.

If customers don't like it then tough. Plus it's easy to cover

Up, just put on a long sleeved shirt and extra deodorant. Lmfao.
