The air is cool, dreary. The moist from the unfallen rain hangs in the air as a fog to blanket the already obscurred vision of the world. The clouds droop in the sky, parturient with the forthcoming autumn storm. A slight breeze fans the fallen, spiritless leaves never again to know the breath of the tree. They skitter with soft scratching sound across the street to a hollow, the home of a rabbit; small, brown, helpless, hiding. As the light fades further and trees cast dancing shadows even longer, a person enters this fading scene. The sun is gone, the streetlamps snap on with soft buzzing clicks; the character's thick heeled boots can be heard wetly clunking against the autumn beautified asphault, crunching solfly on occasion over the stray leaves. This road is barren. Endless miles of black tar walled in by towering trees far further than the eye can see. Where does the road lead? Perhaps, it is a metaphor for life. The way we seem to be going the same way, blocked in by our past choices as this road is by the trees that are slowly lapsing into sleep. But, though you may be sure you are headed the same way, are you entirely sure of the direction? Maybe our lives do carry down the same path, but as being typical humans, we've no true measure of the extent of the greatness that we can create ourselves to be. Nor where the path shall really lead... Or even, when along the way.. We shall meet our dead end.. Be ready for that. Live your life to it's fullest..
