Layouts and Skins
Eternal Layout
The Eternal layout has some unique qualities. One of these is the rotating member pictures in the middle of the left hand column. If you skin this layout, you can replace those pictures with whatever you want. To replace the pictures, there is a special configuration section in the CSS file. Scroll to the bottom and look for the section: /* START PICTURE ROTATION */
There are instructions included in the CSS file for this section. This is where you define what pictures will rotate for your skin.
You are not limited in how many pictures you can use. Upload your pictures to somewhere that is internet accessible and then place the full URL paths to your pictures in the SHOWCASE section. Put one URL per line.
The CAPTIONS section is optional. If you use it, you must use it for all SHOWCASE pictures. Each line in CAPTIONS corresponds to the same line in SHOWCASE. If you use CAPTIONS, this is what will appear below the pictures you define.
It all makes a bit more sense when you view the example CSS file in the layout pack. The Eternal layout is a great layout to skin when you're looking to create a skin with a bunch of graphics. The only limitation for graphics files, defined in SHOWCASE, is that all graphics must be 320 pixels in width. Graphics can be any height. The 320 pixel width limitation is hard coded into the Eternal layout. If you use graphics of other sizes they will be re-dimensioned to 320 pixels wide, and may not look right.
For the SHOWCASE section you can use any image file format. |
