For what you may call a 'ramble' though it is a much needed sentiment...
10+!Greetings, Angelus. I am Victorya. I believe that what has happened to our society, is what has always been the case. The majority of individuals are content with their immediate ego-centric lives. A lack of Desire for what is collective, or of High Spiritual endeavors, rules. Many prefer to think about their job, some family and a small group of acquaintances. They prefer other designated “intelligent” individuals to think for them. Thus it cannot truly be said that these would be a hegemony. As in the guise of democracy, the people gave granted unto them all power.
To include to form the power structures within all levels of social institutions. From whence what is acceptable to think, praise and regard as worthwhile, is easily introduced to the masses. This has been the case since the first civilizations. Not a thing has changed. Only the methods used, to instruct individuals how to think, change in accordance to social cultural/political and time periods. For instance, Hitler made use of the print and the radio.
If the mass majority of individuals find worthwhile to not question anything at all. And to be concerned with whomever is the convenient celebrity, then none would ponder to think at all. This is extremely convenient to those in powers; in any century. The majority is perfectly happy to live this way.
Albeit, it is not that there is any sort of conspiracy. Rather, the CEO, let us say of a Corporation, may be a great husband, father and member of the community. Yet, he is concerned only with his assigned task as CEO of the Corporation. Other employees of the same Corporation, with the ecology. Scientists with what pertains to their field within their job in the Corporation. At which point the result is a fragmentation that would never perceive the whole. And thus, none ponder to even think who built the building that is the meeting place of paid workers of the Corporation.
