Ok,I guess I should tell you all where I´m from, it´s a bit of a long story, but it will also be an intro to my journal.
You can always skip it and start reading again when you see the asterisk (*) , which will be in red, for the ususal info about music, etc...
I was born in Algiers, but got adopted, through Morocco, in Spain. My blood parents are both dead of different causes, and my blood father was from Budapest. My blood mother, who was half french, half Algerian, had me and my twin brother at 16, and my twin bother was adopted in Casablanca, but sadly he killed himself before I found out where he was. I met his adoptive family, though, and they were really nice.
I lived full-time in Spain with my adoptive parents until I was about 14. They are still alive, but they are 80 years old, and my mum has Alzheimer´s and has been in hospital for the last 6 months. (UPDATE: SINCE THEN; SHE HAS PASSED AWAY, SO THAT´S WHY I HAVEN´ T BEEN ACTIVE...) My dad´s a little weird, but he´s fine and cool for his age, and we get on ok.
When I was 14, I got a scholarship, and I went to study in Clermont-Férrand (France) for a year. I took a liking to travelling...
Then I skipped my way from scholarship to scholarship through different countries. I ve lived in: Brunswick (Georgia) , Blue Springs (Missouri), New York City, Limerick (Ireland) and Bath and Bournemouth (U.K.) I came back home when my mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer´s , to care for her and my dad. My husband, my pets and I live in my parent´s house in Spain now, but when they are no longer alive, we´re moving to Newfoundland, Canada or Ireland (the Repubic).
I studied English Philology, and I have worked as a translator most of my life, but now I´m looking at different things for the future. Something like maybe study art for a hobby, and a science-based new career.

I like Vampires for the whole aesthetics of the "myth", but I do believe in psychic vampires, people who unconsciously or not, make you feel sapped of energy when you are near them: Jehova´s Witnesses, door-to-door salespeople, my adoptive mother´s sister Charo the Mega-Bitch...
Supernatural powers:
-I´m getting more and more involuntary telepathic communications with my husband, but that could be because we know eachother so well...
-I set off alarms in shops all the time, but that could be because of all the metal in my back...
-Matt, my husband, who is also a very rational bloke, says he has noticed streetlamps turning off when I pass them. Surely he´s having a laugh!?
-I got past-life regression hypnosis once when I was about 6 years old, by a friend of my mother´s who owned a yoga school I used to go to. He wouldn´t tell me what happened, but he said he could tell my soul was very old, for what it´s worth...
I´ve been told I look like Ersbéth Bathory, but I don´t think so...
-I have no memories of past lives, but I do have reocurring dreams since childhood about a city I don´t think I´ve ever seen in real life, although I know it very well. These dreams have a sort of hyperreality quality to them, and I´ve always referred to them as my "Siderburgh Dreams".I don´t know why I call them that.
-When I´m in hospital I seem to be able to tell what ails people around me. Many times, I ´ve had the chance to speak to these people and they have confirmed what I initially thought .
-Children stare at me all the time, and I love it, because they do it in a non-judgemental type of way, and they even seem to like me. Grown-ups also stare, which bugs me more, and my husband and I have come up with this little game: we pass a group of people, we count to 5 and turn around suddenly. We ALWAYS catch them pointing and staring - their faces are priceless- and then we just wave and keep walking. I use a walking stick, so if this is why they stare, it bothers me. Also my hair is now almost reaching the back of my knees, but I braid it and put it up when we go out. I tend to dress in black, but my clothes are normal, so I don´t really know why they do it, but I´m sort of used to it now. Matt, trying to make me feel better, says they can see my charisma. But I always make sure to cover up everything properly in the street!
-I am very able to "read" animals. I know how they feel, what they need, etc. It works best with my own pets, obviously. A lot of it is body landuage, but there´s something else, an empathy or intuition.
All in all, I tend to be quite rational, though, so I´m sure all these things have perfectly logical explanations.
Tattoos:
One evil-looking pixie, called Síofra (Sprite , changelling or also a precocious child in Irish) on my left arm. I don´t really like it now, but I was young and foolish when I got it, and what I wouldn´t do is spend a bunch of money to have it removed, I like being consequent with my actions whenever possible...Besides, when I get in trouble, I can always blame the evil pixie...
Piercings:
I had my nose pierced ages ago, when I had purple hair, but I grew out of both, and I pulled out the piercing.
Bolts:
5 two-and-a-half inches titanium bolts in my spine. They helped me walk last year, but now that the bones are fused, I need them removed, which could happen anytime, so if I suddenly go missing for a long while, chances are I´m in hospital. If I get proper notice, I´ll let you know in advance, so you can wish me luck...this will be the 4th operation, and I´m a bit panicky and fed up. And I always end up sharing my room with old ladies who tend to die...
I´ve found out the operation will be mid-to-end January. I´ll update when I know for sure.
Ailments:
Apart from the back thingy, I have
fibromyalgia, chronic insomnia and, since my mum has been in hospital, I get really bad anxiety attacks, and I´m having an anorexia relapse, not to lose weight, but purely out of stress. I had anorexia from age 9 to age 22, so I really don´t want to go back to that. Don´t do it, really.
Husbands:
One, Matthew, in good condition, supportive, funny and very British...I think I´ll keep him...;P
Pets:
I was an equal opportunity pet-employer: 4 dogs (the Hellhounds) and 4 cats. Dogs: Bombón, Gromit, Ceilteach (pronounced Keltesh) and Sonas. Cats: Karelia, Keller, Greebo and Van Helsing (Vannie), but now we also have Shivna, a cat we´ve adopted. She was found with a broken femur and had an operation, and she has a pin in her leg. It will come out the 11th of January.
GREEBO IS BACK!!! AND WE FOUND ANOTHER CAT WE HAVE ADOPTED, SHIVNA.
Hobbies: Reading, writing, drawing however poorly, making things (scrapbooks, TimBurton-esque papier maché dolls...), movies, music, nature, non-human creatures, forensics, history, languages, enigmas, singing and , er...ok, I´ll say it: videogames!
Vices:
I don´t smoke and, I don´t eat meat (some vampire I am!), or really much of anything else... I don´t drink anything but water and vegetable juice. I do curse sometimes, but never in a language the other person can relate to...
I am a sucker for Kinder eggs , Ferrero Rocher and Turkish Delight. But they are all fattening, so I try to stay away from them.
Fave music:
The Cure, Depêche Mode, New Order,Rasputina, Marilyn Manson, that sort of thing...but also a whole bunch of semi-obscure european musicians, like Franco Batiatto, Angelo Branduardi, Georges Moustaki, Wim Mertens...I also love Irish traditional music, I play the bodhrán and I know loads of old songs, and probably by now so do my neighbours.
I used to sing in my friend Francisco´s goth band "Syllabus" when I was in high-school, but we dissolved, because we were rarely in the same country, and when we were, he kept flunking!. In some songs I did the back-up voices, and in some I was the lead singer. Now I sing in my city choir, as a soprano. People who haven´t been to see their ear doctors for a while, have likened my singing voice to Enya´s. But when I sing, my cats come to me, so...
I have two things I don´t know if I should confess: I LOVE Hollywood musicals, the old ones with Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire. The first song I ever learned was "Strangers in the night" when I was about 4...
And also, my other little secret is that I have been obsessively listening to James Blunt for over two months now...I think I need help...
Fave books:
Terry Pratchett is GOD! And Neil Gaiman is his prophet. Also, of course,Ann Rice, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, anything remotely good in the horror/sci-fi/fantasy genres.Comic books and graphic novels. Encyclopedias. Historic novels,french poetry, the labels from my shampoo bottles...
Fave movies:
Anything horror, even the ones that are so bad, they´re good...
Van Helsing, Cronos, Braindead, Fright Night, Hellboy, Donnie Darko, Dark eyes, The Mission, Saving Grace, all the Pink Panther movies with Peter Sellers, LOTR, Star Wars, Harry Potter, most 3-D animation films. And again, obscure european stuff.
Some things I like:
Non-judgemental people, children, animals. I like honesty, and I have been accused of being a good friend. I like looking after my friendships, which I treasure.
I like my husband´s wicked sense of humour, and how he can make me laugh most of the time when life treats us badly or when I´m in pain, which makes me more in pain, but in a good way....
I like sniffing my dogs´s heads. I like rubbing my cats´s tummies.
Phobias:

The Dark, large objects (or even the photo of a very large object, like, say, a truck or an iceberg). Large masses of moving water. Sharks, especially the extinct Megalodon Carcharis-just a drawing of one makes me shiver.Zombies. Bugs. Crowds. Hospitals. Spanish merciless summers. Bush. Neonazis. Homophobes. Racists.People who hurt kids or that allow it to happen. Injustices. People who don´t think twice about buying really expensive designer s@#+, when there´s so many people going hungry in the world...Rude, loud people. Ghosts that plague me in my sleep:

The cold,

slices through my skin.
