Now that that´s out of the way...
Let me talk to you about Home...
The Shadow Empire is a dark and mysterious realm- A twisted gothic dream or nightmare if you will.
A Rome set in the 5th demension and that of a parallel universe to the ancient Roman Empire.
There are no emperors but just one Empress that controls the Empire with an iron fist and the Empire itself is
comprised of a set of regions locally ruled by governors, viceroys or client kings in the name of an Empress.
Many Houses form her Empire and the House leaders are senators in the Dominion of Rome.
Her family of Roman Gods are always having a game of chess with the daily lives of those within the Empire.
The Empire has two darksides and one is darker then the other. One being of a very dark Roman Empire and the other being the Underworld. Within the Underworld, the dark Empire is constantly at war for control of hell and has many dark legions and
most of which of these are of the undead nature. The bulk of the Dark Legions are wretched undead creatures and unknown
foul beasts that are controlled by powerful Vampires,Minotaurs,Giant Spiders and Demon Lords. All of which are obsessed with the control of hell for her brother Pluto and then afterwards the great invasion of heaven itself will take place.(Her Prize) Be it above ground or below, the Empire is driven by an unquenchable thirst for total domination over everything
within in it's Imperial path of darkness. The war dogs of Rome bark and cry out to the Empress for the blood
and souls of it's enemies while her war pigs march on as one big war machine of fanatics for the pride of Rome.
Very important to the people of the Shadow Empire are the games and slavery. The games keep the people content,
while slavery is a common form of trade within the Empire itself. Shadow citizens are given the right and are
entitled to the games, which they are always free of cost. The entertainment of the people is vital to their happiness
and they demand it. Possibly the oldest spectacular sport in Rome, chariot racing is among their favourites and
also the people of Rome enjoy filling up the Colosseum to watch the famous gladiatorial contests.
Public executions are also a form of entertainment to the shadow citizens. Be them an enemy of the state or just someone that angered the Empress...death is the final outcome and the people are always entitled to see this, It is their right.
Most popular forms of execution are usually the slow death of crucification or the feared drawn and quartered punishment.
Beheading is not common but used, as is giving the "accused" to the gladiatorial contests. The most common form of execution for any female is usually being burnt alive at the stake but this is not the only way, just the most common one.
Most of the time the choice is that of the Roman Queen herself or the senate for the accused's form of death.
Pride, honor and servitude to the Empress and the Empire are all that matters to anyone within the Dominion but of course
there are some that feel this way but also wish to deal in the dark politics of Rome and gain their own personal power
through this method- Senators are very powerful. While others may choose a different route and become great generals and
champions of the people- Generals are quite powerful in their own right and sometimes argue and disagree with the senate.
The Empress and her family of Gods keep a very watchful eye on all of those within the Shadow realm and deal harshly with
those that cause rifts within the mighty waves of the Shadow Empire.
