The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

I am the vampire Damien DuVoid. This is my nightside name which is very close to me. My current form is 23 years old. I say 'my current form' because my spirit has been reincarnated many times, as is the case with many of my kind.

I am not one of the "traditional" romantic vampires portrayed on television or in movies, although like many of Ann Rice's characters I do come from French heritage. I am a psychic vampire; as the name implies, I feed on human spiritual energy. This energy goes by many different names (chi,ki,prana,aura);no matter what you choose to call it, I need to feed on it daily in order to stay mentally,physically and emotionally well. I didn't choose to become what I am, I was born this way.

Ever since I was a child I've had an innate sixth sense towards others emotions and thoughts. Being able to 'read' people and know exactly how they are feeling or what they are thinking without speaking a word to them.

I was finally awakened (awakened being the term to describe when a vampire realizes what he/she is) at the age of 18. And like the word sounds, it seemed as if I had awakened for the first time; the floodgates had been opened. I began to develop abilities that most mundanes could only dream of having. The world had become my pranic playground. I could manipulate energy faster than than the blink of an eye and drop grown men to their knees from across the room, the point is that I had reached my endarkment.

Because of my strict Christian parents I began to feel guilty for what I was and developed what the vampire community calls "Louis de Pointe du Lac Syndrome". My parents watched my every move, which left me only one option: to stop feeding. Soon after I spiraled into a deep depression due to my constant lack of energy. After 5 years I recently began to feed again and gradually regain my abilities; and after doing more research into the different codes of ethics of vampirism,I am more selective of whom I take energy from and how I use my abilities.
