Knowledge of Knots is imperative while facing survival conditions. These knots are the basic:
1. Handcuff knot: As the term implies the handcuff is just that, a knot utilized to bind an individuals hand. Although there are a number of uses for it, it is best utilized as a restraint.
2. Clove Hitch, Bowline & Sheet Bend knots: These knots are probably the most important for you to know how to tie and utilize. There are several types of Bowline knots. A regular bowline, a running bowline, a bowline on a bight, a French bowline, a Spanish bowline. It is good to know all of them and their uses.
3. Sheepshank & Knotted Sheepshank
4. Midshipman’s Hitch
5. Square Knot
There are many other types of knots utilized for different situations, but those above are probably the most utilized in any given survival situation on land. To learn more about knots, I have added these web sites for your convenience.
