Grifter is a hero in the Wildstorm universe. He is a skilled marksman and fighter. He also has dormant psionic powers brought on by exposure to the Gen-Factor during his time with Team 7 in the Gen12 comic series.

Midnighter is the tactically advanced close-combat fighter from Stormwatch. Now, he leads the members of the Authority. He is able to see the outcome of any battle before it's begun. He has a dark, dry sense of humor, and is a ruthless killer, but he has a strong morality as well. He is now married to his partner Apollo.

The Authority is fighting a losing battle against an endless horde of tentacled monsters. Every member of the team is either dead or dying.
