i think energy vampirism is taking biophotons similar to what the aura is made from. I believe this is the link between body and spirit even matter and spirit.
As we know the thoughts in our brain are chemical sparks and the biophotons the link between matter and mind.
This also is the key to magic, one’s focus altering reality into ripples.
Iv before always drained energy from people to use for magic… now Im addicted to it.
Still tell me your thoughts on my assumption about deeper energies manipulations and relevance to magic

Is the energy biophotons that energy vamps feed on the same energy that magic uses when focused

Lav, I have a simple answer for you...

If you can and have been using this energy, then I would assume it is the same energy regardless of what state said energy is in at the time of exchange.

But I do know what you are getting at, since it seems as though it is a differant type of energy. Though in my opinion and experiance, all energy is the same, no matter what stereotype it is given...Such as emotional, spiritual, pranic, etc. Even the assumptions on how to use it.

Energy is energy, manipulated by the individual to attain whatever attribute is in their power to attain.

No offence but I'd be more concerned about the addiction issue there rather than debating about what kind of energy is what. Addiction in anyone is not good. Addiction in someone who practices magic is even worse.

If you are addicted, wait for the burn out to begin, and you may realize energy can be drained with too much use without proper regaining of the energies, the addict will burn away. Though I am not soo sure addiction to magik is possible.

I also believe that the addicted part of this is the real issue you should be focused on and dealing with rather than the energies. Addiction can be harmful to you and others as well.

..addiction, dependancy? Different words for the same thing. My teacher showed me the path .. but taught me to be careful what I used to gain what I wanted...

I highly disagree with those who are saying we should just focus on the addiction.

In the medical and scientific world we don’t only focus on diseases do we? We focus on genetics, microbiology, and what not so we can have a deeper understanding of the diseases and how to get closer to curing them.

Same goes here. The more understanding of our "addictions" and how it comes about. Along with a deeper understanding of how we are connected the more we can control the gift.

Now onto the main subject at hand.

Adding to what has been said before, I also believe that we are connected through wavelengths, and that is how thoughts jump.

You know when you are close to someone and you both say the same thing, or you're thinking about something and another person in the room brings it up. That is because your thoughts are constantly jumping (I believe) and that we are all connected to every other living creature on another plane. In a criss-cross from that plane to this one we are all connected. This is also very effectual through the use of magick.

The whole of reality and the aether are comprised of limitless energies. As I understand it, any of these energies are potentially useable, and they can all be drawn from for certain purposes. It's entirely possible to use the energy for magickal purposes.

As for the title of this thread, if you ever catch a glipse of these ripples in reality, it's beautiful. I've only seen them while using sacred Datura, and it's amazing to watch them.

i've always thought that when you draw in energy for use in magick, sometimes you might also draw in energy from those around you. i have never heard of an "addiction", per se, to magick, but definitely an "addiction" to drawing in energies.

so maybe the addiction is not the magick, per se, BUT the drawing in of biophotins (sp.)

That does sound like the most likely source of the addiction. Energy, like any high, can be addicting.

i think ppl can feed off energy but like in a vamperic sense. the energy of a crowd, the energy of the chase ec. ppl can be influanced by thier sroundings. and the energy level.

Then have electrical energy, chemical energy.

Question is are we dealing with different forms of energy here. Is life energy, described by Lavisbre as phontonic energy a different form that energy used in magic.

When you say the energy is manipulated by the individual, are you suggesting that the practitioner of magic changes the form of the the energy or channels it? Can the energy be focused from others into the magic or does it have to be drained first?

That is precisely what I am saying. The manipulated energy can and will change form on a whim. Either before or after it is gathered in whatever process is used to gather it.

I would say that energy vampirism is magic itself.
Here is a partial definition of magic:
"possessing or using or characteristic of or appropriate to supernatural powers"
I would think that Energy Vampirism goes along these lines.

the addiction of using anything is not a good thing yet I feel many who uses it has a good grip on what they are doing because it could be dangerous to themselves as well as others so to be in control of your use is a major thing.

I have a question about your ideas on energy.
I believe everything is vibrating even our DNA is just vibrations.
I think those of us that feel and feed on energy even those of use that reverse negative energy is because were like a tuning fork a certain frequency that vibrates and alters the frequency.
Do you think this is why focus works most of the time as were tuning in to the vibration?

You are not far from the truth Lav, energies are vibrations in a way. But to elaborate more on the subject, I think Oceanne should be involved in this discussion as well...Might wish to see if we can invoke her.

yes our energy vibrates and flows we give off enengy and we can pick it up you can feel the power in waves and if you do feel power easily it can even make you sick

I believe that magik can be 100% explained by the laws of Physics. Some of these laws are still being unraveled by Physicists...but during this century...we will have most of the answers.

I as well agree with soulshroud. Once you have taken or given the energy it can be changed.

Simply put, Lavisbre, the greater the energy manipulation, the greater amount of resource you are going to need access to.

I find this very aspect to be one of the greatest weaknesses of the psychic vampire: the lack of ability to sustain energy effectively enough to create strong ripples without draining from others.

However, there is a way around it. Modern ethics, such as the Black Veil make it paramount to gain acceptance from a donor in order to drain. For energy manipulation, one must find other means of 'fueling the fire', so to speak. For this specific goal, I find the use of sigil magic is helpful.

To use a commercial term, I set a sigil in place, bind its energy source to another energy being and walk away. It's sort of a 'set it and forget it' concept.

I'm also careful to deactivate a sigil when its purpose is served.

Tuning in on vibrations would be one aspect of handling and managing energy, since sound/vibrations is one form of energy.

But you may need to consider that manipulating energies my come in other forms. Chemical energies produced may be received by our nose and tongue through smell and flavor, thus the power invoked through the burning of candles.

Which also produces light energies that my be harnessed visually and then channeled.

Energies exist any so many forms, and the capturing and using those energies are part of the riddle and the experience.

I don't really 'get' the concept I think you're looking for, lav. I perceive reality being simply what it is (real)... any energy I receive or take from others by whatever way is simply a transfer of energy. Is that perhaps what you're getting at or am I missing the mark completely?

I believe that once the energy is 'taken', it can be manipulated in any way that the one who possesses it chooses. Also in any form, for any use.

Im currently trying to put my finger on a key to what as an energy feeder and user.. just what it is im taking and using and why.
I do believe biophotons which are light cause ripples in reality and the ability might be DNA as it is just vibrations unlike the models we see which is just an artistic expression.
So my vibrations cause my ability to take and use…. Just wanted some more input and angles
