The stories of the two Lilith's can be seen as an alchemical allegory of the creation and redemption of the human spirit.
The two sons represent the spirit (good) and the soul/personality(evil), called evil not because it is evil but because it seeks to mingle its essence with those below (enamored of the physical world).
The blind Dragon who eats poison eats the poison of the corrupted soul so as to purify it, overcoming the "evil" of the soul so that it may be transformed and "eat" of the pure food of spirit.
This concept of the poison-eating Dragon is commonly found in Alchemy.

Unfortunately, it appears that the name of the element "Lithium" has this history:
"...Berzelius gave the alkaline material the name "lithos", from the Greek λιθoς (lithos, "stone"), to reflect its discovery in a mineral, as opposed to sodium and potassium which had been discovered in plant tissue; its name would later be standardized as "lithium"."
From Wiki entry for lithium.
This is a rather dense site --- can't wait to hear what you think, but quickly --- Tarot cards might be a good place to look, especially antique decks. And then there's this:

Soulshroude, your link is great.
Whether or not Lilith and lithium are related by the common bond of Litho's, which is greek in meaning...Is purely speculation.
Though Lilith does share a common bond with the alchemy symbol for health and healing simply stated "medicine": The Caduceus.

Just remember this is all based on speculation. My advice would be to research this area for information to come to a conclusion.
Soulshroude:thank you for the info and link it was really useful;
interesting speculation about caduceus but I think there is no relation between the snakes of Hermes and Lilith as snake.
dabbler: the lithium variant is excluded ;)
Bloodmother:I`ve search on that site. It`s the first site of alchemy on google, my friend and the best;thenks anyway.
Meska and SonOfLoki:I am glad to find some more people on VR interested in alchemy, but please stick with the thread; if you don`t have any info about that please don`t post, just read;the Dominars are watching the thread.
I know alot about lillith i want to name my daughter after her but I don't know much about alchemical symbol so could some-one explain?
Lilith-
Lilith is one of the oldest creatures in the long history if vampiric beings, with roots buried deep in the traditions of the ancient summerians, babylonians, and hebrews. The orgigin of Lilith, from an archaeological point of view, is very like the sumerian Lilu. But the “Lilith” most commonly discussed is drawn from the talmud, which suggets that Lilith was created to be Adem’s first wife. She however, a fiercely independent woman who did not respond well to Adem’s attempts at being dominant partner, especially in a sexual sense. Adam tried to establish sexual dominance over Lilith by making her lie beneath him during sex; Lilith wanted to be the one on top, and this resulted in history’s first divorce due to irreconcilable differences.
In some stories she was driven out by angels- male angels, of corse. In a different telling of this legend, god had originally created Adem and Lilith as twins joined together at the back. Lilith wated complete equality with adem but was denied, so she fled from him in anger.
And in yet a third story, after Lilith left Adem she met Satan and had sex with him. In all of the stories, however, Lilith goes to the “abode of demons” where she becomes pregnant(eather by Satan or one or more demons) and began producing children at the rate of about a hundred per day, thereby populating the whole earth with momsters. In many of these legends of Lilith, her children were the first vampires, which makes her the mother of all vampires.
Adem appealed to god, who sent three angels, Sansanvi,Sanvi and Semangelaf, to drag Lilith back to Eden. Lilith cursed the angels and refussed to go. The angels warned her that God would take these demon children away from her unless she returned to adamand submitted to his will. Lilith refussed and was severely punished by God. Her offspring were scattered across the world and cast into demon dimensions. Adem was then placated by the creation of Eve, who was far more docile.
The canonical bible contains none of these Lilith stories, but the folklore has been passed down though the centuries. Though openly refuted by hebraic scholars, even as late as the middle ages, there were Jews wearing amulets to ward off the Lilith-the vampiric children of Lilith.
In more modern and she is often regarded as an icon and role model feminism and equality.
this sight describes Lilith as a symbol on the tree of knowledge and a personal account it sounded interesting.

I recently found a site that discusses how Lilith's priestesses performed rituals involving menstrual blood to represent spiritual, alchemical transformation. Here is the link: http://www.angelfire.com/nt/dragon9/LILITH.html
The site also links Lillith to the ancient Egyptian God of magick and transformation, or Heka. Later, Lilith was linked with Hekat, the Egyptian frog-headed Goddess of spiritual transformation.
Thank you all for posting here.
I heard Lilith has the black moon as symbol.
Do you know anything about a Black Moon in Alchemy?
dragonrouge this is all that i was able to locate on the subject you seek... and the information came from:
http://www.astrologysoftware.com
I myself have always believed her to be the Goddess of death, and I recall a post from the other day of her being first in garden of Eden. As it states in in the info belowIm pretty sure that was in a post somewhere here, or i just may have read it some where in the last few days.
There are 3 astrological points with the name Lilith: asteroid Lilith, Black Moon Lilith and Dark Moon Lilith. They are all called Lilith because the way you interpret them in a chart is related to the Lilith story.
Probably the earliest version of Lilith is from Mesopotamia in the 13 -15th centuries BC where she was the Goddess of Death in the form of an owl. She was called Lilith because it means "screech owl". The version of Lilith we know today is as the first wife of Adam, before Eve, although she is not mentioned in the Bible or in ancient Hebrew religious writings. This version seems to come from a medieval writing that purports to be part of Hebrew writings but is not. The writer probably took the older legend and Christianized it by making it part of a Bible story. Lilith became the woman from hell, the anti-female.
There are many versions and interpretations of her story. As the first wife of Adam she refused to be subordinate to him. She refused to lie beneath him in sexual relations. She wanted to lie side by side or on top. When he tried to force her she used her powers to fly away. This part of her story has interested many women today . They like to think of Lilith as a feminist heroine, saying she was courageous and asserting her equality. However, in the original story she was more a symbol of the psychologically damaged. If you interpret the Liliths in a chart as heroic or admirable it will not be accurate. The Liliths in your chart operate as places where you are having trouble, where you don't fit in with the norm.
After Adam refused to have her as his wife, she ran off and mated with many demons, which was strictly against God's will. God sent 3 angels to her to get her to stop but she didn't obey so He started killing her children at the rate of 100 per day. She went mad with grief and started killing other people's children. Painful issues surrounding children, birth, unsuitable sexual partners and parts of your life where you just can't function like others do are Lilith issues.
Asteroid Lilith
The glyph for asteroid Lilith is a straight horizontal line with 4 small vertical lines sticking up from it , sort of like an upturned rake head, and on the right below the horizontal line is a very small mark like a capital L or V. Some say it is an upturned hand which could be either rejecting or expecting something different. It takes about 5 years for Lilith to travel through all 12 signs, since it does retrograde a lot. It orbits the Sun in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. The asteroid Lilith has to do with all aspects of difficult sexual relationships.
Black Moon Lilith
Black Moon Lilith is the astrologer's term for the lunar apogee. Since the Moon has an elliptical (oval) orbit and a wobbly one at that, the distance the Moon is from the Earth varies. The lunar apogee is the mathematical point in the sky where the Moon is farthest from the Earth. The reason this point is called Lilith is because in the Lilith story she was acting out the difficult (distant) part of the Moon, in murderous rage, vindictiveness, and insanity. The glyph for Black Moon Lilith is a black crescent pointing east, similar to a 3rd quarter Moon, but with a cross underneath.
Black Moon Lilith can be calculated as mean or true, similar to the way the Moon's nodes are calculated as mean or true. But in the case of the Black Moon there can be as much as 30 degrees difference between the mean and true so it is possible for them to be in different signs or houses. Deciding which to use is easier if you look at charts of people you know where the mean and true are in different signs and houses. The true is the more accurate placement but an ephemeris for it has only been available for about 10 years so not as much work has been done using it. The ephemeris for the mean has been available for about 100 years and astrologers in Europe have been using it almost that long. That's why you see the mean used more in articles and books.
The mean moves about 39 degrees per year or about 3 deg 8 min per month and does not retrograde. The true Black Moon retrogrades a lot and can move anywhere from 9 deg to well over 70 deg per year. It also can move up to 4 deg per day or stay at the same degree for several days so it is important to get an accurate placement for the true. An ephemeris in a book is fine for mean but not for the true. You can get the true in Win*Star software, Halloran software, or Riyal freeware or you can use the Swiss Ephemeris online to get both true and mean. Directions for using the Swiss Ephemeris to find Black Moon Lilith are at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/3Liliths Click on 3 Liliths Info, then scroll down to the Black Moon section. It takes about 9 years for the mean or true to pass through all 12 signs.
Dark Moon Lilith
Unlike Black Moon Lilith, Dark Moon Lilith is a real body in the sky, a second Moon to the Earth that doesn't reflect light, hence the name Dark Moon. The glyph for Dark Moon Lilith is a zero with a forward slash running diagonally through it. There is some controversy over whether it is really there since it can only be seen as a spot moving across the Sun. However, there have been sightings since the 1600's as detailed in Delphine Jay's book, Interpreting Lilith, pg. 1-6. Dr. Georges Waltemath, an astronomer, documented it in 1898 and came up with calculations which gave it an orbit of 119 days around the Earth.
The astrologer Sepharial used the Waltemath calculations to come up with an ephemeris but he made errors which caused a difference of anywhere from about 2 to over 40 degrees. Delphine Jay, Ivy Goldstein-Jacobson, Mae Ludlum-Wilson and others copied Sepharial's calculations. The original Waltemath calculations can be found in Solar Fire software or Riyal freeware. Many astrologers use the Sepharial calculations with success, but the Waltemath calculations are more accurate. Dark Moon Lilith can be interpreted similarly to the other Liliths. Delphine Jay says Dark Moon Lilith is a place where you must operate impersonally because operating personally there will never be successful.

A few years ago. I read in some books on faeries and in some books on Wicca. That faeries were once angels. But the reason they were thrown out of Heaven is because they chose Lucaphure's side or were neutral and didn't want to help either side.
That's why some faeries despise humans because we are beloved by God.
And some help us as a means of redemption to God.
I read also in a history book we were taught from in school that faeries were in the bible in the great war of Heaven, but for some mysterious reason taken out.
In one of my father's books (he's an occult elder). That one of the faeries names was Aiyanna (God's lovely muse). And she tried to redeem herself by helping humans and took human form to live among the humans as a medicine woman. Who was consider one of the first Wiccans. She fell in love with a mortal man, wed, and bore 3 of his children. Until he found out what she was and attempted to kill her and killed his children. She became so bitter towards humans. Ate their children. She fed of their flesh and drank their blood and became known as the first female vampire.
She is now the Goddess of Vampirism. She also started the vampiric lineage known as Qedeshah's. The only vampire type that's all female, and can bear children, and hybridic children. Because she never lost her power of reproduction. They also worship all aspects of the Great Goddess, but they use to only worship the darkest aspects. Most vampire's hate the Qedashan lineage because they think bearing offspring is unnatural for a vampire and try to kill the Qedeshah.
But in most cultures know Lilith as a demi-god formation of Aiyanna.
In other stories and accounts Lilith and Aiyanna were both muses who were sisters that both loved Lucipher. And when he fell they both fell with him, but each were jealous of their relationship with him and Lilith turned into a snake thus eating Aiyanna and all her offspring.
Lilith was a little guilty about eating Aiyanna and cut the moon in two. A pale white moon for Aiyanna and a gray/dark one for Lilith.
I don't know if this helps you in anyway, or confuses you more..........I hope it gives you more to study.
A deficiency of Lithium in the brain gives rise to psychotic behaviour and sexual depravity until the patient eventually (if untreated chemically) becomes suicidally depressed...Lilith symbolises alchemically the control of the effects of Lithium depravation to produce enlightenment and insight...though, like Lilith at a terrible personal cost...
"The lion is a well-known symbol of the solstice of the sun, when the sun is at its highest... it is also a symbol of resurrection... passionate devouring, the power drive...the desire to posses. The outstreched paws and wide open jaw illustrate the lion, the powerful, passionate hot nature. It stands for resurrection, but also can be weakened by the flesh."

You offered me two great directions of study!
I am in your debt!

I don`t think lithium relates to Lilith from the ethymological point of view, but what are you saying about the lack of lithium is very interesting!

Thank you for the alchemical link and for your info, my dear friend!I never knew Lilith was associated with Melusine!

Indeed, the knowledge is like a sphere. As much as the content grows , the margins of the sphere becomes wider, so the contact with the unknown becomes bigger.
I love questions!

Ok,I have been doing alot of cross ref here and it comes back to the same symbol, whether in medicine her symbol appears to be the pole itself which represents the tree of life..so Whispersinthewind,I stand with you on my findings.
Ive also tracked her back to Silver, snake and dragon and finally after weeding thru that, Antimony.Look at the alchemic symbol for Antimony.
Still going though...
Also seems to go back to Gold,or gold of the gods..vehicle of light..(mentstral blood )..all kinds of things, depends on what kind of alchemy youre looking at..But all in all she basiclly represents Alchemy itself,so much as I gather. But when it got down to an actual substance with a symbol ,it goes back, again,to Antimony. so far.
LOL I see why you have been having suchj a tough job of this one Dragonrouge!!
Thank you, Oceanne!
The site of Adam McLean - Alchemywebsite - is the best alchemy site ever I think!I knew about it but I didn`t find anything important related to the subject.
In the Lexicon of Eidolons Alchemiae I`ve found these:
"Lili:
Synonymously for gold (cutter 1962)
Synonymously for Aurum potabile (cutter 1962)"
And aurum potabile means:
"Anima solis, Aurum vivum philosophorum, Balsamus philosophorum, Lili, Leo more ruber
Drinking gold. In wine solved pure gold or Lapis. (Waltharius 1956)
Drinking gold. To taper a red Tinktur (Tinctura), which one nearly the characteristics of the Lapis philosophorum after-praised, allegedly qualified, to strengthen and heal many diseases. For preparing there were innumerable regulations. (Cutters 1962)
Drink-cash gold. In old books of the spagyrischen medicine very frequently prescriptions are for the production of Goldtinkturen. Most are based on the fact that gold chloride is further-treated in different kinds. The true Aurum potabile is however a product, which is prepared in the process of the large work, a smelling oil of low-red color, for its production the Merkur of the ways is indispensable. (Horn Fisher 1998)"
Thank you very much for that!
You're more than welcome..Im glad you found at least something, that isnt an easy one to research at all.It was really fun though and if I find anything else that I think might be of use,Ill post or send it.
lilith is the white queen and is need to be maryed to the red king so she can give birth to the phsolfic stone
I am sure you have a source for your information.
