I pose this question abstractly as I have taken a break from my meditation. I feel compelled somehow to do this, yet can not say why. Open your mind to the idea, if you can and share your thoughts. If you believe it possible, tell us why. If you have experienced it, describe the feeling. If you disagree then tell us you logic... All answers are welcome.

Is your question referring to whether you feel connected and disconnected to reality at the same time? If so then my best answer is, its possible to be disconnected mentally from reality and senses wise yet still have your body operating normally in reality. This usually hits me when I am driving from time to time.
Cryptic, so my reply will take a similar form.
By wandering alone for 40 days and forty nights or more you will strike a conversation with "thyself". Slowly your own ID fades and loneliness gives way to the reality of the nothing you are experiencing.
Many give way to depression and despair, the "marooned sailor" In time the self, the arrogance, the hope despairs at reality, the reality that you were born alone and will die alone. By surrendering to this reality you become dust, your last hopes and dreams of this mortal coil fall to dust, the dust, the nothing that in truth is you. You sit by a dwindling fire and let it all go as an inner peace descends, knowing you are but dust and will dwindle and fade just as the fire before you shows you.
Then, finally as all hope and life are finally extinguished the voice within gives way to the inevitable silence...time passes and ceases to have meaning for your Id is dead.
Then within the darkness something else stirs, the world inverts...you are now at one with everything.
If you become everything then you have to be nothing, because everything would include that nothing.
Oddly enough you maybe correct.
A recent theoretical view of the universe suspects all dimensions are in fact linked.
As such there is only ONE true dimension, intricately and infinitely linked together in One Time Space dimension they have funnily named a Brain. Thus we have a warped sense of individuality whereas on a quantum level we are indeeed One.
So, next time you shoot a rabbit or cut down a tree, say sorry.
Perhaps we truly are all Gods(the Brains) children?
Just a thought...
If you define God as the basic aliveness of the universe then you consider us such.
Ultimately, we come from the universe.
If nothing is everything, then nothing is not nothing but everything and yet everything is nothing.
That moment of nothingness and existence combining into consciousness, I think I've experienced it once... For just a second.
I think this is about Detachment. How the mind and body split, reacting accordingly to different realities. Even then, one cannot feel everything and nothing at the same time, I'd think.
I think that everything is nothing.
I donno, I'm crazy.
But think about it-
Is to be everything, mean you're everything?
To be somebody, sometimes means to be a nothing-
A baka. (An idiot).
Having everything, too, means you also loose something.
And to loose one thing, makes you feel as if you've lost everything.
So, to have nothing, in my opinion, is better than to have everything.
And to be nothing, means you are everything.
(Vice versa)
Sorry if this doesn't make sense xD.

the Tao tells us that if we think we know the Tao then we do not know the true Tao.
As everything and nothing appear to be opposites but really are not. We are all connected to everything else (the larger picture) yet nothing at the same time (this is letting go, knowing that we ourselves are in fact inconsequential, yet important in the sense that we cannot be destroyed). It all comes around again.
To be everything and nothing I would think you would need to be in a spirit form of some kind. I think maybe astral abilities reach that type of concience state. I have experience this a few times and it is a strange feeling. It is like you know everything around you, but you cannot acctually feel anything.
i have to agree with the earlier statement becoming everything is becoming nothing, but this statement also applies to life in general. once you have gained everything there is nothing left.
I believe that is possible to be everything an no thing. Not nothing. Rather no thing that can be defined. I believe that we can be everything as all that is is contained within the universe, which is also found in the mind/soul. It is possible to be nothing as if we are not part of a whole then we would lack unity or adhesion to the Source.
In that case, if one is not with the whole that makes all things and contains all things, then it could be said that we are nothing. As oneself would not be recognized as being part of what is. At the same time one can Will to not be anything at all and to perceive that one is nothing. Yet, that would be a lack adhesion and equivalence of form to what is. If all that is-is, then there can be no thing that is not.

The feeling of detatchment could be a result of you not taking your meds, but have you ever read Julian Barbour's The End Of Time?
