Here is just a few quick pointers for any new or old members to the forum ...

First and Foremost read the FAQ's they are there for a reason.

This is not a gripe, this is not anything to put anyone down, this is just so that people have a better idea of where to post things, or certain things that are shall we say not appreciated (maybe that's the wrong word but it was the only thing I could think of)...

No I am not better then anyone else here .. I don't claim to be or try to be ...

Feel free to add to this if you wish but please use some common sense .. this is not a thread to bitch piss or moan on ...

#1 Introductions should go in the second section "Gothic Match"

#2 Promoting ones Profile, Portfolio, Journal should go down in the second section "Gothic Match"

#2 Thank You's, Apologies on a mass scale should also be posted in the second section "Gothic Match"

#3 Racism of any sort goes no where - it's not tolerated IE.. FAQ #10 "Rude, obnoxious, hate, or flame posts"

#5 Any discussion of a sexual nature is to be in the thread called "Scarlett's Room"

The following is a list that tend's to upset people ...

*Using all CAPITOL LETTERS - does not go over well

*Minor type-o's a letter here or there - understandable - major type-o's where every other word is mis-spelled - use your Word Program Spell check

*Street lingo/slang - not - speak proper English

*Commenting in ones own thread after anyone posts to it - IE.. "please do not feel the need to reply to my komment by saying how kool it is"

*Stay on track - minor bumps off ok, but steering the whole thread off track get's it RIP'ed

*Non-sense posts to a thread just to post something

*Convo back and forth between two or three people solely for the purpose of chatting - uh that's why there is your message center, free message centers IE. Yahoo IM, AOL IM, MSN IM download one and set up a user profile post it in you profile page...

*I'm sure there's more but as I said feel free to add to it, just DO NOT turn this into a bitch, piss, and moan session

Lastly I just want to say, this is a site on, about, and for Vampire's - Please use common sense when posting a new thread .. When in doubt, seek a Mod, or even ask someone else that's online, I'm sure they would be able to help you figure out if your topic would "go over" well ..

As I said, I'm not saying nor thinking that I am better then anyone else on this site, I just see to many tome stones and it's very saddening >;^{

Do not fear Dami, I think this should stop people having things to moan about, rtaher than aggravating it.

There is no cure for stupidity. And there is no lack of stupidity at Vampire Rave.

Anyone that has messaged an Administrator in the past week has seen the new warning page that pops up. I still get 10-20 messages a day about stuff clearly covered in the FAQ or Status System page.

Thats a shame, that people can't take more time over what they are doing.

some people just don't think before they post... i had the same problem being an admin on the forum i used to go on. mostly all annoying kids.

Yeah, but it will only work if all the new people read it...

The one thing that drives me crazy is when people post just to post. There is nothing more wasteful then seeing a thread that is full of " mmm hmmm" " I agree" or something along that lines. You can agree but give a statement or a reason why. I agree with a lot of things but I don't post it just to post even if it does move up your ranking.

I know this probably wont do a bit of good. :: shrugs:: but I tried.

Think this needs moved to the front in light of a few new threads I've seen today....

*bump* people still need to read this it still seems like they really arnt. but i do like cancer put the limit thing on the forums how lower levels cant post right away maybe that will help lets hope so.

I think we can safely say the majority of recent complaints, problems, whinging and whining (mostly from me) is now past, with the changes that big hunk of a Hero Cancer has put into play in the forum
