I don't know if its just me, but does it seem like there are alot of movie remakes coming out or has come out in the past few months? I just seen amityville horror is coming out as a remake.I don't know looks as if they ran out of things to make movies about.What do you think?

For Hollywood to come up with original ideas....that means Hollywood needs to think. And we all know that Hollywood can't do that. So they take great ideas from the past, update their dialogue, up the level of special effects, and cast it with actors that need to make a come back or create a buzz around them.

Oh well.......C'est la vie!

I agree. Hollywood has made way too many remakes lately. They just need to cool it down, think, and come out with a new movie that isn't based on an old one.

hollyweird is running dry folks....in a few more years there will be nothing but remakes....

movie remakes can be a good thing...

it's just that a lot of them have been really rubbish and not done properly, forcing change into the old storylines.

But it is true, i think there are very few original stories coming out and those that are original, are either:

a) not being discovered by the "big people"

b) being laughed at while other rubbish films are made.

i myself am writing something, that i maybe intend to take to a publisher, but honestly i can see some of the scenes in my head and they look good. hopefully others will see that.

I bet a lot of people get original ideas thrown in their faces every day...

well it made money last time we already have the rights and the scripts.
I mean come on is a safe bet for them to do.
dune remake was much better than the first dune movie but still not near the book
battlestar while a tv series is a remake of the old series and i think has done an AMAZING job to point of original idea rehashed into a much much better drama...
lets face it at this point it isnt really about acting in most things anymore is about the actors and the special effects....

I have yet to really see a remake movie that I have liked. I always like the first one. The funny part is when you got the rent a movie and you see movies that went just to dvd.

In my opinion originals are often the best.

too many of them and most of them are crappy

and same goes for sequels

yeah thats true, hollywood cant think and they are running out of ideas fast, one thing is for certain, more remakes are definately to come.

But its not only the task of hollywood...what is very sad.

i would love to see a vamp movie that say started out with Lilith and you know how the vamp bible stuff goes and make it look like lord of the rings and all that jazz. That movie would kick major ass! lol

How many times can the film formulae be utilised until there is nothing left to create? I really think that Daermon has a point, things are returning to what seemed to be origional... but its nearly all been done.

What we need is an entertainment revolution...

That's why I'm glad they're coming out with Sahara soon. That looks like a nice, original flick.

yeah Sahara does look good. I'm personally looking forward to "League Of Gentlemen's Apocolypse" and "Wallace and Gromit - The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit"

Some remakes are good, some are so-so.. my favourite remake was the Texas Chainsaw Masacre... but I agree that they are getting out of hand...

the house of wax is a classic and now paris hilton is in the remake god whats next. i have to see this one to see how bad they ruined it, same with the toolbox murders.

I love the way that famous people can just walk into the acting business while the rest of us graft like stupid bastards.

Soemtimes I wished that I cared about fame, but for now I leave the drive for skinny blonde people to walk in through the back door.

yes remakes are irritating but one i cant wait to see is the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. i hope it is succesful and they make movies on the book series. but other remakes suck.

i think will be a retarted film but i shall see it any way usually remakes suck worse than sequals to horror films but eh

I guess as long as there is someone in line with money to see the remakes, they will make more. I found out there are alot of people that dont even know the movie they are seeing are remakes.

yes i have seen a lot of previews of makes . there has been a lot of remakes lately . but there are only a few i really want to see . one is charlie and the chocolate factory, with johnny depp because it looks a little creepy and he got his inspiration from marilyn manson but lover.

I did not even know he was doing a remake hummmmm.

The first movie johnny depp was in was night mare on elms street 1. I like how he does any more he wants and dont care what people think!!! I love the move Nick of time.
