I have noticed that there are a number of polls or threads that can fall under the topic of love. Perhaps not that many, but it just seems that when I see that word it screams out at me. I am not asking what is love or for a definition of it. What I am asking is why are people obsessed with this thing called love? Does it really serve a purpose? Why is it that we enjoy so much talking about the many aspects of love?

well i don't enjoy talkin about it...it brings back the good memories of love and the really painful ones too.

i dunno why ppl are so obsessed w. talkin about it, either they wanna find out about it, or really i don't know why...i know all about it so i ain't askin shit.

At one point or another in our lives, we all experience love. I think that people talk about it because they are at these different of love. Love is odd. It consumes you. It becomes all you think about, and hence, all you talk about. It is funny that way.

Love does consume a person's being... I forgotten about that. Hmm... this would mean that a person experiences love because they are shown love. If a child is not taught to fear snakes then they are not afraid. A person who is never taught love can never feel it or ever hope to truly express it... strange.

MMm question .... if there are so many polls and threads about love, the in's and out's the up's and down's and everything in between .. why start another thread about love? Not being sarcastic, but I think just about every thing that could be discussed about love and the topic of love I think has been covered in every which way.

I have to disagree, hanzi13. If a child is not shown love as a child, that doesn't mean that they cannot love. As an adult, there is a point where your childhood isn't as important, it is your experience as a teenager and adult. Even if you have never loved, i still believe that you are capable. All beings are capable of love. It is part of being human. To deny that part, would be to deny everything the world is built upon. Good or bad. Love is as it is.

i hate talking ablove. it always brings back bad memoris never the good ones. i think people love talking about it because it helps them forget about the people they have loved and lost but again thats only my opinion

Who wants to talk about all the things or people they hate? What a bummer that would be. Love is more interesting.

like i said in another similar thread,ans:everybody needs love.A lot of ppl are in love so they talk about it to show others how happy they are.(not to offense anyone but most of them are annoying)Others are in search of it.I was betrayed for million times so i learnt to live without it.

I hope it does, I regret starting it.

i think cause many of us have given up on love or the concept of true love that we question ourselves and those around us. does it exist. does it have that fairytale ending. but for these questions and those alike we truly must find the answer in ourselves. love, whether mortal or not , its the only thing that we can't study or try to begin to comprehend. because it just is.

i agree with zilverscale and empress. loves is a manipulative game that many take advantage of... its just a beauty contest...... who is going to win whos heart? its pathetic.......

basicly people love to be happy... Most feel that to be happy they gotta be in love. While I'm uberly happy & also in love. that isn't all i'm about. I guess people talk about love to make it feel more real. to make themselfs sure of the fact someone loves them.

ugh i know what you mean, my friend will chat about his girlfriend and be like "oh man she was all up on me" i think to my self... i dont give a S*** how the hell do ya respond to that? i just say "oh ok..." people who brag about thier gf or girls that brag about thier bf irritates the hell outta me..... but thats just me i guess...

I think it is all to have a higher self-esteem.If a person feels loved she/he feels better.Then when everything ends up or realise it is just an illusion then they cry and it is like the end of the world.So I made up my conclusion love is just an illusion!

The obsession for love is that ppl are out to find it. If they had it once and enjoyed that state of emotion then the ppl will ask around hoping someone or something can give them an answer. How to correct it so that they can keep and not lose it. People need to understand that love hurts no matter if you have it or not. This emotions is the cause to some of life's broken promises !!
