Hi all who read this.

I was thinking last night, a rare enough occurrence, but I was amused by my distractions.

What I was thinking about, was chaos and order. I wondered why, if chaos is movement, ex stasis, absence of order and such, then why is it associated with the dark and 'evil' things.

For, surely, light is a movement of energy and energy produces heat, etc and these are all things that are disorderly in their function.

Whereas, darkness is tranquil, with the absence of light, it is surely perfection, frozen and orderly, most things sleep at night, there is more 'empty' and dark space than there are galaxies.

So why is it that we have obtained this kind of understanding that light is 'good' and of lawfulness, for surely, light is chaos and darkness is orderly?

Is it because illumination brings understanding, which breeds rules and laws?

Or perhaps that darkness breeds a fear of the unknown and therefore our actions are unpredictable in the face of this fear?

Chaos is associated with people running around .. in .. ugh .. chaos .. ;)
Evil is associated by xtianity with darkness , lack of light [stupidity or other] and with demon horder charging the battlefield , raping and plundering [in chaos]. ... damn xtians :)) .. eh there's your connexion :)

so darkness is associated with the unknown, from which springs forth change/chaos into accepted/normal life?

Yeah , it's hard to see when the lights are off :)

darkness can be healing and soothing light can be blinding and burning

darkness is more powerfull where ever light goes it finds darkness waiting
darkness is natural

but what if what is in the unknown darkness is beneficial for us- should we then still fear this change?

The closet door is open but the lights are out . Are you sure you want to go in there ? What if it's not your closet , but a room you've never been inside before ? I would get a flashlight [science ;)] and go in , but would absolutely not go in blind .

light is movement and activity and chaos...but that is what life is about as well. dark may be peaceful, but light brings plantlife which makes our life possible.
