Donnie Darko is a great movie simply because it's set in the 80's.
it's a GREAT movie...about predestination.
that's pretty much it.
lol *Emaerald* ;)
well go to www.donniedarko.com.. and maybe you will feel it your self.
P.s. about the Movie :
The world is going to end in a little more than twenty-eight days. Donnie Darko knows this because Frank, the human-sized rabbit he hallucinates, told him so. Donnie Darko is the provocative new movie from first time writer/director Richard Kelly. This movie defies any normal sense of categorization. It has elements of teen comedy, wicked satire, horror, suspense, science fiction, and various other genres all colliding into one, bizarre, compelling, and very watchable movie. The year is 1988, and the Darko family lives in the midst of suburban Middlesex. Darko (Jake Gyllenhaal, Bubble Boy, October Sky) is troubled. He is schizophrenic, not taking his medication, and up to this point, is prone to antisocial behavior and sleepwalking. This all changes when a jet engine crashes into the Darko residence. The only problem is that no commercial airliner is missing an engine. The Darkos world is turned upside-down, foreshadowing even greater events for Middlesex.
I recently watched this movie and thought it was great, it was confusing the first time i watched but the second it was........ still confusing. was the only way the world could be save as well as his girlfriend is if darko died? If any one can explain this movie to me i would be really greatful....
it's a very good repersatation of time travel and how you cannot change the path of your destiny if you belive in destiny i for one belive we make our own
I haven't seen it, but it looks pretty wicked. By chance, is it based on a comic book?
I never saw it but looking at that pic of it. It look fucking retarded.
i saw the movie and it was a bit strange i did understand it after watching it a second time but the first time was confusing but it was interesting i will say that much
i can't believe so many people have never seen it! it's a great movie. i really enjoyed it... so many great actors are in it too. ps-the reason he wakes up in the road is because he sleep walks at night.
Donnie Darko is an amazing movie. watch the directors cut. it's quite a bit more thorough and doesn't leave you quite as confused as the initial release does
there is a deeper question to this story also......what would you do if you could experience divergent paths of predestination...not just see them as in vision.....but actually live them out and come to learn there is a point ahead where you can go back to change the outcome of events.....not for the better....but just to be different.....
other than that explaining further would tell too much about the movie.....
and many poor souls have not seen it....but watch it a few times.....with some thought time between....it seems kind of shallow at first...but the point gets deeper when you think on it
This thread is being closed because of all the pointless replies to it.
I just deleted about 15 postings all of which said something along the lines of...
"I haven’t seen it yet."
If you have not seen a movie, you cannot comment on the movie, we do not need to hear from every single person on the site in every post. If you have nothing to contribute to a post dont say anything, keep it to yourself. If however you have not seen the movie but have heard something about it, feel free to comment, but it sure as hell better not just be.....
"i aint seen it, but i hear its good".
