This is Vampire Rave.

Most people on the site claim to have vampiric tendancies.

However, I think its ridiculous that people look down on others bacause they dont claim to be from Gangrel, or any other clan from a GAME. Why are people not respected for their beliefs, instead of their house membership badge?

That because I feel that energy manipulation is a lot more than we can understand, does not mean that I cannot touch crosses or go for a swim.

Just because someone kills people does NOT make them a vampire, so why do some of you claim you have, and with pride?

Lets face it. Most of us got interested n vampires through films and books... but that doesn't mean that you have suddenly been alive thousands of years, and that Lestat is your brother.

Utilising energy/drinking blood doesn't mean that you have to be the Queen or King or Darkness. In fact, when you think about it, its just another amazing way of humans ultilising what is around them, and seeing the world differently for once. To be closer to one another.

Why is claiming o be a HLV seen as being a 'wannabe?' Why is not seeing a 'mortal' as prey, and finding feeding an intimate experience seen as weak?

NO WONDER SOCIETY THINK WERE ALL NUTCASES.

Also I get asked many times if I'm a vampire.Well here's the answer;No am not!And cause of this people don't talk with me anymore!Silly!

Also it is true that I got interested in vamps from books and movies,but I got more interested when I discovered they'real,not like the movies and before I came here I didn't even know that psy-vamps existed.So this got me more interested.But since am not a vampire I see no reason why I shouldn't be here.That's why am here,to learn!

I despise the term 'vampire' be applied to me, as it instantly counjers up the silly preconceived ideas in peoples heads, but I love the fanasty of vampires...

Also, I'm not sure where my interest was quite sparked but I know it had to do with when I started looking up Vlad Tepes Dracula. The notions of vampires in the movies are mostly comical to me. Very unrealistic in a lot of aspects.

I know what you mean STABB... I use the term vmapire, but I use it losely. The term vmapire doesn't mean you have to be a carbon copy of a fictional character.

I admit I used to play VtM, but my interest in vampires started long before that. And I do distinguish myself from my old character, heh. I don't really like people much that claim to be from one clan or another, or claim things about Caine and insist that they're right. But, I guess everyone needs to have their fantasy world, to escape reality.

I agree that everyone needs to fantasise,I do that all the time!

What I meant is,that altough it's good to fantasise,you just have to keep in mind that reality and fantasy are different,so keep the fantasies when needed,but when it comes to reality you have to know that it is different even tough it might not be that beautiful as fantasise.

I love to fantasis, and so do most people. I like to sit in graeyards, or sit at a lake near my home, and read a good book while watching the sun go down.... however, I dont come out of ta ecperience thinking that Im out of the book I was reading.

Eh.. reality is what you make of it too though. As long as nobody locks you away in a looney bin.

Well, Im not saying that reality is inflexible... I just dont like the fact that reality alwasy has to be one way, and it is looked down on to think that you can still e conidered 'vampire' without having to follow a direct set of codea,which I find a bit unrealistic.

First of all, someone that claims to have killed someone and is proud of it, doesen't deserve my respect. Second, I believe that RPG clans are fun, but not belong in one dosen't make less out of anyone. Third, if one thinks that is absolutly nessessary to belong to a house or a clan to be called a 'vampire', in my oppinion, they are wrong. As far as looking down on someone or calling them wannabes just because they don't have manufactured fangs or are just plain people that don't were the trandyest acessories...*sigh* I don't even know what to say. I think all those preconceptions and 'rankings' are just manifestations of insecurity, and desperate need for acceptance. Same goes for proving who's the meanest, who has more power..why should it matter?? In the end, the only person we're obligated to live with, is our selves, and our flaws and capacities. Don't like to be called a vampire, because I'm not so sure that having empathic abilities and suffer from photosensitivity makes me a 'vampire'. I love vampire life style, and the moovies, and the books, but lets keep it real, and above all, not despise people that don't claim to have "amazing powers".

Actually clans were made to make a group of feeders ,to not to be alone and can be free to feed.Also to feel part of a group and protected in case you had a fight with another member of a clan.

And as for the killing,fangs etc...well you can guess my opinion!

hehe well, the natural fangs are a genetic thing. I have big canine theth, and so many many people I know. And they are defenetly not vampires just because of that. If one is born a carnivore, is natural to have big canine theeth, because it's easy to tear apart hard tissues like musclues and bones. Have you ever noticed how big are the canine theeth of a Gorila? ; )

Though some of us have vampiric tendencies, I think we can all agree that NONE here hundreds of years old, or "hunt humans" on a regular basses, or turn to dust in sunlight (we may have issues with the sun, but it won't kill us), or they were spirited out of an RPG...

because if they were then you would think they would have other things to do than try to convince others that they are the real deal...

This is a fantastic thread! I am fairly new here but I have noticed a little of what you are talking about. And frankly I think its just silly. I do not claim to know everything or even BE a vampire, I am here for the same reasons as anyone else... to learn what I can and pass on the knowledge that I have.

I mean yeah, parts of the "lifestyle" are fun. but I dont always have to walk around wearing black, sometimes its just nice to wear blue or green. GEEZ

Me and Echo have talked about this sort of thing on and off for months.

The amount of people who claim to be vampires on here is ridiculous. If they're after attention... they'll be drowned out in the masses of other ADD kiddies.

I personally see the term Vampiric very differently. In short "To suck the life out of something for continuing existance"

That is the problem. With so many people pretending they are thousands of years old. nobody is going to believe anybody believing they are vampires.

As with most people in this thread. I'm not a vampire.

I sneeze loads in sunlight, find it uncomfortable, it's similar, but it doesn't make me a vampire. Not that i know of. But again, this trait of vampirism is classic and has been recorded in fiction countless times. how do we know it even IS a trait of vampirism.

OK then we get to the psy vamp stuff. As wonderful an idea psychic powers are. Nothing has really ever been fully proven.

Then again on a personal level i always feel charged at certain times in clubs and out in forests. Am i drawing energy from around me? am i in control of this? or is a natural process we know nothing about?

who knows. some may say that could be vampiric. I just feel a bit more energised in forests.

Consuming blood, yes it will actually act like food for a human being. therefore the person might feel warmer, drinking a warm thick fluid like blood.

lets face it. EVERYTHING about vampires is suspect. and here's why.

the fiction based on all those myths and rumours and the culmination several historical figures like Vlad Tepes and Bathory.

What with all this fiction, even the famous "modern vampire killers" were mostly all just pretty bloody nuts.

If you want to talk about Vampires. go to a movie forum, or go read a book, watch a movie. or bite your boyfriend/girlfriend of two weeks and claim to be a vampire.

I like to keep it real. My eyes are really sensitive to light (and when I get my picture taken), I burn easily in the sun, and enjoy taking energy and manipulating it and blood tastes good to me. But, I do not go around telling people that I am 6000 or can juggle semi trucks or fly or anything to that effect. I enjoy sleeping during the day, and feel a charge from the night, but the sun won't make me burst into flames or anything.

We have levels, we have the PMs...
we have everything that is needed
for making layers in the society.
So the layers do not like eachother,
As the preps don`t like us,
and we don`t like them.
So we made our own place...actualy we found

well all arguments aside I am what I am.
I'm a Psy- Vamp, I drain energy at concerts and can sometimes give it back to heal others.
I don't always wear black (a deep wine colored burgundy looks great too)
I sleep all day because I work all night.
I hardly see the daylight in winter months, not that it bothers me cause I burn real easy (Irish ancestry).

I think the best way to get around this kind of talk is to just express yourself in a way that would prove to be "too strong" for others to accept and that we all would benefit to open up our eyes to the possibility of anything.

I, in no way, shape or form claim to be a vampire. Am I horribly fascinated with them, absolutely! Do I believe they exist? Duh! I'm tired of the wanna-bes as well, or rather those claiming to be who are most certainly not, this includes the teens as well as the adults. Would I like to be one? Sure, but I'm not expecting it to happen, nor will I ask for it.
I immensely dislike sunlight, I enjoy blood play and consuming blood(as well as having mine consumed), I enjoy biting and being bitten. I also seem to feel more energized in certain situations and more drained in certain situations. Does this make me a vampire? I dunno, you tell me. I'm here to learn and meet like minded people, as well as to enjoy good conversation.

I only believe that the soul can live for many more years than a body, and pass from body to body (as in reincarnation). But you do NOT remember all of your past life experiences, in some extremely rare cases, you do remember bits and pieces, but not your entire life. A bit touchy of a subject as well- kudos on your gutsy attitude about this, I'm sure many frown on this opinion stated.

vampires r real but not the hollywood version vampires were created from the bible when cain killed able he was cursed into darkness and could not be quenched of thirst other than by blood and he was not filled unless he ate of ashes the fear of the cross came about because god had cursed him and he knew that salvation would never again be his in all regards the only true vampires would be that of the offspring dirrectly from cain and you could not be TURNED into a vampire its a birthright of sorts

Myself I find some of the "game" players quite amusing . Hope the game is not their entire "life" . In any place or situation you find individuals of many sorts just as you do here . My intent was to find others with sililar interests and I have . I have also come across others as well . You must have tolerance of the undesirable if you wish to ever leave your domain . As with any Vampire site you will have posers , players , interested parties , human blood drinkers , psychic vampires and real Vampyres . Yes children I know that Vampyres exist . Many may laugh at this , but they have never visited my domain , nor "lived" my life . I am no expert on the undead , but have had many curious things transpire .

Might as well give my 2 cents of US currency. As far as people believing they are mythical creatures going back to Cain, Vlad, or what ever tale you believe is crazy. Like the ones stating they have killed, I bet if they ever saw a dead body they would run from it. Death is not a pretty thing especially when they body is either blown up in parts or rotting for days.

Drinking blood or taking energy from a person is your thing then I have nothing against it. That is your way of life but please do not insult us as a community that you are 1000 years old and blah blah blah. I am not impressed. Vampirism is a way of likfe and to each there own.

Well spoken DarkAdmin. I have a bit of an obsession with studying crime, and because of that, have seen many pictures of dead bodies in different states. Just pictures, never the real thing, and I *still* have the occassional nightmare featuring an image I have seen.

I may have a fascination with vampires but that fascination goes much deeper, its not just vamps, I heavily study demons, and mythical creatures. Do they exist? Not sure but eventually I hope to find out.

I once got criticised for reading too many Anne Rice books and then claiming I was a vamp. But the person didn't know the reasoning behind my reading. I knew I was a vamp long before I started reading... I was reading simply for the sake of analysing how and if Anne Rice could incorporate the real thing with fiction... or to see how much of what she wrote was actually true.

Same goes for my passion for vampire related films... slowly slowly I'm trying to see all the vampire related films that I can... not because i want to learn anything, but because th mind of the script writer and the director fascinate me... I want to know how much they really know... or what their view of vampirism really is.

As for people claiming that they have killed someone... well done.... you should be really ashamed of yourself... especially in this day and age... no matter if you really need to feed.... you shouldn't kill anyone... where has etiquette gone? Ask politely!

The fact that people love to play and be who they are not...will always remain true. Whether they simply fall into playing a role, be it staying up all night or getting a rush from a packed concert, or they specifically design their life around a specific fantasy...

All that can be said is that there are pretenders, and there are lifestyles...

as for what my thoughts are...they follow everyoneelse's... imnot a vampire and anyone claiming to be has just got to stop it cuz theyre lying and the name i have for pople who lie about themselves to "fit in" if posers... i know its offensive, but think on the implications...poseing is acting, wearing a mask, putting on a show. its the people masqaerading as such that the stereotype of goth comes from and frankly, they need to be shot. i know its cold and mean, but i have no patience for those who are to cowardly to be themselves.
but that's a bit off-topic. youre thread is really amazing echo...did you know that? lol. hmm... ive probably forgotten half of what i was gonna say, but im not supposed to be here yet i dont think...i do have my own puter now, but i think the ban on "goth sites" stands at myhouse still...closed-minded people are annoying. ill check back though to see if ther eare any new points brought up though.

Echo...excellent forum and to all...well said. I thrive on information, be it presented as fact or fiction, I can intergrate the info that fits and toss the rest. I am always looking for information the challenges my peceptions but lets face it some stuff is just not real.
I believe we can make our own choices. I do not want to inflict my belief system on another and resent another trying to do so with me. I think it has to do with respecting each other.

AAAANYWAY back to the subject. I've also found here an interesting point. people hate to be labeled: "I hate to be labeled! Damn labelers.. Can't they see I am a Nosferatu vampire from the whatchamacallit clan.... Filthy Humans! COMMONERS!! POSERS!! WANNABEES!" hehehe We al label things, it is a way to understand things better, to group them by characteristics. Labels are everywhere. People that don't like to label are labeled as people who don't like labels.. and they label other people as Ignorants.. blah blah blah, etcetera.. tilll the end of time ;)
