Human condition?
Human drama?
Does the fourth dimentional quality of the net speed up the dynamics of human political interaction and hasten the inevitable clashes of personality?
I think people fighting or threatening others on the net is stupid because unless youre in the same place theres nothing to back up the threat with.
i dont know because i dont know whether the politicians email or IM each other or not
it's pretty complicated. if anything i think it just makes some matters worse.
I'm not sure exactly how you mean the question. With that said I think that the internet brings out the worse in people since there is no physical contact. People can pretend, boast, or bully without the fear of being proved wrong.
It just seems to have the ability to travel at the speed of Duh nowadays.
I definitely think the internet can bring out the worst in people, I've witnessed some pretty off the wall things since I first turned my pc on 8 years ago.
On the flip side, I think it offers people a somewhat safe means of expressing who they are without fear of any real physical harm coming to them.
It's just a shame that some people take advantage of the anonymity to use, manipulate and lie to people.

Me too some real off the wall stuff, from faked deaths as you know to pretending to be a different Gender lol....
I think it is easy for people to use this as a form of bullying etc
There's gender flipping, "MPD's", folks pretending to be "who" they're not, god complex's, then there's the whole "pitty me" type of drama.
Much like the Bush administration, the net has seen some bad times. It's what you make of it that counts.
True, I have made some very good friends online. Guess you dont so much hear about the good things as much as the horror stories..maybe a new thread..:winks:
As it sbeen said too already, we are able to be more open about ourselves and that cant be a bad thing
Ack - I know about the gender thing.
In fairness, I have made some very good friends online, so it's not all bad. You just have to be prepared for whatever comes your way, much like offline.
The thing is, if you lie you CAN be found out, and if you're unlucky enough to be found lieing, continuing the lie is just foolish.
The net brings so many people together, clash of personality is inevitable, but i think it does speed it up because you're less likely to be polite in a letter/post than you are face to face.
Thats true enough i do think your inhibitions are freed up and not just in a sexual manner , I think a lot of pent up emotions are able to come to the fore more easily..
Duh.. wrong section. I'm surprised you weren't told already ;)
