What do you think? Are these guys Empaths using their talent for all the wrong reason, or something different?

I'm an Empath and am quite capable of feeding off someones emotions if I wanted to, but i think thats an abuse of my gift, but I think others arent so scrupulous.

Whats your opinion?

Emphats and psy-vampires are different.

The meaning of emphatic means that you feel what others are feeling.

While psychic vampirism is feeding off their energy/emotions.

I think they can be either.

I am an empath too. I do not feed off of people, but I have had loved ones "feed" me when I have been ill.

I think that some Psy Vamps are probably empaths that do use thier ability to feed, but I do know some that are definately not empaths too.

Yes, Empaths do feel what others do, but those of us who are stronger can also effect the emotions of the people around us on a large level.

I'm sure quite a few will talk about "broadcasting" and letting people know *exactly* how they're feeling.

I however, have also found recently that i can feed off people that are experiencing strong emotions, its not just being able to sense them anymore.

Thats why i was wondering, is Psy Vampirism merely the next step up from Empathy, or something else, or maybe the two cross over.

I believe this topic was addressed once already in another thread, yet seeing a revival isn't always a bad thing.

Sanguin = Those who feed upon the blood of others.

Pranic = Those who feed off the entense emotions of others

Psychic = Those who Pull the Life Energy (mana) from others.

This should pretty much clear it up. Yet most of us do have secondary means of feeding, incase the primary means isn't readly available. So for me my secondary is Pranic and mainly lyes in Sexual activities, A.k.A Lust.

I wanted to know what people opinion on actual Psy Vamps and what they were. specifically

The energy draw is easier done with a magickally created link, I have someone i'm linked to constantly that i exchange energy with all the time, depending on whether she needs a boost or i do.

The emotional feed i can do at any time with any single person.

I use a lot of energy, because i'm a white Light worker, i'm just as capable of drawing it from mother nature as i am from other people though.

Well like I said Psy vampyres are those who are able to draw out the life energy of others from distance or touch. Usually Psy vampyres feed from large crowds to get what they need in a hurray without causing to much suspicion if a few people feel slightly tired.

Now feeding upon a singular person in this manner can cause a person to become extremly tired which means they are exhausting their resource. If the donor gets fed upon to much what ends up happen is the prey falls into Sympathetic vampyrism. In which case, the prey now must feed on those who have energy in order to regain the balance of energy they have lost.

After regaining the balance, wether the body regenerates it or the Prey pulls it from another source, then they loose the desire to pull the energy and become "normal" once more.

Yet, depending upon how long the figure was drained for, how much, and how many times the person had to pull from another source can change the fact if the normal person will every regenerate life energy normally or if the figure will become dependant upon the energy of others, much like a drug, so much constantly feed even though they have enough life energy without drawing it from others.

Life energy also counts in the fact that elemental energy gives life as well. In which one takes from the world, without taking it from the normal people about us. Usually this energy isn't as strong unless you find places of intense spiritual nature or a great abundents of the same element within the area.

Some call the Natural Elements of Life energy Mana.

Psychic vampires sometimes choose to feed the way they do because of the risks, both physical and metaphysical, involved with sanguine feeding. One of the members of my Family is a sanguine vampire who chooses to feed pranically in part because of these risks.

Its how I try to feed, yet since my Wife is not here, my viable donor. I have no other means then to pull through Psy wise. Which is hard for me to get any real energy, but a little is still better then no energy what so ever.

empathy in itself is the ability to understand emotions

to be an empathic you not only have suade over those emotions but have a broader understanding of them

and how to twist yes those without self control or proper teachings will abuse such a wonderful gift I myself prefer to use it on those who are depressed down and out thus raising their happiness so they are less of a sadden tale

Taking blood or the "sanguine" root has never appealed to me, but then i dont consider myself a Vampire, i'm Fae and blood magick doesnt suit my spiritual make-up.

I'm an energy being who works best with the dual celestial beings of the Moon and Sun depending on the time of year.

It was someone suggesting to me that my energy draws from my friend were a form of Psychic Vampirism that pushed me into asking what people thought of it

Isn't that just like feeling someonelses pain, which we all can do, as we relate to their situation?

No the thread I was refering to was whether or not empaths were related to psyvamps, but oh well..

my boyfriend is both of those...:)
