I wish to discuss matters with regards to the walking dead... *hesitates* zombies. I am not particularly interested in Necromancy, but more the possibilities of more modernised methods of resurrection - viruses, diseases and the like.

Theres a book actually on that, it's full of spells and all sorts of stuff involving ailments, diseases, viruses, etc. on Vampires and Zombies. It's called Spells of the Undead. It sounds really cheesy but it's very good. It's also all written latin XP

If you look around the world today we seem to be knee deep in the walking dead as is! lol okay enough with the jokes. I'm sure that is possible to re-incarnate someone. Although I neither know nor wish to know how. Everyone's life has a purpose, and when that purpose is met, we die. If we have no purpose then we wander aimlessly...like a bum in a mall, forever looking but never buying anything

I have heard of a book, I can't think of the name right offhand, that talks about how to survive a zombie attack.

Its pretty messed up that the government has rules on dealing with zombies also... yet the government also claims they don't exist.

There is a website that talks about zombies and the government but it is a hoax. It has come up on various message groups I have belonged to and if you read deep into it, it will tell you its a hoax.

I believe that those that practice forms of voudun have ways of giving people certain combinations of herbs that give the appearance of death but the person just has lowered respiration. They even get buried sometimes but they are dug up and brought out of this coma like state. I have seen documentaries on this but so long ago I don't remember the details but they aren't really dead but due to superstition labeled zombies by the cultures involved.

I belive there is a chance that one day we will have creatures like zombies. With some new virus that gets people.

Don't believe everything you see in the movies. Movies are for entertainment purposes only.

There is a very interesting and entertaining book on the shelves called "The Zombie Survival Guide" written by Max Brooks.
It outlines everything from myths and realities to combatant techniques, to defense from, and how to live in a world overrun by the walking dead. Although it is very well written and outlined, it is FICTION but very entertaining none the less.

From what I understand, New Orleans has a history of this type of thing. Goes along with their culture and voodoo beliefs. I will be back with a site to view I hope.

This site explores alot of the culture and belief behind Zombies. Many people still feel that they are in the world today - and perhaps they are. I watched something on Discovery Channel once where people would actually cleanse the person to become a Zombie so that any diseases or decay would not affect the living.

Good luck finding info. I have read and watched a few things that went over what real zombie was. But ...........

They are real to alot of cultures all over the world ... Haiti I believe is very fond of them.

divinemisskat gave a very funny source. The "Zombie Survival Guide" is a very good read. I have a copy of it myself. A lot of points that are in it are actually good ways to handle yourself.

Zombies would be rather nasty to deal with if they existed on a mass scale. I don't knowif they exist or not, but until it is disproven I'll indulge a bit into the idea that they do.

BloodAngelX please tell us what a real zombie is..your point of view..?

Modern day Haiti has thousands of people that are zombies...places like Haiti where voodoo is the main religion, the art of zombie making has been around for hundreds of years.

It is basically destroying a person's will - they use the poison of the pufferfish which kills off the left side of the brain and the person basically'dies' and is 'resurrected' to become a zombie..

No really that is interesting it would explain a lot of the zombie sightings there.

I heard that there is a small village somewhere in Africa that actually does turn people into zombies. Something about trying to escape slavery and they try by killing themselves. When this happens a medicine man or which doctor turns the slave into a zombie.
Not sure on the details, it was a few years since I seen the special.

voodoism may help you with this i heard that they have mastered it to some what.

do a news link search for "Zombie Dogs" and see what comes up - it's possible to resurrect from the dead but it has to be within a certain time frame and from very controlled measures.

I just googled haiti zombies and got tons of sites... also voodoo will assist in that as well. I scanned some pages and then wrote down here what I remembered from them. It is very fascinating when you do read up on it.

Some day I'd love to write a story from the zombie's perspective... I mean why not? We humanise animals, and zombies would have actually been human once.

Not that I believe in zombies, but they certaintly are a fascinating subject. I love all of the Zombie movies.. it is a bit of a cult thing I guess :)
