As I stood at the War Memorial today, honouring the fallen who had died in the World Wars, and as the trumpet bellowed out the sound of the Last Post, I shed a tear or three as I thought of those brave people who had given up their lives and had as their memorial, ‘Given up their tomorrows for our todays” I don’t understand why I feel so morbid about death at this moment in time, as surely death sets us and our soul free. I even dream of death, but not my own, but of tragedy in the hundreds. Is there anyone out there that can interpret morbid dreams, or explain the morbid feeling of death?
This is fantastic.... I had no idea...
HAVE no idea on how to interpret this at all...
I hope soemone does.
once again i may be wrong about this, but the morbid mood could from the fact that u face death as a reality...
other days u know death does exist but, like a legend or something, like god or so...
i hoped i did help u, even with my poor english...
Well K, when I was young I dreamt of a fire, a great fire in a place that was under the surface that had wooden escalators. In no time at all the fire had consumed the place and many people had died. Then I was morbid, such an awful feeling and shortly afterwards my premonition came true and there was a great fire in one of the Underground Stations in London.
I awoke just as dawn was breaking a few days ago from another very bad dream of many people travelling at high speed that looked like it was in a carriage of some sort and the journey came to an abrupt end. Then the feeling of being morbid set in again. Later that day it was on the news there was details of a train crash that occured at exactly the same time that I woke up.
Now I wake to a dream of sitting in London in an outdoor cafe and its so cold, and I see a rocket fly over the Houses of Parliment and people running for their lives but yet there was no explosion..just smoke and I have that feeling again of being morbid and of death.
Hey Em,have you looked at it as a past life vision. Some people have them in their sleep being able to see things from the past that happened.I've dreamt of the Chicago fire from either a firefighter or a citizen helping point of view.I can never get the person to look at themselves in a glass so i could narrow the person down but it's really interesting.I do have to agree it's a feeling of mortality, finality, and realization of ones own potential life span that many never let come up until it knocks you on your butt.
I appreciate your viewpoint pandora, alas most of these dreams come true after I dream about that, its really most discerning particulary the feeling of mortality and loss.
Is there anybody else who dreams of future events?
I actually have, but I usually dream of things and places that I will be going in years to come. It's kind of strange. I have dreamt of bad things twice. Once my grandparents were going back up to NY from FL. I knew something was going to happen to one of them but I didn't know what. The next day my grandfather got hit by a car. The next time was when I was goin up to NY for my grandparents anniversary. I had a feeling something bad was going to happen but I didn't know what. Then 9/11 happened. I wish I could be of some help to ya Em.
Oh, that is bizarre also Angel and the feeling isn't it just horrible? *shivers*
It has been my experience that Angelpie is more than mildly precient. It's just plain creepy, I tell ya.
Oh-tay... Ive had the afternoon and then some to anylize this series of dreams... heres what i got...
It has been my exp. that with certain people... the vein seems to be thinner than others.. understand the term veil? Hope so...
Anywho...
The forces that cause these things to happen sometimes overstep that veil... and thier emotions of being envolved with the events that have occured seep into those of us that are more... receptive?...shall we say...
This is a short answer, I know.
It's the only viable one I've can find for my own little problem...
(feelin a little hollywood)
I see dead people.
roflmao
its true though. I do... during the Samhain celebrations of the night, some selected friends and I gathered ourselves at Hollywood Cemetery (see link in file).
Its one of the oldest cemeterys on the east coast.
Everytime i get a chance I take flowers to a young woman who grieves beside the grave of her lost love. He was a confederate officer. You can see her there when the stars are shining brightly.
This is what i got for ya Em....
Em, it is a very horrible feeling and then when something happened it totally freaked me out. K, loved your answer.
V-man, you have no idea what you're talkin bout hon.
I dream a little in both, but not as much these days
I dream translate often, so please feel free anyone to message me anytime.
i have had those feelings before.I actually had one in the middle of work about t friend and told him to watch out when he was driving on a weekend. He comes back on monday and tells me that he was almost t-boned by a car but he remembered what isaid and hit the brakes before it flew by.
ok i cant go with out answering this post.. ive had visions and or dreams like em's but if someone i know or somone close to me.. i have the abiltity to feel what they feel like emotions and thoughts and i know its me but not.. i dont know how to really describe it.. another preson you should talk to is king as me and him are on somewhat the same level of esp or w/e you want to call it
...in thinking about this, i have always had a morbid fascination with death - i like to look at blood and dead bodies (rotten.com here i come! :) and i am always the one hogging up the tv watching all those forensic shows. i LOVED the HBO series "Autopsy", and "faces of death" rule! was blessed enuff to be able to go to see the "Museum of Death" when it was open in L.A. it was really cool! (last i knew it was closed for moving - that was a couple of years ago - could be open again - i highly recommend!)
...i don't think death is morbid, nor the preoccupation with it - it's only natural - no matter how you look at it. :)
Hmm, paramour so you think its something more psychological and related to watching bad taste tv shows? Well everybody is entitled to their view but, uhuh I don't think so. It is an unnerving and draining experience to be so closely involved with real life events that have been dream material and it can have an adverse effect depending on the strength of the individual and the strength of the dream.
K, thankyou so much.. I believe I understand the veil.. in these premonitions that some of us VR users have, I'd say the veil is pretty well off. Interesting about the graveyard and dead people, its stikes a familiar chord..
I often have dreams that come true as well. It is just another form of psychism. It is like having a premonition or vision. Sometimes it is easier for others to recieve through their dreams when we our less inhibited then when we in are in our waking life.
One time I had a dream that a friend of mine was at her grandpa's funeral and when she came to school she began to cry. The next day she was away and I asked "Oh, where's Ashley?" and they said "At her Grandpa's funeral" - it's nothing new to me though - I've had the gift since I was a child.
Thats interesting Janette darling.. it fascinates me how many of us here dream premonitions. Umm, has anybody ever done dream chasing? i.e woken up in the middle of such a clear vision dream, didn't reach its end, and tried to go back in there?
That doesnt always work for me, however, and when it doesn't I conclude that I was never meant to know the end.
Now these missiles over London are worrying me ..it keeps re-occuring presently.
going back to the beginning of the post emmy..I too cannot helkp but to shed the water supply at these times.....and yet with all the funerals i've been to never a drop....I think it is only intentional death that causes the mobid sensation in me....
accidents never bother me.....but murders and self terminations cause both greif and rage.....even when I don't know the person.....just the concept of a life removed from it's cycle injures my view of the world.
I've dream chased before, it takes practise but I'm usually good at going back in there and retrieving the place where I left off.
