Please R.I.P. this message if needed...I just didn't have a chance to explain what happened. I didn't mean to disrespect anyone in the earlier thread, I guess I was pretty ticked off. But anyway, here's what happened...I'd like to know who'd do this to me, why, and how do I prevent it from happening again??

My gender was changed from female to male...My location was altered...a few lines were missing here and there all the way down the pro page, and the word "Asshole" was replacing the word "Storm" in my quote. (Hence my comment earlier.)

Someone please fill me in here.

do you have a brother or sister who could have accessed your accoutn and changed the info as a joke??? if not it might have been a hacker might want to check your security...

That's more of a possibility than a hacker.

You account was probably hacked... not a good thing

it wouldnt be an admin. um um then likey hacked though. ive been hacked alot but not on this site. change ur password or something...good luck...

If you dont your password written down anywhere then you must of been hacked; I hate to say ti but have you made any enemies lately as for someone to target JUST you then they must of known your profile name, as if it was annonymous they probably would have done it en masse.

Your profile is YOURS, and a lot of people spend a lot of time on them, and I'd be gutted if someone did that to me.

This is the 1st time i have ever heard of this, maybe Cancer could help you out. I don't think he'll mind you bringing this to his attention. THis is a very serious thing. Sounds like the only way someone could of done this is with your account password.. I bet there are a few 100 people on here with theit pass ass Vampire, dracula or something.. at the end of the day a hacker allready has the screen name and some passwords will be easy to guess.. I hope nothing like this happens to you again.. *people don't make your password hard to guess.. like impossible!*

Change your password to something somewhat random as soon as you can. I don't see why an admin would change your profile like that. It was proabaly a hacker who got lucky. Was your password an "easy" word to guess?

someone went into your computer history and got on to your name. Password or not sometimes by going in the history you can be logged on without hitting your password. Get a cache cleaner to clean your history after each use

plus put up a newer or stronger Firewall on your security System..
dont forget to update then as much as possible....maybe this will help you against another attack

someone did that to me on yahoo before went and changed my profile putting dif pic on and changing all my info dont know how

Sometimes if you are on a public computer it could save your password.

to many public pc s save that is why i stay away from them. it happen to me once

It's almost impossible to diagnose what happened. I can only provide a couple of possibilities.

Your browser is setup with auto complete (always a bad idea). Passwords are saved and it's easy to get into your account (from your own computer).

Your account password was guessed. This is only likely if you're using a very standard password.

Your session was hijacked. This is quite possible. This is also why I make the system log you out after about 10 minutes of inactivity. It's hard to explain how it works, but using this method, a hacker doesn't need your password.

If you're on a wireless connection, anyone within range could easily hack your connection.

You're using a public proxy server. Some one sniffed your password the last time you logged on.

There are other possibilities. That's just off the top of my head.
