I was just wondering, and this may be a simple question but, why is it that many humans want to be a vampire when they experience being a vampire in their dreams. Can anyone help me?
people often wish to be something they are not.......
grass is greener on the other side of the fence and all that shit
and there is a lot of romance and power associated with the vampire due to hollywood....
me...I just try to be who and what I am....
finding contentment with yourself is sometimes harder than hoping to be something else...
I've been on both sides. Human and vampire in my dreams. If we can experiance what we believe it would be like to be a vampire in our dreams, why not just embrace it. It's wonderful that we can sleep at night and be in a different world.
I do like that question though it is an interesting one.
people want to be diferent, they want to be immortal, they want to be something mythical...not just some ordinary human...
And maybe its because when you dream and specially when that dream is nice, then its something in you- it has left some good feeling inside...And thats why you long for that feeling to come.
However it can be lying( i mean that feeling) because the feeling you dream about and havent experienced for real doesnt have to be true.
I would take being an immortal who has to kill to live over nothing ..over death over an endless nothingness over being forgotten over never seeing anything I loved again wouldn't you ???
Vamping out in a dream would be nothing to being Vamped for real ...yay!!! bring on the bloodsuckers ....*giggles*
true it is of the human nature to want what you can not have, and that is why we find things so interesting...
i haven't dreamt of being a vampire why be something like that no i dream of flying and being animals and other things sometimes i dream of my future its becomeing harder and harder finding the line between dream and my dreamt future
i once heard that dreams are the way that our subconscious mind is trying to remind us of what we once were or had. that our past is trying to show itself to us so that we don't make the same mistakes or taht we don't yearn for the same things. You know, if you dream of flying, then your mind is tryingot you something like you used to be a pilot or just a bird. Something like that.
So I think that by dreaming of being a vampire or something to that extent, it is our minds telling us that we use to hunt. Whether it was for food or for fun, we still did it. And we, unfortuantly, translate these dreams with what we know in this life so, so that is where the vampire comes in. A blood thirsty hunter.
I hope that I worded this right and that you understand what I am trying to say.
For me I would take that adventure, I hate the daylife i'm forced to live now. I hate the people of day, to me i seek being in the dark, walking the streets when no one is around.
I have never dreamt of bein a vampire. People want to be one because it seems so glamourous, thanks to Hollywood and blockbuster films. Its made ou to be something its not. They forget, modern day vampires, still work, pay rent and have to do their own washing. Its not all its cocked up to be. Some people should start realizing that.
I agree with what radu said...people want what they cannot have.
wow thanks alot, you've all given me some insight on this topic.
Interesting question. But I have to agree, people want what they cannot have in reality. There is a sexy, mysterious side to wanting to be a vampire, weither in your dreams or not.
dreams are great, true, but often so much better than reality it would be great to actually have them be real rather than just a figment of my imagination.
it is true that people want what they cant have, i agree with that
Perhaps it is the flood of vampires in films, books, stories, folklore ?
Perhaps humans being on top of the food chain envision something other than human as being one step above feeding off of them as humans do cattle.
Perhaps the romance of a being destined to live essentially forever but at the price of killing.
Perhaps its just human natrue to dream of being more than humans are....
K
personally, i think people should be ashamed to say that being human is ordinary. I mean that's like a slap in the face to our creators. We are a work of art, just as anything else living in this world. Being a vampire to me is just as amazing as being a whale. Nobody should ever think that being human is lowly. I give my respects to everything that is living in our world, no matter what they are.
I don't believe anyone is truly happy being who they are. Humans will always strive for something more, hand onto ideals to make their life better. Everyone needs a aspiration, it helps to keep our hearts beating.
At the end of the day don't try to become something you can not be. Rather concentrate on making better what you have.
my dreams seem so real and so vivid when i have them about vampires. it seems fun and an escape from the world as it is now thats why i would want to be an immortal after dreams
i'd like to kill people and make them do my will..also, i'd like to be something other than what i am..it sucks when you hate your self, your stuck..
for a human, experiencing a dream with a vampire or even being a vampire themselves is very different for them.
you feel on top of the world, powerful, passion, lust, and you want it
that is why humans urge to become vampires, to eternally feel emotions that they will probably never feel as being a human
does it help lol?
I dont view what a vampire is like most do here obviously. to me being a vampire just means you're an energy feeder. I don't see the greatness in that.
Things that are not understood are often given mystical elements and seen as better than they are. A dream is also a manifestation in the mind, and can distort reality to the point hwre a dream can influence someone in ways they never hought possible. I had a dream a few days ago about oging to 'Heaven' which I do not believe in... but that day I couldn't stop thinking about it. My point is that an itnerest can be influenced in dreams as our perspective changes.
