LoL im sorry but when i think of gang it reminds me of cleveland and all the different colored bandanas and stuff they were and the fighting and shooting.
i think it's just another way of seperating and grouping and giving each group(clan) a name...
so it's pretty much like a gang only im hoping there's no bandanas LoL
Maybe not bandanas... but still... "colors" are worn in some manner.
In the way one dresses... acts... speaks.. who they turn..
where they live
what they do for a living...
:)
clans are a more elegant/mafia way of doing it :)
yeah thats the way i see it, just dont like the thought of clan wars, but that wont happen on here.
It's pretty much a group of people that share a certain interest.
Well, a clan is a word that simply refers to a family, or group of families, which share a common ancestor. The word is Gaelic and was originally used to describe the Scottish clans. You know, "I'm Duncan MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod and I've come to take your head." While both Connor and Duncan were from different generations, distant cousins at best, they both hailed from the same clan.
Truly, a clan is a flesh-and-blood and marital relationship. The term has been extended to imply kinship of close-knit friends as well; kindred spirits. That's called a clique or a coterie, but has been used as a fancy name for a gang.
The "clans" you'll encounter here on VampireRave, or anywhere that discusses vampires, are one of two kinds: Vampire Households, or Kindred Clans. The latter being the bloodlines detailed in the role-playing game Vampire: The Masquerade.
What any label establishes is a specific kind of adjective: a stereotype. A way to identify the means and motives of a group of people. People will always find a group of people they fit in with and shun those who do not belong. It's this rejection of others that don't belong in your group, the outcasts, that makes using stereotypes "bad".
A traditional social unit in the Scottish Highlands, consisting of a number of families claiming a common ancestor and following the same hereditary chieftain.
A division of a tribe tracing descent from a common ancestor.
A large group of relatives, friends, or associates.
*myself i see a clan as a close family
