as i recall a number of other presidents were also going to release all the ufo information the govt has. the info always turned out to be ...its mostly weather balloons, planet venus., etc.

I'll believe it when I see it, and when it comes to the ability to cover things up, I don't know if I'll even believe it then.

I don't know what the government would expect to gain by covering up such things. I also know that doesn't mean that they wouldn't cover up something like aliens or UFOs. However, for right now I can't be bothered losing any sleep over it one way or the other until it jumps up and bites me in the ass.

If there are secret files I would hope that Obama would have the courage and the trust in the American people to reveal them.

Whether the information is supposedly declassified and released to the public or not, the whole stigma surrounding such events is never going to bring truth to the public. You can't trust the government, and you certainly can't trust the media. You combine both of those entities with that type of information and you get nothing of value.

What little information they will release will be so full of holes as usual. look at any other declassification papers. only some of the facts will be released enough to start a frenzy on UFO's again.

Yeah but if private contractors only handle some parts and not all than its hard to disern whats what. We work on a gov't missle project and was only allowed one section to work, we never knew the whole project because each section was done by others and we could not get their info to make sure all the steel worked. this is how it is handled.

Whatever may be released is probably from many, many years ago... and wouldn't have any relevance, today.

What would make more sense... if there was an International Conference where some of the more recent sightings (French, Russian, Mexico, etc.) could be commented on. And, not the ones that have been proven to be "hoaxes".

Well, I've seen UFOs too. But let's remember what a UFO is. Was it flying? Can you identify it? Great! Then it's an Unidentified Flying Object. That doesn't make it extra-terrestrial.

So I think there is a very good chance that there are other planets populated with intelligent life. It's simply a matter of odds. Some may have managed to conquer the problems with attempting to exceed light speed. Some may even have traveled to Earth.

However, with all of the probably, possible and "could have happened" stated, what solid objective evidence do we have to support the claim that extra-terrestrials are coming to Earth in unidentified flying craft? Are we all that exciting to study? If beings from other planets are traveling all the way to Earth, isn't there a pretty good chance they're passing through numerous solar systems with far more interesting life forms?

Part of the UFO phenomena is based on sound probabilities. The rest seems to be founded on people's never-ending fascination with themselves; their human-centricity. We're just not that cool, not that interesting and quite likely, not all that intelligent.

So it could be happening but I find it quite unlikely. And if one sides with the objective evidence, I don't see any.

If Earth is a focus for extra-terrestrial travel, then why would the government be the only ones with solid evidence? And if they have solid evidence, what makes anyone think the president (a man not likely to hold office for more than 4-years and not allowed to hold it for more than 8-years), would be privy to decades of top secret information? He certainly doesn't need that kind of information to make his daily political decisions. So perhaps Obama will arrange to have some information released. But if there is anything really worth knowing, then it's likely the stuff even presidents aren't made aware of and we certainly won't be seeing it.

you have to feel pretty self-important to think that there isn't other life forms in the universe. Though I also believe that if people believe strongly enough of something they see things. I don't believe in ghosts but yet others believe it. I have never seen God but others believe in him/her. (If the human brain is so powerful that some have the ability to move objects with their mind, why isn't it possible that they manifest the ghosts but I guess that is another subject not yet posted) lol back to the point at hand, but I would like to believe that aliens exsist to make life more interesting.

Been out there and seen the armed men in the jeeps. but maybe a nuclear site. speculation on all majorities of what is out there.

Well, I lived in Las Vegas, and it was about a half-hour drive out to one of the many enterances of Area 51. They even had a sign that pointed to the direction of area 51, and showed a billboard of an alien. They also had a diner and gift shop, and they sold fake alien ID cards. It was amusing. But I will say that Nevada is diffinately a place where they test out many things. I lived near the desert and there would be planes flying in the distance, you could hear sonic booms every once in a while.
Also, if it was only a nuclear plant, why would the identities of the workers be so secretive. Also, I lived near where the bus would pick up their employees. They block out the windows, so even the employees don't know where they are going.

To those who have seen, for me personally and the hundred fishermen fishing Seaton beach all seen it move across the coast, and all reported it, myself being one im a believer. Presently someone was caught lighting paper lanterns that float through the sky causing more UFO reports, only problem was what we seen was not the lanterns. However those afraid to believe use this debate to poo poo it coz someone was faking it once and no science or logic as we know can have aliens fly this far coz we are limited on what were aloud to think.

When I did my degree in media, I found it interesting how alien films were used to please the American public and vote that president in. so ET was made and people voted that president out, then “independence day” was made(subtle title) where the president fought the aliens and that president politics stayed in power.

Now with that knowledge, what do you think the choice will be?

I am a believer that life did not only progress in life here on mother earth. That life is bound to survive, at no cost. thus scientific proves this to us. an what would we consider alein, not from earth. well nasa has staed that sample of mars contained what had been life. so would this be alein or foreign matter spread from earth.

I ask not anyone to believ or turn from their own faith or faction. I state the facts wether it would be believe in religion or your wown belief in something.

So we must determine alein, and not the movie to consider life from somewhere else. so if this is the case, maybe infact their technology would be ahead or behind us. and if this is to ponder than we must say that they may infact have space ships.

Okay. If the government were testing a new top secret aircraft, you wouldn't be able to identify it would you? If you could, then obviously it wouldn't be top secret, right?

So what makes you so certain this aircraft was of extra-terrestrial origin? It seems to me you're just filling in the unknown with what you wish it to be, rather than recognizing that most people can only properly identify a small percentage of even the standard models of aircraft they see.

Ok the UFO and the first one iv seen with a lot of people fishing the south west of Cornwall onto Seaton beach (they used to train for world war two landing on D day).
Five golden lights light up the sky in the clouds like a plane coming in to land about a mile or so away.
They dropped from the cloud cover to about half way on the horizon .. “looking to land a plane on the beach” we joked and comments like “must be training again for D day”.
The five lights still in formation coming towards us made no sound … just the waves rolling on the shore and the odd cough from the fishermen all watching the same sight.
We tried to ID it as maybe helicopters all shining a light forward or a new type of plane but watching it drop from the clouds to horizon so fast couldn’t even be helicopters in the 80’s when this happened.
Now the perfect formation of five lights skimmed above the water and proceeded to us… a lot of fishermen started to pack up the rods and move out of it’s path and run up the beach.
The lights went into the water no splash and light up the sea still moving same speed to us my Dad and fire friends all started to check there watches calling out the time and shouting it’s a UFO and from the speed it was going was about to smash up on the beach in about 20 seconds, so we also ran up the beach out of it’s way.
The lights went out in the sea and the wave they were under roared to us and smashed up the beach reaching us unlike the rest of the waves, everyone’s still calling out the time on there watches and no time was lost no lights no fire no sound just the roll of the waves on the beach, we all left.


As for area 51 … being watched as they are im sure now they have a new project and moved any ufo bits to it.

He mentions the various ways Aliens could exist in other systems, and what compounds they would exist on, what would replace water and what not.

See I am Acceptant that life could exist else where in the many systems.

But that is not enough for sensationalist, they want the complete package.

It definitely sounds like a strange flying craft. The 5-light arrangement sounds something like the most recent widely-publicized sighting over Phoenix.

Before the B2 bomber was officially announced, had someone seen a flying wing that produced no radar signature, it would have been seen as quite an anomaly and perhaps some would have suspected it was extra-terrestrial. But it wasn't.

So what about the craft you sighted was consistent with crafts of extra-terrestrial origin?

True before some hi tech craft was known we would say ooow look a UFO.
Personally I don’t know any craft that can keep a formation like it did and go into the sea and nothing … however you will find the lights of golden globes all over the area even recently.

Well, I certainly don't know of any craft in existence that can do what you described. So it's a very unique sighting at the very least. And it most certainly was a UFO because it was flying, it was an object and it was unidentified. But there is a distinction between "UFO" and "extra-terrestrial" that some people seem to avoid noting.

As I stated earlier, I've seen some rather odd "flying" craft myself. The most notable was when I was only about 14-years old. I was camping with my family and we were sleeping outside under the stars. My dad pointed out what looked like two stars overhead, except that they had little points of light, something like tiny stars, moving back and forth between them. I don't know if it was some kind of bizarre satellite activity, a trick of light from the sun shining off of something... perhaps wires between two satellites, or what. But I know I couldn't identify it and it was either flying or in orbit. There were four of us who saw it. So technically, it was a UFO. Was it extra-terrestrial? I suppose it's not outside the realm of possibility. But I wouldn't suggest it to be strongly probable.

1) I don't know anything

There have been speculations about UFOs and
"visitors" from Outer Space for millenia. A lot of debunking goes back to the early Catholic Church. If there were real proof of Aliens, then Christendom's creation theory would fall totally out of believe.

The Universe is so huge, we can barely see into the bottom of our own ocean sometimes, what we hold as theories are probably not even the grime under the toenails of "truth".

Can you handle the truth? - The truth has been existing whether we've known or acknowledged it. So why would suddenly knowing that aliens have visited us change everything? Unless they're all working at McDonalds....

What do you think? - I think it will be interesting. It's fun to think and debate about whether or not we know what the Government does.

He might have better luck now since M.I.T. has been interested for awhile in the UFO phenomenon. Not necessarily those who would give it that much credence. They held a symposium there in the mid 90s, arranged by what had been skeptical scientists. They felt there was too much abduction information to keep taking it lightly. I mention this only because professionals like this with stature may help this time in getting them to release real information. With a little push from credible people maybe this will make all the difference.

I know the government does have experimental craft. My first husband had a high clearance when in the Army and that was years ago and saw files. He worked for a General in Germany so it would depend on where they wanted to extract the information from and if what they will actually release will be that they have been experimenting themselves (unsuccessfully I would think) to play down the idea of real UFOs. This is what I would do if I released documentations, when I wanted something to more or less remain classified.

I have seen a UFO in broad daylight years ago with my brother...don't know where from, here, there or yon just that it was not a plane and it was metallic and it spun very fast in the air and could hover and zoom off quickly. If there are enough people like me that have had sightings we can also put on pressure to get things released. I just don't think most want to face the ridicule. I see it in here.

I am waiting with baited breath to hear but I am steeling myself so as not to be disappointed because these types of things and our government don't seem to ever turn out well. They have to worry about irate factions very similar to what was seen in Contact. I guess we shall see if they will be truly forthcoming and not use that big black marker. As it so happens, a retired Air Force Pilot has witnessed, and data based other witnesses that shared a sighting, his was the idea that it was an unknown craft..

Eh, for every one like this there are others that cannot be explained and if Obama knows something, then it is finally time for the government to tell. Quite frankly I think they will release something. Hypothetically if there is more, in otherwords, some group that is from somewhere else whether it be time, dimensional, inner or outer space, I think that people will panic many of them. Do we really need that to happen? It is complicated to travel in outer space for us as our technology isn't good enough for a man to go very far without dying of radiation or length of time so hopefully they will tell something. Some of these UFO "people" have PhDs, and they want to know as well and hopefully in this day and age where MOST people aren't closed minded it will be these people that Obama will consider.

Most "experimental" craft that were tested at Area 51 would be the aerial drones currently being used in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Whatever was at Roswell is probably still at Area 51.

unknown craft, i would say for alein craft we must determine aleins to exist first, Right?

I think the turn Japaneese was just a reference to any countries aircraft, yet I do seee the point because at this time bi-planes were still the airforce and not clad machines we know now. so You do bring up an arguement and the theory of weather ballons come on this is so miss used, whether baloons could not cast a circular shape and move in almost 90 degree movement at that fast sorry.

They create the appearance in a darkened sky of doing that it is the light coming on, and going lower to idle.. Another balloon charges and the "unidontfied" light "craft" appears to be another place, an optical illusion that accounts for a large number or sightings around fair time annuelly.

Come on they had to come up with something that was not detectable on most radar at the time as the so called balloons in roswell theory.

I could understand different airplanes or whatever not a balloon.

I simple state a percentage can be accounted for in this way.experimental craft another percentage, satillites another, meteors another percentage.. widdling away what is other then unidentifiable.
