i believe in everything but immortality i dont think its possible

I mean Immortality could be possible..maybe?

But Im agnostic and realy dont know much..

I believe death is only a part of life. For all I know, life is a dream.

Heaven and Hell are made-up places. Something for people to believe in. No one knows what comes after death, so they make something up to ease their fear.

An immortal is someone who cannot be destroyed. Though our bodies are vulnerable to destruction in this world, our souls are not. Souls can be hurt, but never destroyed. They are immortal.

I believe many things, I believe too many that I argue with my self. Two sides to everything. Stories here, Stories there.

I believe in Demons, The Dark One, Spirits, other worlds. Why not Such a small planet in a big Galaxy.

I have faith in my Father, tbe one I follow.
Doing what I please and what I seek to keep myself.

Heaven I suppose, yes there is such a thing but not as people display it or glorify it.

Death of course, Life of course. As we are now.

Immortality, in a different sense.

i believe in the ultimate place of final rest, heaven.... but i do believe in immortality to the point where our emotions live on forever, not our physical bodies... all the hate, love, confusion, "energy" we have does not just... disapear when we die i believe...

i dont believe in a hell or heaven...life is something hard to understand, and immortailty haha well wut kinda drugs are you on? there is no such thing!

I believe in Heaven and it is the place I want to go, since I believe in Heaven I also know there must be a Hell. We all die sometime... nobody lives forever.

In my own opinion Heaven and Hell are fictitious places conceived to help some people deal with the many horrors and atrocities that go along with life. Heaven gives some people something to look forward to and strive for after all the events they have to endure during life. Hell on the other hand was set in place to try and keep people in line, to persuade them from doing "bad deeds", whatever the culture of the time perceived those to be.

As far as immortality? You will always live on in the minds of those that knew you and will never truly die until you are completely forgotten.

i really don't know. i sure do hope there is a reward system if not oh well. I am already labled as good and good i will always be no matter what evil things i do i am always forgiven and so on. so yeah... if heaven exist i know i am not going there althought most like to think i am and if hell exist and its what they say it is then i'll be there but fire and brimstone doesn't really scare me much hurt as hell but eh. if i am locked up alone away from all i love maybe that will be my hell oh wait then i am already in hell.

I don't know.Am agnostic at the moment.Still I hope that one day I'll be rewarded my efforts.

i agree with tarq on immortality definately...but I think that it depends on the way immortality is thought of...I believe that the spirit is immortal..and the body is just a mortal shell...

but thats just me lol :)

i believe in heaven cause my grandpa is up there. i fear death and also life as well. immortality is posible and i would love to meet someone who is at least 100 years old

That is a lot of subjects all at one time! the only thing I can think of right now is Emily Dickinson's poem entitled:

Parting

My life closed twice before its close;
It yet remains to see
If Immortality unveil

Parting is all we know of heaven,
And all we need of hell.

I think that includes mostly all the headings.. tis the only thing I can think of right now for me. That and the last two lines of this poem present a powerful paradox; parting is both heaven and hell.

Ack sorry.. left out, "Pain" as the title, "Parting" is the sub-title of the above poem. "so spank me!"

I beleive that heaven and hell are myths. There is no heaven, there is no hell.

HAH! you all have the wrong idea man! there is such thing as immortality and time travel. Man has already constructed time machines, they are called cameras. yes photos capture time and you could always go back in time just by looking at the picture.video cameras also capture time and you relive those times even more vividly than by picture.someone who has accomplished so much in life becomes immortal after death, dont believe me? then tell me you dont know who charlie chaplin is. As for heaven and hell complete and udder bull... heaven is what you feel like when you are happy, hell is life is most current form, you make your own heaven and hell, as for me I worship none!!! Jorj, you have the same perspective as me on death, and Morris the same with Heaven and Hell, althoguh I think its more the definition fo what you mean than the actual all-encompassing words and whether they 'exist,'

DEATH-
As previously and efficiently mentioned, another part of life. We die in the body... but does that mean that we die in the mind, or the soul?

HEAVEN AND HELL-
I suppose that this depends on what you have decided to the DEATH 'belief'... how we die effects what places there are to go (if there is anything left of you to go there) and of course ultimatley brings up the the dreaded topic of religion. Im personalyl of the standpoint that Heaven and Hell was a way to control the people and their own consciences... we often see the evil and the good sat on either shoulder, and this is representing the same idea.

LIFE-
We consider 'this' living as, to our knowledge, this is all we have. However, some people believe they have lived before and will live again, so what we actually see as life may change. A person with a faith will have a totally different value on their life, and so do different cultures. I see life like this;

BORN------------------------------------DIE---?

Whereas if you believe in reincarnation;

BORN---DIE----BORN-----DIE------BORN---?

Until you reach whatever point you are supposed to reach inyour cycle, or maybe it goes on forever. Wouldn't that change your motivations, your value of this life?

IMMORTALITY-
I suppose that if you believe in reincarnaiton, then the soul is in a sence immortal, but not the body. I had quite a long thread going a few months back about whether one would choose imortality over mortality. I dont think I would. I don't currently believe its possible, but once again there is the idea of taking value of the life and the soul away.

In short, one thing affects another affects another, so how could any of us really say yes or no? Its a crazy chain :-)

Death is possible, Heaven and Hell I can not respond to, Life is possible, and since anything is possible Immortality can probably happen, if you believe in it.

I beleive the only impossible thing....is impossibility.... so that means I beleive in all of them....
but heaven and hell are highly improbable....not impossible tho..just improbable

i believe in all but heaven i think it is a type of cutl idea uz everyone wants to go there. or at least a majority of the ppl on earth.

I like orales idea. because thats one thing that they use to do in olden days the story of beowulf tells of how people wanted to be heros so thier names could live on and be imortalized because thats the only way they believe they would live after death. Its one thing i always believed in because what happens when one of us die. we only live on trough our families then after a while our name may ceast to exist. but look at elvis he is truely still alive because of the fact that we all know who he is his persona etc..
another thing i would like to say is about the kindom of heaven. I once had a discusion with my english professor on that and he said that he believed when jesus said that "the kindom of heaven is within" he really meant that the kindom of heaven is a place where we find peace within ourselves. That the heaven and hell can be both found on earth.

Well lets break this down here....

Life and death, we'll we live and then we die so everyone believes that. Heaven and Hell? NOW, there is a topic... "I have not seen proof or learned some trick that will save or damn my soul." Anne rice fans should recoginize that quote. Most people believe that what we do in life will echo and follow us into death and for this we will either sit by our gods side in a so called "heaven" or forever be cast into some fire chasm where we will suffer an eternal "hell". My opinion, Until I see God or Satan face to face, which everyone I am sent to, I am going tojust continue what I am doing and that is live life to the fullest and let nothing stand in my way....

Heaven and Hell are a bit tricky--something I don't spend a whole lot of time thinking about. My religion focuses more on this life than on the one hereafter. There's a little hint of it--that all souls will return back to the deity, but that's pretty much it. Aristotle and Plato postulate that "Heaven" would be when you attained that ultimate good by your intellect and can fully appreciate good things. "Hell" is for those that were too stupid to use their intelligence and thus go to a kind of intellectual void. But I'm still not entirely sure what's hereafter.

Life is another one of those things that happens every day.

Immortality...Well, I'll get back to you in a few thousand years.

i belive anything is possible. even imortality but, think if you had found how to gain imortality then would you tell the whole wester socitly, there are many monks who are old beyound count of years. who knows how old they are and what is thier secret.

I think anything is possible. It depends on your religion and belief system really though.

...well...i believe in all these...even immortality. But immortality or soul rather than immortality of life, as some think when they hear the word.

Just my opinion though.

All I really care about is life. I'll believe in all the rest but you know what? it doesn't matter at all....I won't even go into this I say it every time something like this comes up as a question. People who worry or wonder about death, heaven hell immortality can waste their lives and forget that they're LIVING now.

Many of you say that you believe that heaven and hell are fiction..just something to believe in. Well, dont you believe in anything? Really doesnt make much sense for you to say both. There is a higher power,, right? but you dont believe in anything? who's to say who is right and who is wrong. Being closed minded about one thing is still being closed minded.
