I watched 'Kingdom Of Heaven' a few days ago; and now I can get out of my head this words (I suppose you know why...):
"little evil for a graiter good"
I want to know how you feel when you read this line, and what you think..
I have a good reason for asking this.......
Its makes me think about 'little white lies'...like if your best mates asks you fo ryour opinion on an outfit and you say it looks good...when it doesn't...
Even though I do tell the truth 100% of the time...I'd rather be told I looked terrible and change it than go out looking like a fool lol...
I have not seen it, but the words make me think of war, i guess because as much as wars are bad, they are for the better of a country and the way of life
hmmm... I guess you have to do a little bad to achieve a better result?
Little evil is in everyone. There is no one that has not lied or fibbed. If someone tells you that they never have lied. That is a lie in itself. As children we grow and learn and see from out mistakes.
I believe it means, that there is a little evil in all of us and it can be used for the greater good.
Like if you tell someone they look great, but secretly you think they don't look good, you fib to keep from hurting their feelings.
Well, of course, juggaletangel...
I did something which I certantly shouldn't.. And the worst part is that at this precious moment, I don't feel bad at all. I should.. And I was...
This words... I don't really know.. Maybe this 'little evil' thing I done would lead me to a 'graiter good' or maybe 'little evil' would be if I don't say a word about what happened to anyone, and that would lead to a 'graiter good'.. It's hard to choose... And 1st one sounds brighter...
there's gotta be a little evil in order to have a little good...
somehow I have a same dilemma..
little evil felt good.. even if it doesn't lead to a greater good.. I must say that I'm glad I was wicked at the moment
its like telling a lie to do good
a little evil for the greater good, like killing one person to save an entire race.
makes me think off all the lies and under handed things that people have done in the name of the greater good
yeah.. but I think the question is.. is "little evil for greater good" ..wrong or good..
Morey's Review....
Great movie.... though was really long and my butt was killing me by the time I left and I ran out of popcorn to early!!! *mental note - next time buy a larger box*
Lliam died way to early. The graphics, teh story line, the acting... was perfect and will be buying it on DVD when it comes out
Orlando looks like he's finally come of age and nearly worth perving at ( I don't like jail bait) and there is a great scene with his shirt off for all your gilry perves out there,
It's an epic.. enjoy it.
And shessh.. the Knights Templar.. bad boys!
MM
"little evil for greater good".....hmm. for every bad thing, there is a good thing to go with it and vise versa. in order to get to the good, one must go through the bad. i guess. i dunno. haven't seen the movie yet. i'll prolly wait for it to come out for rent
thats a cool quote, definetly going in my info...
ummm, to me it means, being evil sometimes, like telling a little lie, in the end makes everything better. Sure, the lie might be revealed but for the time in between its good
guess thats what i think of it...
I suppose its about consequences... its asking whether we believe its right to commit something which may be considered wrong for a chance of getting a good outcome. I suppose it depends on the circumstances.
There wouldn't be half as many films in the world if people didn't take these risks for the greater good, as its quite a common plot. I haven't seen this film yet, btu hopefully it will be up to all the hype.
small evil used to accomplish great good should not in my opinion be called evil.....
but justifiable casualty
Never seen the movie, but it sounds like what a honst warrior who lives by the sword would say.
i hate to be a bit political but it reminds me of the goverment and all the evil the've done to achieve greatness and give us the things we have. and please no one argues this i am not trying to be political it jsut makes me think of that
Thanks for sharing InsecureDelusion, I hope that everything turns out how you want it to.
the line reminds me of "Hero" the one with Jet Li because he sacrificed his right to revenge against the emporer so that the emperor can unite Japan.
Everything does work for the best.
Focus on a good outcome.
What matters is that you made the decision and that someone else didn't make it for you.
And what you label as evil, even little, may prove not to be evil at all.
lol the line remindes me of well... me hehehe
im little and im evil
hehe funny thing.. practically every one here said that little evil for a greater good is a good thing but still in a movie the main character (a knight .btw) didn't go for the little evil.. he didn't achieve the greater good either, he just wanted his soul to remain pure..
little evil for the greater good makes me think of the white lies that i would tell my dad so my friends and me dont get in trouble ever
I think that meanings of "good" and "evil" depend of perception and blah, blah, blah...
You'll be harmed if you don't do harm, so...
when reading that I think of little things that you do wrong that in the end help like someone mentioned white lies or evil that is followed by something incredible for example my life sucked and I was in great physical and emotional anguish but it all led up to this moment when I met this guy and finally I was happy and complete then after a year we broke up and I became a lesbian now I am in my evil again waiting for the greater good
can good come from evil though. no mater how small the evil is can good come from it. or is the result another kind of evil altogether
I hate threads that have good and evil as a topic because something that is evil to me may not be evil to you!
Well, me too and I agree with you (look at my posts on other good/evil threads)
But this isn't a regular good/evil thread
I'm so confused and I wanted to hear what other people think
It's kinda hard to explain...
sometimes a little evil is necesary to start something good, just like ex-convicts becoming peace lovers or greenpeace activists.... that sounds kinda untrue.... but my point is that you can see light only when there is some darkness present
it reminds me of me.. lol..... it sounds cool also "little evil"
