I've always been interested in Lousiana and it's life style, rich old culture.
The Myrtles Plantation is one of the most haunted houses in america.
I brought this thread up because there is a picture of the plantation at the official site. The one of the house and the statues.
We know of William and Sarah, the man who was shot and died on the 17th steps of this home in Sarah's arms.
We know the dancing lady in black, we know of Chloe, the servant that wears the green turban because of her eavesdropping. We know of the two girls, and of some others.
Back to the point, their is a cocker spaniel in the black and white photograph and I was wondering if anyone knew of anyone saying anything about this dog.
I myself have suspicion of whose dog it is that appears, but I was wondering if anyone else knows who's dog it is???

The Cocker Spaniel is next to the statue on the left by her leg and foot, you can see his furry face.
I cant actually see it, but I have never heard anything about this place before... hwy does it interest you so much?
Why am I interested in this place....
This is a question that many people who have to come to this place feel....Drawn to it. I've got to go there.
This house is active all the time. All the time, anytime.
I'm drawn it to, the articheture, the columns, the grounds, the water that surrounds across the river.
I'm planning a trip this summer. The house is an Inn now owned by John And Teetsa Moss.
Excuse me that's Teeta Moss not Teetsa. John and Teeta Moss.
The house was completed in 1797 and was called "Laura Grove"

So your going to stay there? Tahts a brave move indeed... maybe you could write abotu your experiences there and put it in your journal, as Im sure that for a place which seems to have such a big reputation that it would be a fantastic read.
Im from the UK, so really hadn't heard of this place before, but I shall look itup and see what information I can find.
How did you first find out about this place?
ohh I see the picture got smaller, here let me upload another one but I will circle him
Yeah I was wondering where the dog was... if oyu could point it out on a close up... you haven't quite explained abotu this dog... is it supposed to be there, ro do youthink its something else?
I was going to see if anyone else knew any information about the dog, I know of a person who had lived their with the dog.
I know the dog's name but I wanted to see if anyone had real info about this dog. I know there is one person I could ask but I don't know how to contact her and that is Frances Kermeen. The previous owner before the Moss's who own it now.
Maybe if you spke to the Moss's or tried to find some sort fo forum about it then you could contact them..
Haunted houses give me the creeps, well you just can't suck the blood out of a ghost.
*walks up behind Emmy covered in a sheet* Wooooooooooooh! :-)
Its always interested me, but when I get a vibe I turn into a slight coward.

Omg! I can see it now that you pointed it out.... wow, thats creepy.
Do you really believe it's Sarah's dog and by chance which sarah are you talking about. ohh this is great, you've been there. I know what you mean, exactly.
Yet which Sarah???
Who's Sarah? Oh the plot thickens!
So can anyone say what this... feeling is like?
This feeling.... It comes from within, it's like all of a sudden there's a rush of adrenaline or a craving to be there. Like when someone makes you angry or hurt, the feeling is overwhelming.
There are two Sarah's that had lived once in that house. Two different Sarah's. different times.
The first Sarah Mathilda Bradford was born 1798. Her parents were General David Bradford and Elizabeth.
Sarah marries Clarke Woodruff.
I can answer that question, but I don't believe it was Sarah's dog, and the Sarah you are speaking of that I mentioned earlier. Sarah Mulford Stirling and she married William Drew Winter.
The reason that Sarah and William no longer appears has to do the previous owner Frances Kermeen. Her ten years living there and restoring the house was very.... Lets say she wasn't alone.
Hmmm... I get those vibes a lot and they arne't worth ignoring most fo the time, so I respect your chasing of this feeling. As for the dog, when you stay there you could find out, and see what informaiton you can get from people.
True. I've been planning this trip for half a year now. That is one stop that will change my life I think.
Deity, and yes that is a ghost dog, along with all the other ghost that play a part in that house and that land
Is anyone going with you... surely oyu know others who have the same fascination?
I really would write to those who own it now, and see if you can arrange to meet them, and collect informaiton you can. I would love to see osme photographs that oyu had taken of this place during your stay... when do you go?
The Myrtles Plantation is an INN now, anyone can book a room or two there. They can even have a prom or get married there. There are tours daily, and the rooms are expensive. I belive the most expensive one is $250.00.
My sister is interested in the same things as I but this is a lone trip something I have to do.
I can put the phone and address of the Myrtles Plantation.

I am still looking up info. I would LOVE to go here sometimes. Thank for posting it hun!
thanks for this thread i have a new addiction now.....ive got chills
It is on my to-do list. I am one of those people that investigate into this sort of thing in my own time. Personally, I don't believe in ghosts. I often feel as though it is nothing more than mass hysteria. Think about it: The people who stay at these haunted houses are usually told either by the very staff themselves, through the townsfolk around the area, or even by specials on TLC and Discovery. When you do this, you often prime for the result. But, at the same time, I often wonder if it is just memories made flesh. People often see these apparitions doing things that they used to do when they were still alive. Perhaps the memories of the deceased, or the place, have been brought alive somehow. I'm not sure. That's why it's on my to-do list.
Oh, and I really can't see the picture you talk about. It just shows and X followed by the name of the sight you got it from.
Yes we talked about it the picture not being visible, it was at one point. Yet you can always go to the Myrtles Plantation Website, where I had gotten them, and check out the place.
I believe in ghost fully and to the extend of my own experiences. I've never seen a physical form of a ghost but I know they are there.
Some people do see ghost doing things that they have done in the past, or doing things that are fond memories or even tragedies.
I see what you are saying, though no one really knows what kind of life they live, what if it was a echo of life from the past that's just repeating, I don't know.
I do know I believe because there are some things that just don't come from people's mouths or research in old county record books or newpaper articles.
I'm gonna post those pictures, that are no longer showing on this thread on my JOURNAL. So if anyone wants to look at them.
I know the story never heard about the dog though, would be interesting to find out the link if any to the hauntings
