We all seem to have opinions but how many actually do something about something they believe in, do you protest?, do you write letters?, or send on a chain email ?
Are we willing to stick our neck out for something we believe in and try and change a wrong
I complain out loud about nothing...I protest nothing...I respond to no chain mail, because it RARELY makes any difference in my oppinion...
"its better to be hated for who you are than loved for who you're not."
chain mails dont do a thing, everyone just deletes them anyways. I have been to a few protests.. they didnt do much good either, but atleast I tried.
I suppose too that it depends on what the topic or reason for the protest is .. I've don'e chains and signed petitions and the like ... and what the "wrong" that has been done is .. everyones view of what is considered a "wrong" may vary ...
someones got to do it, where i work the supervisors have meetings sometimes and the management say what changes they have made and if there are going to be payoffs and stuff.
when they come to tell us all thats said, all of them have a long debait bout it and voice their opinions to the supervisor, its stupid cause the supervisor cant do nothing, they are only passing on whats been told, its the management they should voice their opinions to.
me i just dont care cause if it aint bout a payoff then it dont really affect me, i just do the work and thats it.
well It depent on the person in question. but most likely no hero all was get killd
I donate regularlly to causes I believe in. I volunteer my time. I've helped arrange meetings...
I guess it depends how much I back the cause.
Yeah, I got some gumption behind my convictions. I walk the walk. I stand up everyday for what I believe in. If I do not do this, I can't sleep at night. I would rather stick my neck out, and have, than have regrets for not saying or doing what I feel is right. I do not speak for others or try to impose my shit on others, just do my own walk. Took me a while to get to this point in my life, but its a solid place to be (a little un-nerving at times).

Really depends on the scale we are talking... In the closer quarters... Day to day life... I do whatever I want and really care little for other's opinions on the matter... By other's I mean people I care little for if at all... When it comes to larger scale things I have little hope... Picking up garbage... Prostesting against this or that... It may change things but it is unlikely... Money drives everyone and that's all most care for... I have come to accept that the world as we know it is going to have to collapse before any changes that really matter can be made... Our economies structure is faulty... There is no other route... So, for the most part, I do very little when it comes to bigger things but if no one does anything then nothing would have ever got done so it works both ways I guess...
The only things I stand up against is women being hit by their partners/husbands and Vandalism they are the only thing I care very much for
I fight for one cent with the lady from the grocery strore that can give you an idea of how strong convintions can be
myself....I have an extensive section of my resume devoted to my volunteer activities...including, food banks, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, charity events for cancer, inst. for the blind, childrens hospital, stars air ambulance, and we are in the planning stages of a benefit against child porn
ya I think thats about it....
Whenever I suggest to do something everyone laughs at me.Here everyone complaines but do nothing about it.Still some protests and petitions were in vain.
But still I agree that at least it is better to try doing something than just sit and complain, but not everyone has the balls to do it.
I donate blood ( and in oz we don't get paid for it) cause my mother needed a blood transfusion having me , and I donate minor bits to charitys and the like, I've registered for a big bro big sis thing and everyone I know wanted to know why.. I think it does come down to where you feel like your contrubution makes a difference and that being organised helps, I'm also doing a presentation for work trying to get my comp involveded in letting people donate their time on work hours.. but they are all pipeline and takes someone to want, to organise and to follow through
I nearly got chucked out of a restaurant for my protest against the way they cook lobster...
I think you've just got to try everything and do what it takes to stop what you're fighting. If one thing doesn't work, try another but always remember why you started fighting in the first place
i usually stick up for what i think is right if others think it is wrong, but some things i dont because its not worth it. because some people no matter what you say to them will never listen to you, and as long as you know its right then thats enough. unless its something thats has to do with other people.
well if you don't like it then......why not??...if you think it is the right thing to do then i don't understand why you wouldn't....if you let the subject pass without yer 2 cents then .....they are gonna do something you believe wrong!!!...so yes i believe you should stick up for wat you believe in even if everyone is ageanst you!!!! it is worth it al the way!!!
I don't sign petitions or respond/create chain mails. It's not like my opinion will be heard. I will stand up for Gay Marriages or the Environment, and especially Wicca/Paganism.
What difference does it make, if you sing your heart out on a subject, or get arrested in the street for what you believe in. Who is going to listen?
For one who has their mind set in stone.. you, and us alone are not going to alter their opinion or ideas. That is why we have wars in the world. People think they are so damn right about everything and that is why we are individuals and have our own opinions. But as the man said on here, we are not even entitled to them.
Yes I am I believe you only as good as your word and if you take that back you mean nothing
If neede I will stand up for what I believe, whatever the cost. Chain mail just pisses me off though.
