If you had one question for any member who claims to be a representative for the "vampire community", what would it be?
I doubt the vampire community will ever be able to agree on one person to represent them. Its a fickle fad, a shame to see people sqabbling over the traits of a fictional creature. Infighting is the most common thing the Vampire community share with eachother, so my question would be, why? :)
First a few questions which would be something along the lines of a list of things which all tie together.
What works have you been involved with the entire community?
What aspects of the community have you had interactions with, consisting of how many people? which regions have you done your works in? and what was the result.
Can you relate to all the different types of vampiric souls out there? What would you define as a member to the vampire community? and what ideals would you represent on behalf of the individual as well as the whole?
Like any city council representative there should be people up to "president" so to speak which have been elected into place by the people of the community those individuals who best serve the interests of the people, not just the individuals.
I am with Infernal on those questions. I would add, How outward promoting should the Community be? When does Theatrics come into the equation?
my question would be
what are your laws , and punishment for breaking the laws.
What is the indoctrination into the Community, what rites or passages must you accomplish before being let in?
Is it appropriate to request portfolios of fellow community members to account for Titles, or society status?
Why co-op the term vampire? It's loaded with preconceived notions, most of which are negative.
Why does society fear the lifestyle of the vampiric community?
I don't think I'd ask anything because I don't believe I'd get an answer.
If it were me being asked I wouldn't tell.
Why do you parade around, and then get offended when people react
to your proclaimed identity?
Why do you insist that society "embrace your assumed identity"?
Probably ask how much LSD or PCP they've ingested to make them think vampires are real.
It would have to be 'Who died and made you Vampire Union Rep?'
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
i think its rather arragant to assume something cannot exist because its outside of what you understand. while something "probably" does not exist, i wont outright deny the possibility of anything.....
you start reading about string theory and alot of certainty goes right out the window (sorry, im into physics)
~W~
So some would have others believe that vampires are an absolute. That they exist, no evidence.. so my question is,
What convinced you (the person identifying themselves as a vampire)
that vampires are real? How can you expect others to accept vampires existing, without the same observation.
Very very good responses questions, keep them coming.
The reason why I have brought this query into the Vampirerave is a simple explanation...
The New Orleans Vampire Community was interviewed in November, myself included. Unfortunately the interviewers did not ask the right questions according to many of the community members. While most of the questions did pertain to common sense answers such as; When did you know you were vampire, at what age? These questions were simple, yet did not matter to us.
We were seeking a bit more articulate questions that we could respond to on a deeper level.
In the very near future, as in a month or so, New Orleans will again be privy to a couple of established telly shows including National Geographic, History, A&E, etc.
This thread is to be represented as a supportive questionaire for the future interviewers to benefit the whole of society.
This is why I come to the Rave asking for all members assistance in this endeavor. The New Orleans Vampire Community respects all questions regarding the community as a whole as well as individually.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate in asking. Most, if not all questions within this thread will be considered for said interviews.
Once again, thankyou for participating in this endeavor. I will keep the entire Rave up to date on when and where the show(s) will air as time allows.
Why is it so important for people to accept those who claim to be vampires?
Keeping an "open mind" is only "useful" if someone summarizes their claim.. which tends to be impossible, seeings how all questions are scrutinized by those who profess to be vampires.
Common refrain.."Oh that is deeper then I can go into."
No if it is so blantently obvious that their are vampires, and that a minority are in the "know" then if they are coming out, come out already
until then I find it rather mundane all these people claiming to be vampires.. then attempting to accredit their claims with "mysterious shrouds" Blah Boring .. Awwwwwwwwww
i would ask if they are part of an alien race or maybe if they are descendants of atlantians.
I would’ve probably ask the same as the comment above me, including the annunaki in the named ideas, If they say that most of the vampire lore and stories about their abilities and thirst for blood is true on their anatomy then I would’ve also ask; in what methods do your community or race feast on presently? perhaps a blood bank of human or animal clones, sound stupid but… you never really know, even if it sounds unethical could be possible, I don’t think that if there's a lot of members in the vampire race out there they wouldn’t be enough animals in the wilderness to subtend a whole colony drinking every week, nor the possibilities of a donor, or yet again attacking humans like ancient stories, cause there isn’t a super list of missing people every week to believe they still do so, so yeah i think it would be interesting, If it isn’t a case sensitive question and prohibited to answer, I would guess that in the case of the alien or whatever question tends to be true they wouldn’t tell us…
MBK I believe you are being obtuse because the core diffinition of a vampire is the sucking of one blood from another. -And both being human-
So I really think that they would not need a hallucinational drug to believe in vampires since the core part does prove they exist.
According to most on this site from what I have observed that is.
Since I have not met any real vampire exciept H.L.V.
(human living vampires)or life styler and I met a real one of a unique and rare vampire community I would not ask of any thing. But rather fall to my knees and say omg you actually exist? I am walking in the presences of a demon and would so love to shake your hand and then ask why come forward now????
Whats the objective in mobilizing to convince people that vampires exist, why not adapt another less specific custom nomeclature?
I’ve been saying that for quite some time and in quite some threads, all i get is, people feel they are that and that’s it, for the most of the replies, (did not said everyone), maybe fear of what they are make them masquerade the true identity with another level of it, Because seriously if someone comes here saying he is a "vampire" we would be all rapidly exhorting for proof. I don’t know could it be people trying to meet other people when they say they are “vampires” in their profiles.
It is socializing by fringe popularity, simply put.
A pretense for appearing esoteric.
Of course proof is not a good word, evidence, or supporting documentation is a more accurate term.
If I could ask one question it would ask:
How does freedom of mind and freedom of emotion empact the draw of the energy that ties each life on this plan of existance?
I see many people here questioning the existance of "vampires" (as in, the kind from the movies), which is a healthy responce. But to say people could not possibly exist who have energy deficiencies is mere ignorence, but not the kind to be ashamed of. All it takes is some simple looking around to find the answers you are looking for, either that or you find out from living it, which is what I am experiencing. There ARE people out there who crave blood, and need to feed off of the energy of others. Such people either refer to themselves as Sanguarians, Psy-vamps, or Hybrids. Someone who is "sang" needs to consume blood, while someone who is "psy" has psychic abilities, which they use to feed off of the aura of others. Someone who is "hybrid" is a combination. Blood is a very potent source of energy, and for some consumption is a real life need. I hope this clears up any confusion.
One thing being though, is that there is not much of a vampire "community", most people with these traits prefer to keep their way of life a secret, and don't want to be part of a "vamp" community. Very few will ever admit it to anyone, mostly out of fear, which is certainly understandable. Personally, I don't have a reason to be that afraid, so I tend to be a little more open about it.
Then they have a physical imbale de, ormentsl imbalence, or seek to impress others by vaguely IDE tidying as a vampire, adapting an established myth, to bolster some profession is retarded, the movie, vampires and eu h are what a vampire was fuctionalized as. What it is. Fibeomialgia.. Reinforld syndrome suffer.. Take your pick.. Be proacti e and get a creative title.. Scared cats.. afeared' that no one will be "impressed" by anyother name not pkagerized from myth..
Well, you are right about one thing, it is a physical need.
However, to openly say you are, lets say, a blood drinker, means that you are confident, proud of who you are, so you would not end up denying it to yourself or anyone else. I'm sure people are out there who are starving for attention rather than blood, however these tend to be "gothic teenagers" (no offense towards goth teens), so it matters little.
A Social Pathology, propagated by a repressed imagination, people feel that just talking about fantasy in a creative manner is some how undignified, and childish. But to profess onessrlf a vampire! Then to be self convinced that people don't take you as seriously as more impressional people, somehow fear you for what you believe yourself.. ??? !!
Of course, sorry, you are all knowing. Excuse me for ever doubting you.
I was following your reason m, well presented, I meant to state that in my post. Is it your intent to separate those who profess to be vampires, from those who image they are vampires?
Yes, it is important to be able to seperate the two. And the difference tends to be obvious.
Let me get this straight, your saying those who profess (as in, state they are vampires, and mean it) and those who fake it are very different from each other, but you need me to prove it? Listen man, it makes no difference to me if you want to believe or not. In fact, I will no longer bother coming to this thread. I know who and what I am, and someone who is attacking my identity rarely ever gets my attention. So if that is what you were looking for, you were barking up the wrong tree because I don't have to put up with that crap. I'm outta here.
Declaring that you are being attacked for your identity dies not make a case, what regarding my post was an attack? So questions about your assumed identity are verboten'?
Maybe what he refered as the obvious that differs the one that fakes it and the other one is; that one consumes the blood and the other one just acts as one?
~Lunavoron~ your retaliation within this thread is uncalled for to say the least. This is not a thread of vindictiveness, or attack...It is a thread of questions to interview those who "THINK" they are vampires. Nothing more, nothing less. The questions within this thread may be used within future interviews.
You seem to condemn yourself by answering a few of the questions and not wording yourself correctly, therefore the individuals within this thread have retaliated against you for that simple fact. Next time you do respond to this or a similar thread, please maintain a mature attitude and less agression. No one is after you, nor attacking you.
Again, please keep this thread respectable and on topic. I would very much like it to remain open for a while longer, since there are some rather good questions within it.
Why is the empisis on inquiry, rather then presentable, prepared documentation? It leads one to speculate that those who profess to be vampires are making it up as they go, using questions to foundation crafted replies.
Or openly scrutinizing, and or ignoring content of concise inquiry. The answer.. " well that is a blah blah question.. " is rather cliché.
I would have 2 questions to ask:
1: are you a real vampire or just living the life as one?
2: can you prove it?( and I don't mean just because you say so)
Proving it by belonging to a vampiric club is not proving the community does exist. fashion and raves are a broad part of society. why would a vampiric community list one person as an agent for them. many of our faternal orginazations in the world have many prone people on all levels to do this why one.
Now jumping to the other side of this post, why would they want the culture know they exist. possible reasons would be, the state of fear people have for them, trying to fit in a sub-culture aspect. giving them levity on assuming what they do is within their rights and are being discrimnated against.
Your last paragraph is presimtuously arrogant. That people could not care less totally evades those who pretend they are more then pretending to be vampires. To openly disclose any details would assign them in the perceptions of those who are likewise pretending , not to be pretending they are vampires, because they usurp existing definitions to suit you. How very egotistical to even imply that any body who does not subscribe to your assumed identity, and claims of communities, do you perhaps fear that people rill eventually just be burnt out on the whole vsnpure fad.
Then to state as fact that this is a site for those who identify as vampires, scoffing any one who starts a post with, "I imagine..". Such contridiction, one wants to be accepted, but not accountable to any formality.
Arrogant or contreversal, I see that a spokesman who claims attachments to a high regard as in a vampire community has or is looking to gain something from it.
Seeing the outlines of all cults or movements is not being arrogant in the stand of why a person would claim such an action.
My arrogance is not in the vampire community but the person and their delusional beliefs of the society and their part within it.
I follow you to a point Cadre, but a little clarity would help on the last half.
I was just saying, this person if in fact was, and I say that loosly in the community what would be some of the reasons he was promoting his staure to say.
So in order for me to understand why I wrote them down to see if any one else may think that would be the reason. yet my delusional mind see's the fictional stance of a gentleman trying to get something in life or his understanding to fit into a society to look big.
Or to compinsate for undeveloped, or lack social skills.
"a subculture is a group of people with a culture (whether distinct or hidden) which differentiates them from the larger culture to which they belong” (Wikipedia). The “vampire” subculture is found in many different countries. Considering this thread is geared toward generating questions, mine would be:
How does the New Orleans subculture differentiate from others around the world?
What are the basic definitions and standards one holds herself/himself as a member?
How are these definitions and standards influence from an American perception?
Nor etiquette, by those who believe to be superior, or is it just a case of "grandois illusions"? We each possess different measure of communication.
WOAHHHH mules! Can we please just ask our questions as SS has requested? I mean ,we debate this all the time, just start another thread.
My question.. Do Vampires believe they are different than the mundane mentally? As in superior intellect?
Do Vampires feel they are superior in their spiritual awareness and phsycic abilities?Or more predatory than humans?
Yes lets stay on the topic here, and debate that not others.
Do Vampires feel they are superior in their spiritual awareness and phsycic abilities?Or more predatory than humans?~Oceanne
Todays belief I shall so is there should not be some superiorty to anything in life, for all of us belong to Mother earth. Many mortals do claim that abilities are prevalant and they claim not to be vampiric. But the only thing superior to us is death itself.
Hollywood has given us this predator mode for vampires, yet as we see in the cultures of today this is not prevelant in any way for those who claim to be vampiric.
But like anything the right to belong to society comes in play. no matter the religion, cult or community we see the ever ending struggle happening. This would be the only reasoning behind it.
