i was wondering the views of my fellow VR fans if you think that vampires have the ability to cure them selves of bullet wounds ,broken legs and even resist aides

or do we believe that vampires can suffer the mortal things that eflict us .?

please pick which you believe to be possable and explain why they can heal or suffer

I guess it depends on what you would consider healing becasue I believe that yes a Vampire can be hurt but it would have to be something very powerful for them to feel it

I think that vampires can get wounds, but that they heal faster than human beings and that the wounds don't kill them.

I can tell you that in my experiance, I have not been shot, nor stabbed...So these things are irrelevant to me for the time being.

As far as small cuts, scrapes and bruises...I do heal much faster than the average individual. I do get the flue on occasion, but it passes within days, or hours for that matter. Nothing major. As far as time goes for cuts and other small things, these usually go away within the same few days as the illness's do, whenever they actually occur, which is very rarely.

I want to believe that fictional vampires are essentially invulnerable to breaks, cuts and disease.

There are people who seem to heal fast and resist most virus.

Those people can still get HIV and STD's.

From the fictional tales of Vampirc idenities, they seemed to be able to rejuvenate after such injuries, yet this would be assuming they feed to give them the energy within their body.

Yet this is not fictional, and many are mortally wounded by such events in the real life. yet some say the mind can slow or even rare cases heal such diseases.

but the scars i think would still be evedent, much like the story of dorain gray, who never aged yet his portait did, and what injuries he aquired, went to the magical painting. untill he gazed apon the picture did everything revert back ot him.

Everybody gets sick sometimes, vampire or mortal. No-one spontaneously heals. Sometimes some people heal faster due to a faster metabolism and a stronger immune system. -Chela

Bullet wounds, ive seen that, I was at a club in LA and saw this guy get shot in a drive by. Got up, and said, "SON OF A FUCKING BITCH! This was my favorite leather coat!" He was in his 90's according to his ID but didnt look a DAY over 30, and his shirt and coat did have blood and holes in them, so Im pretty sure thats something they can over come (not that I wanna shoot at somebody to find out!)

As far as aids, Papa Nick (out in LA again) suffers from it, he got it from a dirty feed, I dont know if it will kill him, everytime we think hes on his way out, he kicks it and his cell count stabilizes, but he cant seem to kick it. Its been the cause of a area ban on human feeding until there is a cure, which we hope isnt far off.

On the reverse side, my friend K seems to have some form of antigen in her blood that fights off the virus in its entirety, she just cant get it, or so the CDC said when they tested her 10 years ago. So, I suppose its all in the blood so to speak.

i had heard that people that suffer from siculecell eniama are resistant to aides due to the shape of the blood cell it self i found that fact to be fasinating now i dont know much about siculecell except that it mostly is a disease in a darker ethnic person ...but if this disease does not make one to sick with gene splicen and stuff you would think that they the cdc would be well on thier way to a cure by reshapen our blood cells so the evil aides dont grab hold and feeding would be safe again

vamps in my opinion can heal like other immortal creatures.
as far as psi vamps go, they heal with energy they get from others. just like sangs need blood from others

dragons heal in all diffrent ways they usually self heal
relying on large self stored *batteries*

dragonliches???

Fictional rejuvenation is probably true on the sense of the fictional vampire, But we as mortals do not reheal the way the books and movies potray.

so if someone drives a stake through your heart you will be dead and never to come back sorry.

Mythological vampires can do almost anything, but if you are talking about mortal vampires/vampyres then it really depends on the persons body and how it reacts to things. I do know if I got shot, it would hurt.. I would bleed and if they shot me at just the right angle, I would die. Now after operations I have had done I have healed up pretty quick more for the fact that I try to stay healthy and take what I need to help my body.

Wow, funny thing you should ask, yeah, I have been hurt, but no it did not hurt me that much. Like, I cut myself at work one day and its gone. I am a very fast healer and I have always wondered why. My docs say that I should be a slow healer, but I am a super fast one, I think.

Fictional vampires of course can heal themselves, they're fictional characters. As for everyone else, it just depends on immune system,( colds, flu, etc). Cuts, scrapes and so on the healing process depends on how you tend them. Cleanliness of wound, antibiotics and so forth. Broken bones just take time and patience. Treat your body right and it will, in most peoples case, return the favor and heal at a normal pace. Slow healing is usually the result of improper care of said ailment or the person suffers from something, (ex: diabetes ), that slows things down a bit.

It is well established that fictional Vamps spontaneously. But it seems to me that every self professed Vampire I have ever met was actually rather sickly.I heal fast too as do many others. The has to do with several factors..one being genetics and the others pretaining to how well one takes care of themselves. The variables in humans as far as healing vary quite a bit..Some fast, others dont heal at all.

Fictional vampires according to hollywood rejuvenate fast, and like werewolfs have no reculection of the injury.

But like oceanne stated, us as mortals it depends on the life style in which we partake in evry day life in our healing and infection process. But alot of infections seem to be coming from our culture with pollution. so a myth that we cannot rejuvenate.

i am NOT a vampire, in my mid 30s... but do seem to heal many injuries with abnormal quickness. i do martial arts and coach high school wrestling and last winter had my knee thwacked really bad. docs said i needed months off the mat, a mri and possibly surgery... but i healed 100% in a few weeks. call it resilience...

i don't think "real" (i.e. physically immortal) vamps exist but the ones we all read/watch and love so well, of course seem to heal quickly or not be strong affected by conventional human injury/illness.

so many of the people i see who profess to "be" vampires appear sickly, unfit, weak... maybe that's why they need to "be" vampires... to gain some sense of physical strength , a step closer to imagined immortality.

what had actually given me the idea for this thread was a old twilight zone or outter limits eppisode where a vampire hires a doctor to make house calls cause his wife broke her leg and they used to enjoy dancen the doctor was amazed at the quickness of healing but still wanted to do surgery and of course the male vamp did not want the she vamp to have any scarring on her beautyful leg...iam thinking to my self she is healing nicely but they still wanted the doc to take care of her.

as a person who was briefly in the medical field i seen many cases of fast healing and then again people who just dont heal at all.

my wheels in my head are always turning wondering the ins and outs of all subjects and iam enjoying what answers are popping up so far :)= i dont concidder my self a vamp thoe i suffer many of the hollywood type effects like being allergic/sencative to the sun and light, allergic to onion and garlic now after beating 4 types of cancer and lung disease and a heart attack , dying on the opperating table and still being here LOL i seriously joke that iam a vamp and i can not die but ooo the suffering a little rough to handle at times but i do feel immortal

This all installs what version of vampirism. the immortal. The common mordern age vampire?

because unless your a immortal live for ever already dead vampire. then a bullet would kill you,As for disease I dont think anyone or thing is immune to man made diseases such as aids.

However any natural disease I feel they would have a stronger immune system making it even harder to obtain say something like a cold or a fever.
