Would this cause problems to a vampires metabolism?

If so might it not be used as a detterent?

I think the amount of drug that would need to be ingested would probably be fatal to the host and thus not useful as a deterrent. I don’t really see how it could cause a problem otherwise since the most commonly used drug for this purpose is an aspirin.

Alot of heart patients use this drug, and all it is used for is easily flowing the blood through constricted arteries. So in that tense i think it would aid the vampire in getting more energy within themselves.

Might it not cause harm to the vampires ability to heal? They're anti coagulants / anti platlet drugs and if you cut yourself you bleed rather freely and bruise easikly too..
Vaso-dilators would aid the feeding process as they relax the artery walls

Depending on the use of the blood if it is energy from it , it might not adhere to the vampire system, yet like drugs of other nature after awhile the drug will be non existant. so depending on the time of needed feedings it may be replaced daily with no ill affects.

I am sure the vampires blood has natural anti coagulants within it...For the sake of the blood drinking digestion of course.

Much like the numbing agent used in the movie: Blade 2. Save for blood born and not saliva born.

we could only guess at the biochemistry of the vampire of fiction, so until one is captured and studied, we are forced to just make our best guess. i would suspect that they would barely notice such a thing unless it were concentrated and administered directly to them.

true lord wolf,

Yet on a fictional note we know vampires take blood for the energy that their body needs, and I guess expells the rest. So the idea of chemicals effecting vampires i would say no to this. So many humans lately are so full of medication and herbs, vitamins that the blood in that terms would be tainted. so I think it would not effect a Fictional vampire the least.

i use to take cumadin which is a blood thinner i think a vampire would not like the taste of this blood and it would not have much nourishment in it kinda like eating junk food

I would imagine it would make the process of feeding easier. However, it might taint the taste of the blood. But then again I imagine blood tastes different from person-to-person anyway. The blood of a young person is different than that of an older person. The blood of an AB negative person is different than that of an O negative person. Some people have more iron in their blood. I bet biting someone from India who consumes a lot of curry would taste different then someone who eats very little spicy food.

yes to curry, no to blood types. blood varies a tiny bit from person to person, but ive not noticed blood type to affect it. curry on the other hand, really can affect the taste of blood.

Yes, the same goes with meat as well, making the blood taste thicker...Or Vegetables/fruits vs candy, as vegetables/fruits make the blood taste sweet and candy, sour.

On the topic of blood waste from the fictional vampires digestion, how the bloody hell does a undead creature digest something when its body is well...Dead? Good grief.

Have to agree on the diet aspect though, anything we take into our bodies will have an effect.

So now it is a thing to ward off vampires. LOL.

We all take some kind of medication in life, Vitamins, asprin, High cholestral medicine. to put our bodies back in track. vampires are after the energy within the blood and not the substance it self. So the conclusion would or should be that vampires adapt to th surroundings of food.

Our bodies are so tainted with chemicals from everyday life. vampires would have to look hard to find no one effected with such harmful stufff to hurt them.

And going from hollywoods vast showing, the vampires do not ask for their doctors report before killing them!
