"What is the beast? The beast is a symbol for a power at war with God's people at the end of time. The Bible explains its own symbols, here is an example: "the fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon the earth." Daniel 7:23 Beasts in Bible prophecy represent nations or kingdoms.

Below is list of prophecies that will help the searcher for truth discern the identity of the power/kingdom that is symbolized by the beast and identified by the number 666.


666 Prophecy #1
"And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. " Revelation 13:3

The power who wars against God's people at the end of time at some point would look like it was going to cease to exist, but miraculously, it would come back into world wide power and popularity.

According to the scriptures people will be very interested in and pay attention to the things this power says and does. It will have a mysterious hold upon the minds of almost the whole world.

However, some people will not be decieved by the "beast", so it will resort to force in order to get people to follow it and worship as it dictates. The apostle Paul called it the "Mystery of Iniquity" John the Revelator called it "Mystery, Babylon the Great."


666 Prophecy #2
"And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who [is] like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? "

Here is another major clue. Worship is clearly involved in the Devil's last day deception. This beast which has a mark of its authority, and is identified by the number 666, is a nation/power that recieves worship. The dragon mentioned above is a symbol for the Devil, you can find that in Revelation 12:9.


666 Prophecy #3
"And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations."

This nation/power will try to use force to get people to obey its religious rules. It is important to remember that Jesus never used force to compel people to worship Him. This nation/power will hurt and kill God's people in order to accomplish it results.


666 Prophecy #4
"And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty [and] two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. Revelation 13:5-6"

The antichrist who has the number 666 will speak things that the Bible calls blasphemy against God. The antichrist will be religious in nature, see prophecies 1 and 2 above, yet it's "words" will be offensive to heaven.


666 Prophecy #5
"...and power was given unto him to continue forty [and] two months. Rev 13:5"

The antichrist will have a definite time frame of rulership, 42 months or 1260 days. See also Revelation 12:6 and 12:14 for the same time period. God's true church will be in hiding during this reign of the Dragon's antichrist.

NOTE: These time periods represent 1260 Literal years that antichrist reigned. Here is a quick explanation. Jesus, the true Christ of God, had a ministry on this earth for 3 and 1/2 years but the majority of the world, and even His own people rejected Him. So God said, if you don't want the true Christ, my Son to reign over you, then you can have the Antichrist, the "Son of Perdition", for 1260 years and experience what his rulership would be like. See Numbers 14:34 for another example of this "Year for a Day" Bible principle.

"And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness. After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise." Numbers 14:33-34

666 Prophecy #6
"If any man have an ear, let him hear. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. Rev 13:9-10"

At the end of the 42 month prophetic time frame (1260 years), mentioned in #5 above, the antichrist will go into captivity and appear to be finished, but according to #1 above it's deadly wound will be healed. All the world will again "wonder after" it.

666 Prophecy #7
"And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea... Rev 13:1"

The antichrist beast, which is a nation (see Daniel 7:23 explanation above) would arise in a place where there are many different nations and languages. This is made more plain by reading about the great whore who rides the beast and "sitteth upon many waters" in Revelation chapter 17.

Again, the Bible interprets itself so we don't need to speculate at all: "The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues." Revelation 17:15"

In my understanding and please don’t take this as an attack on religion…

666 is in the second part of the bible as it was wrote by a powerful group who were known in roman as “the church” it refers to the emperor Nero and is linked to the power struggle of the “the church” and the old roman ways … thus as believed by some the cause of the burning of Nero’s city as part of the revelation of end times in that movements ideals.

The number 666 has nothing to do with religion, all those martyrs of their chosen religion should actually study what the number specifies instead of falling prey to controversy and conspiracy brought by individuals who seek to manipulate both the bible as well as religion to their advantage as a fear tactic...

666 simple and to the point was the name of NERO: Nero and 666

Since the bible depicts Nero as being in the "Old Testiment" then the times that were to come had already past. Even if Revelations does seem to convince the individual that these times have yet to come, it still reveals that things came and went.

History always repeats itself, this is only natural...Thus anything that happens or has happened will again take place in another form and differant individuals but about the same topic. Said events always occur this way...

666...is a number that relate most in history then to a present time. The Order of the rosicrusians, use a system of 36 deputies; then, they are divided into six parties of six members each: their mission was to carry their message and their practices to all of the major capitals of the world. 6 6 6. I don't think that 666 is not related to the beast or the "anti-christ'.

If you ask me i have read a lot and i have not seen much other than made up stuff on it....
Its all a scare tac.
It does very much have to do with end of time.
But for the most people that talk about it just repeat what others have said and most is untrue.
I do believe that it is the number of the beast tho look at all the facts the historical ones of Greek Spain and Roman all say it is the mark of the Beast.

As already opined correctly by soulshroude, the "number of the beast" refers to Nero or, perhaps, Caligula... or even as a reference to Roman emperors in general and, by extension therefore, The Roman Empire as a whole.

Every generation has used this number and used this book but it related to the times of Roman occupation and numbers and references were coded for the protection of those communicating information.

Society follows whatever they are given to hear or see without even taking a step back and looking for answer themselves for such claims, they say the digits "666" falls under the devil's denomination, and I ask this: have you seen the devil with the number 666 tattood in his ass? have you seen the devil come when you say 666? Do you even know how a demon looks like? The number of Lu-ci-fer will always be 777 which was passed down to his son Damien. 999 was given to society in a tact of manipulation when the year 1999 was coming close as a form of fear for the idea of a chaotic wartime year. As well, the imperfect true mark of said "beast" is the almighty "Peace Symbol" as denoted by a circle surrounded by an upside down broken cross. If you study symbolism, then you will realize that the "hippies" of the 60's adopted this symbol as a representation for peace throughout a war torn vietnam. Ironic that the same symbol was transformed figuratively from a powerful "evil" symbol.
