Good question my lifestyle pertains to being a Lycanic Jester here but I find more and more I tend towards a somewhat solitary lifestyle having my "Den" a certain way and interacting with my Lycan kin as I can
will post more when I define it better
thanks for asking

I find that the "were" style is just another excuse for someone to become something that they are not. A formal response has been put into the thread entitled "werewolf rave."

Were"whatevers" do not exist, why would someone want to be some "monstrocity?" To me, this is utterly rediculous...Powertrip anyone?

Well alike "vampires" they feel they have the "inner animal" inside and that they live with the things that characterize the wolf or cat. If its by that then i must be a weresloth...

I agree with the post above aout vampires having a inner animal and werewolves have a outer animal.. Vampires also can control their urges and werewolves have an animal way about them and they cant control the urges they have.

What are their urges?

If vampires must have the occasional bit of blood, or rake off psychic energy from others, how do Werewolf lifestylers deal?

I think if we pondering the animals in todays society. wolves and tigers and lions we see the animal instinct that many werewolves would have. Whether it is to feed or the the taste of blood sending them into a frenzy.

Logic would dictate that if someone changed into the animal the animal side would be prevalant with all the characteristics of said such beast. cunning hunter, heightened senses, a taste for blood and food and territoral and dovted to the pack or family..

Hollywood changed alot of the aspect of werewolves to fit the needs of the silver screen.

Most know that Were anything means shapeshifter. Doesn't neccessarily have to pertain to the wolf or cat. Can be many other forms as well spiritually speaking. It is the animal that lies dormant in most of us and to which some have learned to embrace in their spiritual growth. Even in Egyptian cultures, some "goddesses" such as Nephthys and Seshat both turned into Kites in search of a loved one.

Only you Dabbler.

Werewolves depiction shown in hollywood is an animal still holding on to the humans emotions, yet we would assume that the change would also take over the emotional structure of the human.

Lore varies regarding were' what Evers .. Because it is fiction, there is no history of were creatures.. Only works if fiction.. So if a person is impulsive,or irrationally aggressive .. How convient to profess "I am embodied by a beast, or what ever adaptation of fiction one wishes to apply, all relating to such things can go back to fiction.

Many of the lores are from gentic flaws in the human causing hair all over, thus the version of werewolf is created. Hollywood gave the horror the myths.

There it is, and now adays there is a game based on werewolves, people who
are delusionally thinking they are werecreatures are not growing hair all over, they actually believe they are werecreatures, why do you keep presenting the Hollywood cliché? This is all superstition, advancement in medical research have found as you say generic conditions, they have not found a case of a werecreature..

Ps please don't say .. "Just because they havnt found.." that is a Fallacy of Logic.

Those who profess to be privey to some info that " supports" their claim to be werecreature ( or an ammended version of same) will likely never respond to a request to present their reasoning. Why?

Does a plagerist always copy a source verbatim? No.

They blend excerpts from personal anacdotes, and other sources.

Same with those who say they are werecreature.

What motive would a person have for claiming to be a werecreature?

Sorvena, thank you for offering a bit of mythological "reason," in this thread.

Dabbler and cadrewolf your arguing deflates the purpose of this thread. We hear from people who claim to be vampiric. In this instance, only one person has claimed an identification which he needed to ponder further.

In another thread, people mentioned the werewolf lifestyle. I just wanna know what it consists of.

I've howled at the moon, if that helps, and would like to do it more often, but I'm intimidated by my neighbors. A howling venue is needed.

Blood mother understandable, I alluded regularly to the insight of animal taken over and would be promant in the change. And looking at it hpothetical would the structure of life be the same as those claiming to vampiric her on vr. without the shape shifting tho.

Such things are ritual. Exercises in creativly interacting with the nature around them. Such things are reasonable in context. However that is never enough for some, those that want to impress upon others that they are mystical, or other then human. When is the line crossed?

There is 'something' to it, and there is even a clinical lycanthropy as people claim clinical vampirism. This is known as a psychiatric syndrome of delusion, however. Keep in mind, clinical vampirism is also called in the medical field a mental disorder that even still is not listed as a true diagnosis in the medical field overall. Now- I'm just stating actual medical stuff here so don't think my purpose here is to put people down. You can find this online too:

http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-renfields-syndrome.htm

http://www.wisegeek.com/contest/what-is-lycanthropy.htm

You can also do some searching through prestigious, well-known certified medical websites for the same. I'm not going to do it right now, but I probably will later because I am sure people will scoff at these particular links. Again, this is just a quick couple sites to list for now, and I could dive into it more. I have no doubt they will offend people of the vampire and lycanthrope communities because I have seen it before. Each side has their own perspective and each side wants to be respected and validated.

Other than that has an insanely long history in folklore just as vampirism.

Comparable to some cultures ritual admiration of wolves ( usually accepted as metaphor) is the high school dance theme.. Most don't leave a themed dance believing they are .. what e we the theme was..

Thanks imagesinwords I knew there were actual cases determined by the medical field, yet when I said information on werewolves I was relating to lores of the animal in history.

The only prominant one is Bray road incident an other not so factal reports of wolves attacking people. So reports in history do seem vague.

But actual reports are still being made of humans that do report seeing these werewolves.

Those who do fall prey to suggestive thought, are the laughable individuals. Just as with those who think they are vampire tend to suite the fangs and choose the fashion statement thereof. I think those who deem themselves "therian" or whathaveyou, could be even more laughable by instigating that they actually carry the mark of the "therian." just as the folkloric gypsy days new about.

Now that I have mentioned a "mark", I wonder who will fall to that suggestion and actually claim that they have had said "mark" since birth? Only time will tell.

just a thought of mine, but ive mentioned it before. someone will post a topic here "what are the ritual habits of....."

a couple of the members here feel they must jump in an let everyone know that ..... cant have any ritual habits because they dont exist.

guess its not possible to just ignore the threads you dont agree with?

a friend of mine once showed me a cartoon. a woman was dressed for bed, and a man in pajamas was furiously typing on his keyboard. the caption was "i cant go to bed yet mildred, someone on the internet is WRONG!"

thank you to those few out there who are always so willing to let everyone else know how wrong they are. this place just wouldnt be any fun without you.

if you hurry, i think there may be a 6 year old somewhere that you can inform how santa is just a device for toy stores to make money.

sorry folks...its just getting old

The very same people you address, are equally scornful of what is denounced as "Hollywoods lame attempt to portray [ insert mythos] so if you are reasoning LW that it is nothing but ritual practice that somehow
Qualifys as being a were creature, or crypto homidoid then you lose me. It is just a ritual practice. Some are just in it for creativity, and being insulted by someone who is irrationally serious about a fictional thing becomes ridiculous.

Even religions have things they shun within their beliefs.

Well-said LordWolf. I don't mind if the mythbusters eventually chime in, but I wish they'd sit back for a while and let those of us who like to discuss esoterica like werewolf and vampire preferences go at it. I don't have to believe anything to be here.

There was once a 'pack' here on Vampire Rave. They're not so active anymore... they could give us some insight on how they 'roll' and why they identify the way they do.

You all are right though... a thread is better answered by those who can or are at least willing answer the question, and not take it off in another direction.

Not nesesarily, when you speak of lifestyle and more is its about "vampire" or "werespecies" one can question the topic at hand, If I am not a lifestyler of such creature, I don't have an answer of experience for the question; now one can ask and question others claims/subject if its unclear for other member, now if noone respond then the question answer for itself, noone have anything concrete to state about the question, because the case may be that noone is really a "werewolf lifestyler" or doesn't even know for itself what consititute in their "nature" to be such claims, unless is rolepaying of course.
