I want to know without getting POLITICAL who and why did the first people or person tattoo their body or use piercings?
I want to know why any whozits got violent with the youwhos? I personally think that violence is senseless especially if we those thems if we just asked might have traded or bartared goods?
And last who what when where... made this world so topzey turvey?
(I only used whozits and youwhos as a metaphor for any one peoples at each others throats ... I beg you keep any political junk off this thread)
This is a very good multiple answer thread.
The whosits last I heard controlled the whatsits...Which is why those them, usually fight and bicker over the whosits goods and trades. This happens often in black market cities.
As for who started the tattoo and piercings, we can ask trible leaders and elders about this spiritual awakening concept. Most chieftans are intitiated by tattoos and piercings. Samoans specifically thrive from the manhood test with tattoos.
thank you for your input
thoe why do the whozits and whatsits need leaders, chiefs or presadents, or even a king ??
i realize this is gonna get hairy but i can see peoples not happy with what they get in return for their own labors ... sure theys and those are gonna get mad but for pitty sake to strike out in anger so violent that the gods and goddesses cant keep track of the body counts.
i know many tribes and culture use the tats and piericeings as rituals and such normally a comming of age thing . i really would like to find out who how ever actually decided to mark thier body first and why?
I don't think you'll ever find the answer to piercings and tattoo.
They both stretch back to the dawn of time, and the best sceintist are still aguring over the oldest culture, China, Asia or Egypt.
I think that piercings and tattoos were/are in some cases tribal rituals for manhood, and expressing things that happens in the course of life.
Tattoos in one application was to show the Rites of Passage the person accomplished, scars served prior to tat tech. Another application was identification.
Tattoos have been used to guard sacred, or secret text as well.
Yes Dabbler, and association with clan or tribe. I've read also that the ancient peoples in the Aleution island chain had many tribes that tattood themselves. Women also had tattoos for beauty. Can't forget vanity now can we?
i believe tribe id was one certian mark for diff tribes.
I believe the first tribes to ink themselves used thorns,
shark teeth and thors to pierce the skin of the ink. They
do this for a mark of manhood, and what tribe they are from.the females do this to attract males..for the more
tattoos they have the more tolerant to pain they are..
wich they are more desireable.
Piercings..is like the same way.
the bigger the hole in the ears and lips..the more
they have..and higher status.
I am not sure we will ever know the true origins of tattoos. It was for some time believed that the Pacific Islanders first started tattoos but the 5,000+ year old body found several years ago in the Alps pre-dates the known time fram for the Pacific Islander's tattooing and the body did have several tattoos.
As to why peoples fight other peoples. I think that as soon as exended families got large enough and started living collectivly in organized group it was necessary to occasionaly use violence against other family groups in order to assure the survival of your family group. As family groups grew into larger communities, Cities, City-States, Sates and countries this need to protect what is "ours" from "Them" carried on. Violence has been a ready answer for so long that it is almost second nature to resort to it in times of stress. Hopefully as we as a species evolve we will eventually loose this trait and rely on non destructive means to work together for mutual benefit.
It's the ways of mankind to mark life and death. Who? That is hard to say.
