There was an episode on Monster Quest last night talking about flying humanoids and a strange dog that's been attacking other peoples dogs in Maine and Minnesota. Does anyone think that this things are just a figment of imagination or are these things real?
Well it wasn't the Moth Man. The videos showed a "figure" that looked human without any wings or anything closely resembling wings. In the videos "they" would just hover around.
I believe it is a figment but then again who knows theer are so many reports of weird creatures so who really knows for sure
Yeah i don't think that every time thigs like this come up are just a figment of imagination or a case a mistaken identity, some of it has to be true. An example is the kind of weird fish that we find in the ocean. Also the giant squid, but people just blew the size of them out of porpotion.
yes i saw that episode and was wondering the same thing myself. I suppose anything is can be out there we just have not "discovered" it yet
Fantastical excuses for people to show blurry unfocused vacation videos.
I take it that you're a skeptic about everthing dabbler?
Actually I was just about to say the same thing...why is it that the focus is always pants?
Does anyone know where I can see this video?
So yes I stated it is imagination.. it works on people who are jaded by make pretend, they want the next degree .. Make pretend .. to make believe .. To
irrational fear..
You can go to www.historychannel.com/monsterquest to see more.
Many of these are just the myths of the world they try to show us how and why they still are around.

Admin I just want to post a lol, at dabs comment...sorry 3 comments deleat when you want lol!
If we could get some footage of The Bane, I bet we could pass it off as actual footage of a Demon!
Lol, I actually look like my aviator...so my wife said!
Your right I have a blurred video of me pretending to be a monster while on an investigation in Wales and it looks real..... ^^
Tormented, please don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good Monster Story, but the Tabloids have ran very far out on a limb with most stories.
I also happen to enjoy when in Scooby Doo they unmask the Monsters, and reveal the motives for scaring people.
The whole Cryptozoology gang is perhaps more monster then what they " hunt". Look at for example the last Big Foot Situation, lawsuits are being filed over a Frozen Monkey Suit, a Cryptozooologist is red in the face..
Yeah I'll admit there has been alot of bullshit stories and eyewitnesses that have been documented and they don't even make sense
That is called Fodder Tales, it is inticing to watch people be pressed in interviews about alledged sightings. The more candid a person is the more likely they saw something ( something unexpainable) randomly. In other interviews you can deduct fabrication.
You mention BS, I actual suggest the Penn and Teller Bullsh** Episoid on Youtube BS Cryptozoologist.
The mind has a habit of "filling in the blanks" and jumping to conclusions.
Who knows if it is real or not.

The Psychology behind me doing what I did, which was a long time ago, was a bet!
The bet was to see if we could hood wink some friends. Nothing malicious, as we came clean afterwards.
It also showed us how easy it is to fool people which then caused us to re-evaluate our own investigations.
In context such shows are about not beliefs ( faith without evidence), but about how convinced one is by not only the Vid clip, but the background story as well.
An example is the latest clearing of a series of home vids that made it to
Ames Research Investigation, the people that crafted the expirement have since come forward. I have seen Vid footage presented as UFO, and though I was reserved, others more " on board" with UFOlogy where already in the
" I told you so, admit it you don't k ow what that is.. " phase, it turned out to be footage (knowinly shot footage) of a night time Hot Air Balloon Launch,
little cigar shaped figures " zipping around" in the sky.
I still remember the Simpsons Eposiod when Homer "saw an Alien".
stories that have stayed with the times because people claim that they still see these creatures, some stories are fasinating yet other say bull from the first clip
I don't believe 100% of it is rubbish, though perhaps 99%. I think at one time the giant squid was considered a myth as well as the white whale. Science has explored enough to announce they are real, though they certainly don't backtrack to the days when scientists denounced their existences to recant. Most 'evidence' is blurry until a National Geographic photographer leaps in. Then, it's science.
I think we tend to accept too readily that our five senses are the end all, be all and anything which exists beyond our own limited perceptions can't possibly exist until science tells us so. We need special tools to see the microscopic world as well as the cosmos. I don't think tools have yet been invented to see in other spaces. Not yet. Until that happens, we can expect blurry photos and Uncle Bob first-hand accounts.
A group of researchers, sent two teams out to a "suspected Big Foot habitat" they observed all the preparations that the teams made to seek a Photo opt of Big Foots'.
The prevailing opinion of the "hunters" was "We need more equipment."
I tend to agree, how easily could a "big foot' or other cryptocreature area be surrounded by cameras, of various spectrums. Ahh but there is the rub, even with the conviction these "hunters" claim they seldom come " out of pocket" for equipment, it is always an invest- in- me catch.
generally the thought of cameras in the woods hunting is not taken, so the oppurtunity is lost to phot opps, yet generalization or specualtions of such monsters surviving now is so out of date.
Ok, a crowd of people with cameras, trucks, and more cameras in the woods. If I were a bigfoot, I'd consider moving to the city. ;)
I saw it! Ever notice how knowone can ever focus the camera in!
Had I saw the thing in the air , I would have shot it and put an end to the mystery!
Sometimes I think we mistake something commonplace for something paranormal. Where is this show Monster Quest shown? I have never heard of it, probably because I mostly watch movies, lol.
There are numerous things we still can't explain ie Mothman that was mentioned. There is still a big debate on orbs and shadow people and this has been going on for years and many think they have the answers but for all of them you have others who say no. Who is researching this siting? Anyone in particular or was it so odd it just went on tv to make money?
As for you Dabbler, you are so cute. Going to put you in a vat of marshmallows and pour chocolate over you and put on the front of it. "Want some more," lol. Your views are always a given. Do you ever leave room for what ifs? :)
who cares about the flying humanoid.............if you could capture bigfoot and the loch-ness monster you could make bank on that.
I have to say that I have been able to watch the footage on you tube as the link which was posted didn't work because I like in the UK.
My thoughts....
What a load of rubbish the first piece of footage was a dummy being suspended by a wire or something.
The second piece was a man being suspended by a wire....
Blurred as normal and not in focus...shock horror!
why do we have to know? why do we have to always be trying to prove or disprove things. Whether it is real or not does not matter. If it is leave it the hell alone , if its not then putting it in the sport light will only give it more reason to be there to be seen. there is no wonder that the mysteries of life are no longer a mystery.Someone,s always wanting to hunt it down.
I can assure you that if you pick and consume enough wild mushrooms the flying dog becomes quite real!
I know that if we didn't ask questions and investigate the unknown, then we may still think the world is flat and not round...ish ^^ And come on, a mystery will arouse curiosity or suspence because of an obscure or enigmatic unknown!
Do you never ask questions?: )
That LadySnowStrixx, is why people investigate.....I hope this has helped
Yum mushrooms...love em!
Monster Quest is on The History Channel every Wednesday.
maybe they faked it with a costume and a flying suit lol
Mankind has always had a very large curiousity for things of the unknown. That's why they went to the new world and completely ruined it more or less. There are still wilderness areas and we are curious about them and usually when enough go to investigate and dig in places they leave behind devastation even with the artifacts they find. People see a lot of things but sometimes it is illusion, a mistake. Look at the rods. People thought they were a paranormal phenomenon but the scientists are fairly sure they are a species of insect that moves so quickly the eye cannot catch it in certain lines of sight. They are usually pretty high but they have been captured by cameras and thought to be something paranormal. If it is something we haven't as yet discovered and they are discovering new things everyday. If it appears odd with very little facts, it is thought of as something paranormal in many cases. This may be a one time thing and they will never figure it out. Some will get obsessed such as those hunting bigfoot and search for years...let them.

I have watched several of the Monster Quests on the History channel and have been fascinated at what they do in their research. I don't know if it is a figment of the imagination or the mind playing games. The mind tends to play games on us when it is put into a fight or flight situation.
However, I believe there are many species that have not been identified yet. So there are many possibilities to your question.

I guess it's human nature to "prove or disprove" things in nature.
to maintain observational discovery, over speculation regarding Mythological creatures placed in a "what-if 'context.
Dab brought up the recent case of the UFO sightings aka balloons. If you haven't seen all the videos (several and very long), you really should. While the two guys were actually charged and ordered to pay small fines and some community service, their experiment proves volumes.
Theses two guys fooled thousands, if not more, and made national news. You can draw tons of conclusions, but for me it clearly proves that people need to explain things and often jump to conclusions. More interestingly was the wild accounts people gave. It was entertaining to watch the ex-pilot say that he was experienced enough to know what was and was not a balloon and then state there was no way they were balloons. He thought is credentials made his opinion fact.
With that said, you can't prove or disprove everything, you can only put it all together and draw some "logical" conclusions. There are plenty of ghost videos out there that can't be explained. It's a free world, draw your own conclusions.
I think its both. On one hand i think its real and on the other not. One theres a part that wants it to be real, so i perceive it as such. Then theres the other that thinks that theres no such things as monsters or things that go bump in the night. But if there is then they should be left to their own. Its not right to broadcast them to the world. Lifes mysterys are almost extincted as it is. Do we really want to lose what we have left to.
As humans, we will always search for answers. Without answers, we have fear. Religion is the best example.
Thats true we are only human right.{laugh} well some i guess.
Looking or specualting that certain monsters are out ther is just that. speculation, humans falicy is that they wish to know everything and search for the truth when sometimes there is none to discover.
Could be a trick of the mind but hey who really knows what we share the world with..
I still believe that there are thongs in this world we have yet to discover, they just found a couple of animal they though were extincted, here in my area. as for UFO's if they are really intelligent lifeforms wouldn't you think they have technology good enough not to be caught?
Yeah, I still believe that there are *thongs* in this world I have yet to discover....I don't like to wear them because they chaff my cheeks...sorry lol
You know I really do feel bitter and twisted because all the years I have being attempting to capture something, I have failed.
The only time I got something was when I faked it.....
Sorry but I have to agree with dabbler on this one. I think it is just good old media sensationalism!
I think they are partly real and partly imagination, they see something far away or quickly and they cant make it out completly so there imagination comes into play to try and explain what they saw to themselves.
Satan Kimi Rings the Bell.
Thats the phenomena aspect, and in review of Paranormal/ Crypto Claims Investigation ( not to be confused with Paranormal Investigators)
By investigating those who report such sightings the "pool" can be narrowed ( not necessarily by credible, incredible) but by out right hoax by the reporting party, a prank hoax played on the reporting party(s), or as Kimi States, an actual anomalous* sighting.
* natural occuring visual phenomena, or chance optical illusion ( Micheal Jacksons "Apparition" being an example.
Media is part of the following of these lores, yet communities and their individuals start this manipulation of the lore, why? because they believe in what they say or finicial states needed to boost tourism.
I don't know about those issues. But it would be neat for someone to find a new species without killing it, trapping it, caging it just to prove it exists.
Just observe, document and record the information like Croc Hunter did. He was a true Icon with respect for all living things on this planet.
Well, the flying humanoid I don't know. I don't want to say yes, but I don't want to completely say know. People like animals do adapt to their environments through generations. As far as the dog though...yeah. Quite possible. I mean, I don't see any reason why a dog couldn't basically go on a rampage through town...especially if it was a wild one. One that left it's owner or got loose and was living in the mountains or woods.
Fasination = Rates = money! Ching, ching!
" A fool born ever minute makes someone else rich!"
well stated yet some incident show mass sightings or hysteria of monsters,
