I'm often persecuted against for being pagan and more so when people learn more about my lifestyle even in these modern times. The other day I learned that there was a christmas activity getting banned because it had strong christian tones and offended atheists. My stance is that if something like that offends you then just don't participate. I raised my voice in defense of the christians right to carry on this activity and recieved ridicule by the christians in that group because I'm not christian. Just because I'm pagan doesn't mean that I cannot support the rights of other religions and it really upset me. Paganism has been strongly persecuted by christianity for years so I'd think they'd be grateful that a non christian would be willing to support them in thier rights to free worship. I want those rights myself so I do not wish to stifle any one elses rights. To me thier reaction was further persecution toward my beliefs and ultimately hurt thier stand on thier rights to continue thier activities. I just looked at them and said "well good luck then. Clearly you're all on your own." I just don't understand people. And for crying out loud, I do not worship the devil! How can I worship a being that I don't even believe in?
