I am starting this in the main forum because of it's prior popularity and Vampire lifestyle recognized similarities.
I am reopening this thread for the benefit of those who have just joined and those who are just finding it in the forum- as suggested by Moreish. There are parallels between Indigo Children, and some of the traits with people that live Vampiric lifestyle.
I thought it was a relevant subject to bring up as many people on Vampire Rave claim to have many of these qualities- yet they have never heard of Indigos. What I bring to you here in this mere thread are just highlights of interest for you to take and explore. I hope that you decide to take this information and google away :)
"They think differently, their emotional bodies process feelings differently, their energy bodies are capable of holding stronger soul vibrations, and they have a new vision to share. They do not fit into mainstream society. Many of them appear to have special psychic and healing abilities, and [they] need special support to control and develop these gifts."
Indigos are often labeled with ADD.
10 attributes of an Indigo Child:
They come into the world with a feeling of royalty (and often act like it).
They have a feeling of "deserving to be here," and are surprised when others don't share that.
Self-worth is not a big issue; they often tell the parents "who they are."
They have difficulty with absolute authority (authority without explanation or choice).
They simply will not do certain things; for example, waiting in line is difficult for them.
They get frustrated with systems that are ritually oriented and don't require creative thought.
They often see better ways of doing things, both at home and in school, which makes them seem like "system busters" (nonconforming to any system).
They seem antisocial unless they are with their own kind. If there are no others of like consciousness around them, they often turn inward, feeling like no other human understands them. School is often extremely difficult for them socially.
They will not respond to "guilt" discipline ("Wait till your father gets home and finds out what you did").
They are not shy in letting it be known what they need.
Could this be you, your child, someone you know?
Thanks for your time in reading. :)
well that kind of sounds like me growing up but i have never heard of an indigo
it is a more popular term but has been around for about 6 years now if not more.
i will try to include some good links my friends are very much into their indigo selves.*smiles
Okay now I want to at the very least know what indog is, you say it has been around for 6 years, right? I have never heard of such.
And don't forget my good friend, Doreen Virtue. She has many books out and is one of the main sources of info. She was also the first to teach worldwide about these children.
Just google her name.
And how would you know whether or not you're part of the Indigo children? Just curious

There are online tests you can take... don't think of it as a condition- if you are one, just read about it and learn new techniques to deal with things about yourself you may be questioning.
from metagifted.org:
Have strong self esteem, connection to source
Know they belong here until they are told otherwise
Have an obvious sense of self
Have difficulty with discipline and authority
Refuse to follow orders or directions
Find it torture to waiting in lines, lack patience
Get frustrated by ritual-oriented systems that require little creativity
Often see better ways of doing thing at home and at school
Are mostly nonconformists
Do not respond to guilt trips, want good reasons
Get bored rather easily with assigned tasks
Are rather creative
Are easily distractible, can do many things at once
Display strong intuition
Have strong empathy for others or NO empathy
Develop abstract thinking very young
Are gifted and/or talented, highly intelligent
Are often identified or suspected of having ADD or ADHD, but can focus when they want to
Are talented daydreamers and visionaries
Have very old, deep, wise looking eyes
Have spiritual intelligence and/or psychic skills
Often express anger outwardly rather than inwardly and may have trouble with rage
Need our support to discover themselves
Are here to change the world - to help us live in greater harmony and peace with one another and to raise the vibration of the planet
Okay now, I can relate to at least a few of what you listed there. lol The rest I'll have to explore for myself

To all who's interested- Indigo Children will be spotlighted tomorrow on the show 'Inside Edition'- it comes on a CBS affiliate here in New Orleans at 4PM.
On a side note- if you read this thread and you don't know anything about it or have no comments, there's really no need to post 'sorry I don't know'. Just move on to a thread you have something to offer to, or don't post. I am not forum moderator- no... just a peeve.
I only heard of the word. I didn't know anything else about it. I used to think is a tribe or a culture.
Images~ Thank you for posting more information on this. It seems to have many different aspects of the individual that can/or will be effected. I am curious to look into it more as it explains many things that I had yet to understand.
Also to note, it brings to mind the movie "What the Bleep do we know" as that looks at our being from a different view~ for some reason I associate this to the Indigo children as it seems to me, part of what they do is "create their world" as the movie explains. Only they do it unconsciously. At least that is my limited view.
I look forward to watching that broadcast (YAY a channel I get!).
This sortof reminds me of the game Indigo Prophecy. Words from a couple of characters. "An Indigo child who's soul is so pure and never been incarnated."

sahahria- I think you missed it :( It was on a couple hours ago.
They'll probably show it again. Sometimes they show things for a few things. Though I think that's for some subjects.
Hope not! Inside edition shows at a later time here (I'm Pacific) Not yet 5 yet ;)

oh- cool beans :) I didn't realize that.
It dodn't get into all the detail I've previously read- not as informative as I'd hoped. I guess I would moreso recommend the movie BillytheJust pointed out in the other Indigo thread.
That sounded exactly like me the entire time I was reading. Heh.
