well what i would like to know is "your thoughts, opinions, experiences"
for the site members firstly i would like to know are you pretty satisfied with how the site is ran and do you feel that the vr staff does a good and fair job in keeping it ran properly?
do you as site members feel that the staff of vr does thier job without being bias and in acordance with the vr manual or do you feel sometimes they overlook or perhaps even are to strict?
now for the VR STAFF how do you feel about the members on this site do you feel they are understandable and recognize that you are doing your job to help keep the site in order or do you feel they take things to personal when you are repremanding them for the breaking or rules, guidelines or T.O.S.
overall as staff members do you find yourself ever getting frustrated while doing your job duties on the dark network collective sites and do you ever feel you or other dark network staff overstep thier boundaries
and in general, this question is to all..do you feel the dark network staff and the members get along well or do you feel a tension and a seperation of the two?
wow, now this should get good, well as for my views at times I understand what they do but I think they should learn how to speak to people better because sometimes they come off harsh.
I remember when the site was only Vampyric and if it had nothing to do with the vampyric nature it was not allowed.
I think the site has changed a lot and I miss the old site.
It says its a site for the real vampire community but I dont feel it is.
I also feel that because us pm's pay for the site to support it we should be respected as paying customers. instead of being told that if we don't like it leave. because if all PM's left the site would have some major problems. but this is just my views.
As a non-staff member, I've found that most of the VR staff are polite and knowledgeable...however, I've run into two rude, condescending VR staffers...who happen to be really high sires. I guess I caught them on a bad day.
I've noticed that some of us - non-staffers - neglect to read and adhere to the VR rules as well...how many times have we seen people ask questions that are easily answered in the VR manual, or those who constanly get their portfolios suspended due to inappropriate images?
In short - there are cool and not so cool members from both groups.
I have nothing but respect for the staff on this site.
Considering that they give so much of their time and smarts unpaid I'm considering putting one or two of em up for sainthood !
Like most of us I have seen that some members have had problems with the staff, such things can be dealt with if the protocol is met.
Any message/ perceived rudeness /bias should be kept and sent to the appropriate admin to be dealt with.
Quite often things get out of hand quickly, made public in journals etc and that's when the "fun" starts. I know how easy it is to get carried away with online drama as I've done it myself, I also know that I've felt pretty silly after calming down and realising that to take such things too seriously is such a waste of energy.

I get along with pretty much all member on this site and I love it. I have not met one admin or seen anything done that would be considered overstepping their duty. We follow only what we are told in the manual and tos. I show all members respect and speak to them the same because no member is lesser than the next no matter if your a whelp or staff you are still a person. Yes there are member that are going to be immature when you suspend something but thats just them being immature. Some people can't handle being told they can't have something their way (VR is not bk). I'm never frustrated at my job duties. I love helping to keep the site organized and in order. We are volunteered staff if a staff member doesn't like their job they shouldn't be staff (my opinion). I dont believe there is a tension between staff and members. I never felt it as a regular member and even as a sentoran i'm still no shy or feel awkward to message a reg member and just say hey how is your day going?
In conclusion I believe no staff member has the right to be rude or disrespectful to any member.
Non staff member do also though need to read the manual and tos and realize when staff does do something its only because YOU are violating one of these.
In most cases if people have an issue with a staff member it is because they are contravention of the terms of service (tos) Staff have to do their job However, there are ways to converse with people which we all must observe.
Here the Administration members must stick tightly to the rules and have much less lee-way then just us regular members.
If you have any issues with a staff member here then remember protocol by taking it to the higher members of staff first for resolution.
well for me i am half and half, i have been on this sight for 3 years under this name and another name
and have seen this sight change and grow
what i dont like is all the adds that pop up on the pages sometimes they freeze my computer so bad i have to re start it. or i cant close the add.
i think with time when it comes to the forums and the people who ran them i thought half of them were jack offs, when they would close the forum many found humilating the people the best way to deal with it. which i did not agree with.
then there were others who would privalty massage you the reason for closing there forume and be respectfull or some would be brats but they had the decenly to do it in private.
the only other thing i did not like was on my old name when the stats were changed for the grading system i would always be droped down a lot when i was only a leavel or 2 from sires, that was quite frustrating
what i do like
is when i have had a question i would be able to ask a staff and if they did not know the answer they would be honest and try to find some one to help you
the sight can be quit addictive at times
I do my job without influence
if one of my member or friend is breaking the rules, sorry...hate me all you want but I am the first to go and report them.
I did it in the past, and will do it again. I did it for my coven members, for friends.
Rules are there for a reason. To avoid chaos and to make sure the site can be enjoyable for everyone.
Only those not following the rules find it not enjoyable.
Sorry.
Also the reverse is the same, if a member does good and I hate that member, I will not cause trouble, I will do professionally my job and clarify answer questions and help in any way I can to resolve what needs to be resolve.
I did it in the past and will do it again.
I help some who were suspended that corrected the issue and I was not in good terms at all with them, still I helped them and show them what to do to fixt it and to contact a sentorian to have the suspension remove.
A position Cancer gives is a trust place upon the one who gets it, therefore that trust has to be earn and respected.
The experience has been a fun one for me. Over the past 15 months I had met some exceptional people, though there have been a few tactless parasites that have made me a bit angry. As I continue on as a Sire and possibly soon a Coven Master I still enjoy the site enough to call it an addiction I will NEVER need rehab for....lol
As for the administrators, I believe they do a wonderful job in helping Cancer run the site- I have never taken issue with the way they have done their jobs here. Quite a few of them are also rather friendly, so it works out in that respect as well.
I've been here since 2005 and if I still log in, it means I like it here.
When I was a regular member I enjoyed the site and never had problems with Staff members and when I did wrong I admitted it.
As a Dominar I still enjoy the site, people usually understand when they do wrong, when I get asked questions regarding the site I reply back and some even thank after I help them but not always the person understands.
I am glad though that many appreciate and realise we're people too.
I do personaly thank the Staff for telling me what I have done wrong. Some of the Staff are friendly, abit to friendly...*winks to the Staff*
I have chatted with some Staff when the situation is needed to be chatted about, and they are a wonderful group of Staff.
I've been off and on this site for a few years myself. I have seen a good bit of changes as well. As a member of it, i can respect that the administrators are doing their share to keep the site maintained as well as possible. I have had a few not so great encounters with a couple of them in the past based on images displayed which i did change, yet i have seen the same image on another's profile without it being cut. I think it's a matter of what is acceptable to the person in general.
I still respect the site's rules and usually i never have a problem otherwise.
I've never had issue with any of of the VR Staff. When I have had the need to go over something or need advice, they have been nothing but helpful and patient.
There are some Staff Members who are more direct (or seemingly curt) in their approach. There are quite a few here who might consider "direct" as being biased simply because they are being "told' what to do (which can be as simple as removing an image which is not in accordance with The VR Manual, TOS or DMCA Policy).
They are just doing their job.
I can understand using a Staff Member taking the direct approach when they have to watch (and sometimes babysit) and deal with many who have an attitude, disrespect and do not follow rules as outlined the VR Manual.
One of the reaons I have been a member here so long (For me, if a site keeps me interested and active for over a month, it is a long time) is due to the fact that VR does have rules which are enforced and because it keeps me engaged.
I have nothing but respect for the Staff of VR.
As with everything, there will always be favorites that somehow never manage to be punished for disobeying the site's SOP but for the most part, I think it's run pretty well.
does anyone who answer this get to walk the plank?
so.. you know from that I've had issues, with the way some have interpreted the rules, both members and, staff alike.
but compare this to Vampire Freaks.. and their children.. ?
well, I'm happy.. erm, content.
I have been with VR for more then 3 years and the only problem that I encountered was when I posted some pictures, taken by me and my portfolio was suspended because I was using some Internet pictures. Beside that, the site is great. I am a lifetime member and will be around forever.
I've been here five years now and have never had a cross word with any staffer. Some are more friendly then others, but that is to be expected. Some will close a forum a little quicker then others. VR has rules. We have several people who interpret the rules has they understand them, that to is to be expected.
I have got no problem with anyone in VR. Yes you get rude and opinionated ppl in here but that is out in the real world also so why wouldnt there be any in here. Over all I think both staff and members can be helpfull and the majority of the time when someone comes across harsh it is only because of how something is written as we all read things differently. I have been in VR for a while now and if I had any problems then I would of left.

I personally have always enjoyed my time on VR. I have met some extraordinary individuals that I am still to this day in touch with, some closer than others.
As a Dominar, I try very hard to be friendly, helpful, and professional. I always attempt to keep my cool, and not become argumentative with any member. HOWEVER, I have found that occasionally there is the member that just wants to pick a fight just to do so. I have had to close threads of friends of mine just as I have had to do with regular members. I like to give a thread a chance before I close it and will always post something asking for more elaboration or clarity just to keep it going and give it a chance, there is usually a time limit given with that chance.
I seem to have made a name in a sense of being known as the Drama Nazi, because I do not put up with drama at all. It ruins everyone's fun. I still try to be polite and respectful by giving warnings, more than required for that matter. It does bother me at time to see so many people just be plain rude to other members and belittle them for their opinions. I feel that is non productive as there are many ways to question or disagree with a person without down right calling a person daft. Respect is something I personally would like to see members have for one another more, but most ARE respectful.
I find that most members understand I am just simply doing what has been asked of me to do and taking my position seriously and as an honor to have been chosen to help with such a wonderful place to spend time and meet people. :) However as I said, there are a few that just like to be plain rude despite my efforts of kindness and politeness. That is to be expected anywhere in life though. :)
