The CBS news has reported that many sites found by searching for things related to twilight are tricking people into downloading a virus by claiming their computer is infected and to download the software they offer to remove it. I thought it would be good to have a thread where people can share any sites that should be avoided if they find them.

It is really pathetic! I can't believe that these people have no life, and waste time creating viruses and trojans to ruin peoples computers.

Actually these have been around quite some time. If a site or more often an advertisement on the internet - no matter what the site is about - states you have a virus - do not believe it!

As far as I know, only anti-virussoftware installed on your computer is able to check your computer to find or not find a virus. Not some site. If so... :S *yikes* they would be able to search through your computer from online.

That is sad when people use things such as that and now there is an H1N1 e-mail that carries a virus when you open it to let them have assess to your computer and all your info. people are just wrong.

They said that the Email represents the CDC and says it will give info on how to get the Vaccine yet, it is just a hoax for hackers and to send you a virus.. so please beware all. They said just clicking on it will allow them intoyour computer.

I guess with the joblosses and money losses people are doing whatever to get others hard earned money and there info. :(

Indeed in fact anime/manga sites tend to be full of viruses too.

I haven't come across any but I'll pass the information along to my sister. She's obsessed. *laughs*
Thanks.
