If the werewolves and vampires did not get along , a big if. what would be possible reasons why?

Please, nothing from Underworld. This is if it could happen.

i believe that the vampire and werewolf of the older lore are one and the same...that said:

if they were different critters and didnt get along i think the reason is that if you have two apex predators living in close proximity and competing for the same prey, then there will be friction, which could manifest as aggressive behavior until one of the predator groups is driven from the territory.

yeah...zoology 101

I do not get the claim from your post ~Lordwolf~, please supply some testimony to your " they are the same" bit. What makes you come to this conclusion?

I would have to honestly agree with LordWolf's comment on this. If there was any real conflict between the two it would be for the same reasons why Lions and Hyenas do not get along.

Though in literature most hostilities between the two seem to be attributed to what appears to be some kind of genetic elitism that reminds Me alot of modern racist groups.

I am guessing that this thread is based off of actual facts and not fictional literal points of view? It is very hard to swallow that people believe in actual vampires and werewolfs as entities themselves? Within the population as seen on a regular basis? What is the reality behind this thread?

A pet hypathetical, perhaps a phishing expedition, to expand on preconcieved ideals. sort of funny how Underworld is mentioned, why not mention White Wolf as well, they present Wyrm (Vampires) and Lychan as mortal enemies as well.

In fictional spectulation anyone can manage to image a reasonable idea regarding a rivalry.

But here I sense that there is an attempt to imply that Vampires, and Lycan exist.

That is precisely what I am asking ~Dab~. Is if anyone here actually thinks the folkloric persona's of the werewolf exists, or if anyone here claims to actually be a werewolf and not "lycan" or other roleplay terms for such.

I wonder if the hypathetical spectulation will be adopted as factual.

It seems this thread topic has been attempted in many differnent ways.

When the concept is a fabrication of fiction, why people are so adament. I am picturing some very delussional individuals actually presenting themselves as being lycan, and indicating they harbor some fued with Vampires. So they could well be Phishing for a convincing "rationalization". All there is is Underworld, and White Wolf, before that. Then before both The Old Movie, Werewolf vs Dracula. It is all to convince their peers that they are somehow credible.

To convince peers that the individual is credible based on movies, is in my opinion hogwash. This would mean that the individual is completely narrow minded and may believe just about everything they see, read and or hear. The word "naivety" comes to mind.

vvSoulshroudevv......dabbler......

Try to look at it as a question into the psychology behind the ingrained preconception. In fiction, fantasy, and subculture. Even when talking with some who claim to be Vampire ot Werewolf, one talks about the other with such transparent distaste. Why? Does fiction inspire warped fantasized reality of some Hatfield and McCoy blood fued with no apparent origin? Those who claim to be Werewolves and Vampires hate eachother because Vampires and Werewolves hate eachother, and that is just the way it is? Why is this concept so popular?

The bases for the fued is fictional. Plan and simple.

Those who profess to be Vampires, and lycans are
searching for some sensational fantastic rivalry.

Without Dracula vs Wofman, Underworld, and White Wolf there would be no "concept" to hypathetically mine for "possible reasons".

I can just picture a person that wants a reason to not socialize with someone who professes to be a vampire, first they profess to be a werewolf, then they adopt the contempary myth, that Lycan, are not compatible with Lycan.

This thread is beating a dead horse.

Thank you ~Dab~, I could not have posted it better myself. To think this is some sort of psychological thing is irrational to boot.

This thread is a Hypathetical, based on a double hypathetical, "If" Vampires, and Lycan existed (in literary tradition ways), then "if" they had a fued..

Unless it is an honest Writers development thread, and for creative purposes.

Yet, I sense that some here would be inclined to use such Hypathetical/creative musing as fodder for fabrications that will then be used in attempts to "school" their peers, peers who proballly are tired of hearing about how they (vampires), cannot co-mingle with Them (lycan). Pathetic.. yes, but plausible.

In the literary (book) sense, it is up to the author of the storyline to create a relationship between the two characters based on how they would interact with one anther. Build the character bios, then add the storyline from there.

In a nutshell, it is all up to the author whether there is a fued or friendship between the two characters. It is up to the author to create the co-existance or to add to the drama.

Therefore this thread is based on literary theory. Nuff said...

Only you lot can actually create a conspiracy out of a literary thread

OMG it’s made my day after stuffing turkey and feeling sick with it

No one else has yet replied but in the matter of a few texts between you all of a sudden "we" have created a thread to control the masses of wannabee's through peer pressure and manipulation of words

Still chuckling

seems that there are always a couple of people that want to dominate a conversation, and rather than just playing along want to inject all of the negativity they can to shut down a conversation.
shame really...its one of the reasons i rarely post on the forum.

i fully agree with you , its sad. i mean make your point and move on lol

ok here is my take on why vampires and were wolfs might not get along

i think were wolfs are more superior in many ways compared to a vampire

they can go out in the day
do not have to live by drinking blood
have super strenght all day and night
are not replied by holy objects
can have children
do not have to sleep in coffins with dirt froim there home lands

these are my reasons why, all taken from lore

"seems that there are always a couple of people that want to dominate a conversation, and 'rather than just playing along' want to inject all of the negativity they can to shut down a conversation."

Always whining, Louise...

Rather then just playing along? A certain few here are actually not into the "roleplay" dramatics that drive certain threads into oblivious scenerios of fiction based discussions. We certain few are realists who would not fall privvy to far fetched ideals or manipulation.

Members here are at times bashed for roleplay scenerio's, but when one tries to debunk a thread for what it is, those members who seem to have been condemned, share in that bashing toward those who bashed. Quid pro quo and the like.

Quit acting like children and whining about a thread when they are simple words on a screen and get back on topic if that is what you so choose instead of burrying your own thread into the ground deeper then what it already is.

Stay on topic or close the thread if you do not like what others say within it, or ask the Dominars to delete those certain posts of which are irrelevant to the poster's perception of what the thread brings to the table.

Nuff said...

It is rather relative to seek clarity.

As here on VR people blur the lines between fantasy, and actuality quite often.

There is even an element here that frown, and scoff all creative spectulation, As some replies to my past post
have demonstrated.

A clearier topic thread would have set the discussion much better.

It is hypathetical, but inquiring for details is relavent for this forum.

Terretorial would be a fact of the creatures if they did battle. Like many know creatures of today boundaries are set up for themselves and their pack or family

Fictional thoughts brought together by media.

What kind of werewolves and vampires are we talking about? The exaggerated-by-Hollywood fictitious types? Or something with a stronger literary & folk-tale origin?

two questions...
first...dabbler wrote that this conversation is beating a dead horse...
well, if that is your thougth, then why continue with it. it seems to give you a great satisfaction to be atheists in the church. lol

and soul shroud...i guess the question ive always had is that if you dont have any level of belief, and dont seem to want to tolerate anyone elses beliefs or even flights of fancy, why do you haunt the forum?
just my thoughts, your mileage may vary
