A group at my univeristy is currently doing a study on how many people that got married while the hand of the clock was going down ( ::01 - ::30 minute hand) ended in divorce ; as compared to those that got married with the hand going up on the hour that did not.
Stricking, the numbers are 9 to 1 on the divorce side.
Can you help us with this clock Hex therory?
Either yourself or someone you know?
Does anyone have a theory to this?
sorry i didnt quite understand what you were explaining about up and down... and I have never heard of this theory sounds interesting
Say you set your wedding at 12 noon, you are getting married as the clock minute hand strokes down towards 12:30 pm.
Seems to have a hex on marriages that happen as the clock ticks down, instead of up on the hour like ; 1:30 pm going up towards 2pm.
"Clock Strikes Down vs Clock Moves Up"
I personally wouldn't put any stock into this. I hadn't heard about it. But it sounds like hogwash to me.
Time to me really does'nt seem to be a factor
if one divorces or not.
That would be like saying if one marries while the moon is waning it will take away from the marriage
Full Moon it would be a powerful marriage...etc
hmmmm i was on the downward LOL and i have been happily married for over 20 years now lol you sure it isnt the other way around :P
It started out as a study on high divorce rates amung healthcare workers.
Taking the stress home and what not. As the study progressed, one astrology student started scanning over them seasons, months, etc. of when people were wed, with no irrelevant findings, until he started looking closely at copies of their wedding invites they keep in their scrap books etc.
He noticed a strange fraction of the time in which they where wed.
So he moved the study outward to other groups to collect data.
I'm not looking for verification of this theory, ONLY INPUT!
If still happily married and have your announcement, what time was your wedding set?
If divorced, and still have a copy of that announcment, what time was yours set for.
Weddings never go as planned. What if the invite was set for a "dropping" time, but the vows actually occured on a "climbing" time? Does the intended time doom you from the start? And if so, does that mean you subconsciously wanted your wedding to fail?
I get it I was married the 1st time at 3:00 and was divorced.
The second time at 9 in the morning by a mayor
The 3rd time to the second marriage was at 7 at night by a mayor.
So the 1st time to a man
the second and third time to the same man.
Yea, blame it all on some clock..
How desperate can people be? Fabricating Superstitions!
What if the church, or justice of peace has a digital clock?

As far as divorce rates go... I don't think it is because people don't deal with relationships as well as they used to. I think we've always been this way- just in older days people didn't divorce because they didn't want to look bad in a society when it was more frowned upon. People will be more likely these days to seek freedom from a bad situation than stay just for show.
It doesn't work for everyone. No mystery to it.
I see nothing wrong in looking for input or asking for help when looking for data and statistics. I, for one, have never heard of such an idea but who am I to say that it doesnt have an effect. stranger things have happened.
I agree with this as a hogwash theory. Someone or a group seems to be reaching for some kind of new divination process to cope with their boredom.
Thank You Sire mysticwinds, so 2/3 times you were married on a down hand of the clock.
Mine is 2/2, not going for a third though! LOL:)
Thank you coolleyhou, 40% is alot higher than expected.
