I was wondering if anyone can tell me more about astro awakening. Me and some friends have been doing a lot of research into the pagan life style and how to begin our journey. So while searching info we came across astro awakening, and I was wondering is this a good place to start and could you guys lends some advice?

Well there are millions of ways thousands I would not suggest.
The monroe Technique is the easiest for new people I guess.

Step One:

Relax the body. According to Monroe, "the ability to relax is the first prerequisite, perhaps even the first step itself" to having an OBE. (out of body experience). This includes both physical and mental relaxation. Monroe does not suggest a method of attaining this relaxation, although progressive muscle relaxation, coupled with deep breathing exercises (inhale 1, exhale 2, inhale 3... until about 50 or 100) are known to work well.

Step Two:

Enter the state bordering sleep. This is known as the hypnogogic state. Once again, Monroe doesn't recommend any method of doing this. One way is to hold your forearm up, while keeping your upper arm on the bed, or ground. As you start to fall asleep, your arm will fall, and you will awaken again. With practice you can learn to control the hypnogogic state without using your arm. Another method is to concentrate on an object. When other images start to enter your thoughts, you have entered the hypnogogic state. Passively watch these images. This will also help you maintain this state of near-sleep. Monroe calls this Condition A.

Step Three:

Deepen this state. Begin to clear your mind. Observe your field of vision through your closed eyelids at the blackness in front of your. After a while you may start to notice light patterns. These are simply neural discharges. They have no specific effect. Ignore them. When they cease, one has entered what Monroe calls Condition B. From here, one must enter an even deeper state of relaxation which Monroe calls Condition C-- a state of such relaxation that you lose all awareness of the body and sensory stimulation. You are almost in a void in which your only source of stimulation will be your own thoughts.

The ideal state for leaving your body is Condition D. This is Condition C when it is voluntarily induced from a rested and refreshed condition and is not the effect of normal fatigue. To achieve Condition D, Monroe suggests that you practice entering it in the morning just as you are getting up, or after a short nap.

Step Four:

Enter a state of Vibration. This is the most important part of the technique, and also the most vague. Many projectors have noted these vibrations at the onset of projection. They can be experienced as a mild tingling, or as if electricity is being shot through the body. Their cause is a mystery. It may actually be the astral body trying to leave the physical body.

For entering into the vibrational state, he offers the following directions:

1. Remove all jewelry or other items that might be touching your skin.

2. Darken the room so that no light can be seen through your eyelids, but do not shut out all light.

3. Lie down with your body along a north-south axis, with your head pointed toward magnetic north.

4. Loosen all clothing, but keep covered so that you are slightly warmer than what might normally be comfortable.

5. Be sure you are in a location where, and at a time when, there will be absolutely no noise to disturb you.

6. Enter a state of relaxation.

7. Give yourself the mental suggestion that you will remember all that occurs during the upcoming session that will be beneficial to your well being. Repeat this five times.

8. As your breathe, concentrate on the void in front of you.

9. Select a point a foot away from your forehead, then change your point of mental reference to six feet.

10. Turn the point 90 degrees upward by drawing an imaginary line parallel to your body axis up above you head. Focus there and reach out for the vibrations at that point and bring them back into your body.

Even if you don't know what these vibrations are, you will know when you have achieved contact with them.

Step Five:

Learn to control the vibrational state. Practice controlling them by mentally pushing them into your head, down to your toes, making them surge throughout your entire body, and producing vibrational waves from head to foot. To produce this wave effect, concentrate on the vibrations and mentally push a wave out of your head and guide it down your body. Practice this until you can induce these waves on command. Once you have control of the vibrational state, you are ready to leave the body.

Step Six:

Begin with a partial separation. The key here is thought control. Keep your mind firmly focused on the idea of leaving the body. Do not let it wander. Stray thoughts might cause you to lose control of the state.

Now having entered the vibrational state, begin exploring the OBE by releasing a hand or a foot of the "second body". Monroe suggests that you extend a limb until it comes in contact with a familiar object, such as a wall near your bed. Then push it through the object. Return the limb by placing it back in to coincidence with the physical one, decrease the vibrational rate, and then terminate the experiment. Lie quietly until you have fully returned to normal. This exercise will prepare you for full separation.

Step Seven:

Dissociate yourself from the body. Monroe suggests two methods for this. One method is to lift out of the body. To do this, think about getting lighter and lighter after entering the vibrational state. Think about how nice it would be to float upward. Keep this thought in mind at all costs and let no extraneous thoughts interrupt it. An OBE will occur naturally at this point.

Another method is the "Rotation Method" or "roll-out" technique. When you have achieved the vibrational state, try to roll over as if you were turning over in bed. Do not attempt to roll over physically. Try to twist your body from the top and virtually roll over into your second body right out of your physical self. At this point, you will be out of the body, but next to it. Think of floating upward, and you should find yourself floating above the body.

I think you mean Astral Awakening....
because I have no idea what an astro awakening is...
and some people get that wrong...

....but Astral projection and astral traveling [your astral awakening] are the names given for the esoteric art of being able to project the subtle body / spirit / dream body / astral counterpart, outside the physical body and travel in that vehicle to other realms of existence.

I see the member above me has kindly given you advice to astral projections... but my I suggest that since you do not know what you are doing ....
DO NOT DABBLE IN THINGS YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND!!!!

Please go and get real education on this because there are people/ spirits/ souls who are called astral jumpers who know this art and can easily take control and possess an empty body if one isn't careful when leaving their own...

Removing your spirit from you body is a very enlightening but also very dangerous thing to do if you are not careful.

the internet isn't always the best teacher....

Ame, explains it well but I would not try to do it until you understand exactly what you are doing.

I am a projectioner and there are numerous risks if you don't know what you are doing. As stated previously DO NOT DABBLE IN THINGS YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!

The way i do it is to close my eyes when i'am relaxed and ready to sleep . Then i breath slowly and delibrately slowing my breathing down untill i'am not conscious of it any more . Then i think outside of myself , expanding my consciousness to fill the room . Just think of all the little noises you can hear , and the darkness of the room around you . Then bring all your attention back into your self , do not return to concentrating on breathing , feel your body from the inside . Things will start to move and slide , your extemities will feel like they are not there , or in the wrong place . You may feel like your sinking or floating , you can get many strange sensations at this point . Do not be alarmed by them because you will separate your consciousness from them , ride the feelings . They are your astral feelings , the more you are connected with them the easier it is to get out . Someone above said about the waves , just being aware of these when your falling asleep can be enough to help you slide out .

I highly recommend over sleeping , or setting your alarm to get up early , and drifting back off again , this stage of lucidness can be helpfull sometimes . I think you should try it , theres really nothing to be frightend of , it's fun . When you want to come back to your body think of your feet and you'll be grounded again .

I have been trained since I was about 8 and I assure you that if people know that you are in Astral state they know what they are doing alot can go wrong to to mention what opens up spiritually and some one those things prefer to be left alone.

Firey Tiger , could you tell me more about what can happen to your body when your out of it . I,ve left my body many times while i know somethings in the room , i,am fairly sure nothings tried to get in . I was thinking , could my astral self possess the sleeping body of another person who is also projecting , a sort of body swap , that would be quite a giggle .

No one can get in your body but if a traveller is well versed and trained in this and you are in astral state they can change the astral plane.

Trained Astral work on a more sensitive

Take these together:

* The incredible creative power of the subconscious mind.
* The weak creative powers of the conscious mind.
* The sensitivity of astral matters to thought.
* Spherical vision.
* Left, right sense reversals.

And you have a recipe for total confusion.

As well astral level is more in tuned with the dead and well that is not something you want to mess with if the are negative.

You project your astral body and look around your room. Everything appears normal, but suddenly, you notice the door is on the wrong wall? While looking around, you have seen this door with your rear vision, confusing your natural left, right, brain perspective. The brain can't assimilate this because your frontal perspective, and the position of the furniture, pictures, windows etc, are normal; but the view behind you is reversed. This tricks the subconscious mind into creating a door where it thinks it should be. When you look at this door, it appears real, even though you know it is in the wrong place. Once it has been created, it will not be un-created, as that would be unacceptable to your conscious mind. i.e. solid doors don't normally have a habit of vanishing before your eyes.

When you turn to where the door really should be, you will, usually, find the door there as normal. Now you may have two, or more, doors where there should only be one. If you go through the real door, you will find the rest of the house, as it should be, hopefully. But, if you go through a false door, the mind knows it's false and won't accept it opening to a normal part of your house that it knows can't possibly be there. So, if you open this door you will find something else. It is usually a corridor or passage, you don't have, and leading off into other parts of the house you don't have either.

From then on, if you go through this door, you are in Wonderland, where everything is possible, just not very plausible. What you are doing, in effect, is entering the astral dimension via uncontrolled creation, through this door you don't have, but now do. Once the subconscious mind starts creating like this it continues to do so at a geometric rate. It has to, for the conscious mind to assimilate the abnormal situation it is in. At some stage, in this creative maelstrom, the subconscious mind loses it completely and starts tuning in to other parts of the astral. At this point of the projection, all semblance of reality is lost and you fade into the astral dimension proper.

There are many ways this "Alice" effect can happen during a projection; the above example is just one variation. It has been noted by many projectors that at sometime during a projection they seem to lose control of it. Objects appear, disappear, and generally everything gets a little strange. This is caused, basically, by the subconscious mind's vast creative ability being triggered. It starts making and unmaking things, and tuning into other areas of the astral and generally making everything difficult for the poor projector.

To avoid the above problem: Concentrate on what you are doing while you are projecting and don't let your mind wander. The vision reversal problem can be minimized if you concentrate on your forward vision during projection, i.e your vision and don't allow it to flit from one view to another. The astral is not a good place to relax if you have serious plans.

There are cds you can get to guide you through deep relaxation and even Itunes apps that you can get to help. Some cost, some free.

I don't feel you have to pay a lot though or go to a lot of trouble. I used a cassette tape once and it was a past life regression tape and it worked simply by relaxing and going through some steps mentioned on the tape. I don't remember what they were. Was simple and not a bunch of face this way and that stuff. ;)

Fiey Tiger , i know what your on about , this happens to me alot , if i begin to loose focus on what i,am doing quite often the projection will fade back into dream with my subconscious filling in the gaps , but i,am still very aware of whats happening . I find it hard to stay on the astral for any real length of time without this happening . I,am always much more focused if i get out , do whatever , and return to my body a short time later .

What sort of things do you do when your out ? what are you main area's of exploration on the astral / dream realms ? Hope you don't mind me asking all these questions , i'am just really interested . I'll message you privatley if you don't want to discus it in the forum .

My first awakening was due to my astral when I was reading one holy book and that time thinking over excessively, I was in half sleep mode on my bed my eyes was closed but my conscious was different what I can not narrate or give stress to my mind presently I am weak and I saw my self laid on bed. This I saw from different angels. This realized me that my self is other than my body. This was the first incidence of my start of awakening. And for other knowledge I am gathering the information here.

yeah... that's not astral... many people mistake dreams for astral also... if you ever feel like ur "waking up" at one point or another it's a dream or a vision... [for posts in the future, cuz I get that A LOT from people....mentioning them waking up...or coming back to consciousness...lol]

^ a plane is indeed different then our material bodies but an OBE is done on real time and an Astral projection has no time line, time is suspended in a way.
to whomever asked me what i tend to do while projecting most often then not I am working on past life regression! :)

Thanks for giving me knowledge and I grew upon this and will think over this. and please tell me the realm if time is not binding to astral projection then what about distance and dimension? are they suspended too? and if yes then to what extent?

I'm so disappointed in FierTiger's resonse.
I had no knowledge of what happened that first time: so I tried to emulate it.. and succeeded.

No 'projectionist' helped me .. [a term I've never heard of, in thirty off years of interest in such a field] and my learning was part of my own journey, my own path.

There's noway another could direct that journey and, to intimate as such truly disappoints me..

I think the term "astral plane " is really misleading , it not a plane , it,s not flat ( i dont think ) . It should be the astral amorphous anti-space or something like that . I,am in a silly mood so i,am going to explain it in silly terms . As far as i can tell it has no boundary except for the ones that exist in your own mind . There's no need to cross through space/time to get to another destination , A and b are not joined by a route , travel between points can be reached instantaneously simply by moving your surroundings . Think i,am in my bedroom , Doesn,t the sky look wonderful tonight ( and you'll be sat on the roof) , Doesn't the world look small from up here ( and you'll be floating in space ) You move location into your experiential bubble . It,s the same when you phase , you view the other side and your there . If you think i,am going through that wall , you've acknowledged that there is a wall , you,ve created a barrier , it,s much easier if their is no wall . Speed on the astral is created by how fast you can move your surroundings past you , or how fast you can create the illusion of speed , imagine things whipping past you create the sensation of the wind on your face the more intense you can do this the faster you feel your going . Time is also governed like this , slowing things down like bullets in the Matrix is created by stretching things out and adding space between things . If speed is created by adding one moment to the next as quickly as possible until things become a blur then slowness is achieved by you becoming slow yourself . move yourself slowly through things , create time in the moments between things be more aware of your movements through time /space .

Well astral plane is true reality as real as our materialistic plane. And astral plane is different from the astral projection.

Astral projection for newbies starts from imageries and vision. You may ride on flying carpet first to the sky or fly wingless in the sky with the grown subconscious. After some minutes you will feel vibrations and scents and air of the places and g forces of variation within few days. This will lead you to real astral plane in dream housing in sleep mode. When you sleep you either fall on astral plane or if conscious is not powerful enough then fall to dream plane. So please develop first grown imagery with grown senses to that subject. This is only way to start astral projection. If you have developed subconscious then you can even start aura seek too.

maybe it's just me, but I read too many people here wanting to limit the experience of others, as they talk of their own.. expand your experience, safely; and if you experience the Astral Plane, I hope your experience is as positive as mine was.

heck, less of the negativity eh!?!

personally, i am in the pagan lifestyle and i think that is a lil far advanced. i think it would be wise for you to take smaller steps into learning these things. :)

There are three types of awareness. These are Gross Conscious, Subconscious ness and Unconscious. Gross Conscious is person active state. Subconscious ness is half sleep mode mind state. Unconscious is total sleep mode dreamless.

Now I tell you my experience.

For astral projection when we create imagery just like swirl self or fly in the clouds or ride on cloud, it grow little subconscious. When this is grown regularly the subconscious is expanded at the time of gross awareness of active time person. Try to dip self from high up the sky to down earth very fast or fly in the sky. Once you are habitual of this few days and simultaneously at that time try to fly visited places such as beach or hill areas if beaches are not nearby. Fly as you like at your desired velocity. Your senses will catch the scents and vibrations of g forces of speed and height variation at the time of flight. This is the start of expansion of subconscious at the time of Gross awake conscious. This will lead your awareness maintain gross conscious in dream state too. Then first you will experience astral in sleep mode (dream state).

Now I tell you what is dream state: Dream state is the state where when conscious and subconscious both are strong, the person falls to real planes of astral such as earth at any time in present past or future. But even watching the astral you are awake that you are live and experiencing this. But when conscious and subconscious is not strong, your mind will create the world of dream where only dreams are followed. When you by the time of dream state you powerful, then after period you will be powerful enough to developed clairvoyance and can astral in day time too. But long ago after experiencing this astral in dream state, I left the exercise. So I could not develop day time astral. One more thing when you left this exercise, the art will go after couple of month. But why you will leave this relaxing exercise? Rest you do and experience.

One tip: do this when you sat on chair in very comfortable position so that your trunk, neck and head is aligned this will make your all seven charkas aligned. Aligned charka makes this exercise powerful.

Honorable Moonbubble too is right by its mathod, different commune get into it by different methods. I have developed my own method after the experience of meditation and after teh discusssion with my one friend and took guidance from her. she was very good in leading to vision work. I grew upon that.

I would do much more reasearch before playing around with such things... as some people have mentioned their interest of the subject for years.... because leaving your body in any form has it's risks...

it's the same thing as leaving home with the door unlocked. Not saying you are guarenteed to get robbed, but if someone knew you left something behind unguarded, they have no problems taking advantage of your ignorance and stupidity.

Just realize that leaving the body isnt just for fun.

I am interested in an actual place within 'the Plane'.
Somewhere it seems both I and others have accidentally arrived at. I would describe it as a large Square Quarry in a light colored rock, a river nearby and paths leading to the Quarry, surrounded by trees and one Large Old tree in the centre. Is this familiar to anyone?
Of course, this may just be coincidence of the imagination, hence this question.

A question that was directed to me ask to what degree are the astral planes limited. In time and dimension they are not, there are two ways to experience astral planes; you can do the plane as if it is the real world, or you can use a alternate plane in this plane you only limit is yourself, time is your play ground, though you are more watching in other times then participating. Just the same with dimension it is endless possibilities the only thing that is capable of hindering you is yourself. I hope that answered your question. If not let me know.
