Hello all,
I just wanted to start this thread to find other ghost enhusiasts on VR.
Most of us have a fascination with vampires and are all about them. Me, I'm all about these spirits of the dearly (and not so dearly) departed. I think some of it stems from an early childhood fear of death and theat moment when I realized that everything I am experiencing in my life will end someday and there would be no more me in this world.
Scared the heck out of me, let me tell you. But, in my adulthood, I started watching movies about ghosts and even started participating in a roleplaying gamed called Wraith: The Oblivion, from the same folks who brought you Vampire: The Masquerade and Vampire: The Requiem.
I'd like to start this thread to discuss anything related to ghosts: their natures, the different types of ghosts, cultural stories of ghosts, ghostly powers, famous hauntings, things of that nature.
Regards,
Michael (aka Charon)
there are those who walk the earth dead they might be but they dont know, there ignorance has doomed them to a world of not ever know who or what they are. these spirits are almost always violent and deseptive.
There's lots of famous hauntings everywhere...ranging from castles, mining towns, brothels, and so on and so forth. Heck...there's even spirits in my appartment. One little boy shows up quite frequently. He's playful and curious, but I keep telling him he needs to go. He just laughs and runs away for a month or so. I can't find it in me to smudge him away though....he's kinda cute. Like the little brother I never had.
I have a thread called "Lore" where stories are being shared...
If you are ever in Kentucky for some strange reason a kewl place to check out is the Waverly Hills Sanitorium, i have been on the paranormal tour there many times and it is alot of fun. You really see some crazy things there.
IN San Diego, we have the Whaley House in Old Town. Build in the mid-1800s on the site of the haning of Yankee Jim Robinson. HUng for the theft of a schooner.
But supposedly, it's THomas Whaley's daughter and wife and who knows who else that's haunting that place these days. I went there one day (during the day of course). Unfortunately, I'm not sensitive at all to the supernatural, so I miss out on all "spder-sense" tingling, visitations, and manifestation stuff that happens.
all i know about the spirit world is that the diminison of the spirit world is much different from ours, more faster actually... as about expierences, i had some actually myself, but im not that scared anymore now..
there are some here in va.dc. and md ive been to most so if you want to know more hit me up
some spirits are evil or do not know that they are dead but i truely think that some have unfinished business they have to do or something that needs resolved. my daughter's father died several years ago and he is in my house there have been several people that did not know him ask me who i know that wears cowboy boats and i just laugh i feel he is here protecting her
My grandmother firmly believed in spirits and "haints" (ghosts), as well as the power of dreams. I believe there are spirits out there; as to what they are, I don't know. Sometimes I know they're evil -- I can sense it. But other times I just know something's there. I have more stories in my journal if anyone wants to read them.
i believe in ghosts cause i think i have encountered a few and im pretty sure one inhabits my house
I think they contact the living to get their jobs done before they can move on in peace
Charon, I grew up in Rancho Santa Fe in north county, San Diego - moved up here just 4 years ago...and my second ghost encounter was at the Whaley House.... and there is the Horton Grand in downtown and the Hotel Del Coronado.. the Horton Grand - so much to experience in the hallways there....
ive got a couple in the house im in now it was built in 1934 and its soo awesome yes i love a good ghost hunt
One would be a fool if one did not believe in the spirits. They are all around us. Just a few of the fortunate or un fortunate depending on what or who we find ourselves face to face with. er.. as it were. But I believe that they have something to teach us, something that needs to be completed. My wife has taken pics of places and other things show up in the pics as well... cant question that.
The thing I enjoy watching the most is a show called "Most Haunted" where they take u into some of the "most haunted" sights around the world. These sights have alot of activity, however the expectations of the people in these places are what cause the hauntings to continue to become more powerful in nature. You see everywhere i go there are spirits that i sense. It is peoples fear and expectations that gives these spirits the energy they need to do things that people feel are frightening. It is all based on the energy you provide these entities that gives them their strenght to cause physical effects in this world.
Aridai u hit the nail on the head playa. But r u sayin' that if we believe and fear these spirits that they intensify their existance?Demons exist whethter we believe them or not.
most of you are all about vampyres, but hardly know anything about them!
the highest majorety of the members of VR [including the prince.] are not vampyres.
if you are going to have something that you adore so dearly, like vampyre enthusiasts, then know more about them!
we dont fly, we dont physicaly change into another animal.
and about ghosts...well, i know some spells for talking to the dead...however the closest time that would be easiest would be during Samhain. the last time was the spring equinox.
Stories have been told, spells have been done, proof has been presented...there are ghosts, some of them the souls of those who died violently, some of them are the ones who don't know they died...The fact is they exist...but what do they really want? Revenge? A way out? Answers? Are we able to provide them with any of that answers?
individual ghosts will stick around for as long as they are remembered . . .
I remember one time a light was going on and off constantly and nobody was around the light switch. This was at my friends house which the land use to be a slave farm back in those days. I've heard stories from them of they have seen the ghosts.

There is an awesome little Inn in Elizabethtown PA that has som of the most interesting ghosts. The Inn is very old and at one time was a refuge for weary travelers...Some of the travelers have never left.
I picked up a rather interesting EVP at the Owen County Indiana Cemetary. It was a very weak, female voice that said "They are coming"...
It was recorded with a basic Sony cassett recorder...
I wonder if this "they" are possibly the reson for all of the disturbances and if so what/who are "they"? Any theories?
Hm, my mom sees ghost in our house. She thinks we have some spirits hanging aroud.
Where I live, the Capitol building and the local high school are reputed to be haunted, and we have a little ghost cat we see from time to time in our apartment.
i understand you 100%
i feel sprits are here all the time.. we are among the dead everyday.. and dont even know it.. i think ghost do walk around until they have been reincarnaed into something else.
i could tell a few stories...most would take forever but i won't get into that for the sake that 99.99 % of ghost stories are fiction until proven otherwise. I have encountered 2, one being a member of my family...the other was in an old abandoned jail tower where they supposedly hung prisoners.
I am very much into ghost and spirits. I love to try and contact them. I am very sensitave to them. I can feel when spirts or ghost are in an area. But I must say it is a good subject manner and I'm sure there are alot who like the subject.
I know I have amny a ghost tale
I've never had an experience with a ghost or spirit so i guess i really don't have much to tell you. It always seems that the older the city or building the more ghost stories seem to trun up.
malta's old capital city mdina is full of such stories, and yes i do feel a lot of activty, and im not the only one whom feels it.... even the building is gloomy and in some occasions clear shadows where seen.... its not surprising giving that the city was under assult a lot of times in the past... so a lot of people had died there eventually....
I have a few bones to throw so to speak. I am a Paranormal Researcher AKA>Ghost Hunter as one of my Hobbies. There are three major classifications of Spirits one is the Spirit Helper, these are Spirits who have never tasted mortal life and are in charge of watching over us much like a guardian angel...ine is a recorder that records all we do the other is a warrior who is to protect us. the next type of spirit is the human spirit which is the weakest of all, there are many spirit types that fit this classification way to many to list here and then last but not least the MIS these are spirits that have the power to affect the physical world, basically they are demons on entitys. the dead do know they are dead and as a matter of fact they have feelings the same as they did while in this life......if you have ever seen the movie ghost it is very similar to that....hope this helps any questions or comments feel free to contact me. The Wraith.
ok, i used to live in georgia...well, when this took place i did...lol
i lived w/ my uncle...me and my dad
4 cousins, and aunt too
character list:
Misty (oldest...17 at time.)
Courtney (second oldest...15 y/o at time.)
Travis (2 years older than i, he was about 12.)
and
ME (i was about 10...maybe 9.)
--also includes the youngest cousin Peyton, he is the second victem.--
well, one of my dads friends in north georgia was going to sell his car to my aunt...
so she was supposed to drive up to his house to get the car, and my dad was going to drive her car back to my uncles house.
well, we were waiting for a few hours, and she should have been there by then...
so me and my dad decided to drive down the highway to see if we could see her car on the other side coming up.
we didnt,,,and, we got the worst phone call in our history!
anknown kind man called my dads cell phone, after calling for rescue.
my aunt had his a mudflap from a truck and lost control of her car, sending her fliping 6 times down the left bank of the highway...
(the two sides of the highway were separated by a big ditch w/ a fest in it...lol)
so, she died, the front corner of the car had inplanted into her head...
the man that saw and stoped went through her purse to find a number to call...fortunately, my dads cell was first that he saw!
we rushed to the hospital, and i heard her mother screaming w/ agony. i wanted to cry in the waiting room...
well, a few weeks later, it was her only son's birthday, thats when the ghosting began...
we were sleep, me, misty, travis, courtney, and peyton.
Peyton's door was open b/c it was just us home alone. the parents went to the store, and were awkwardly gone for 3 hours...
so, we were lying down to go to sleep, talking...and then we heard peyton talking..."stop it mommy, stop, it tickles mommy!"
and he would giggle
travis was always afraid of the dark. and we lived in the middle of the woods, and there were tons of coyotes in there....so travis didnt know what to think, and he thought he saw brandy's ghost...
the end
lmao
