I have begun doing to EVp recordings and I would like to know what are the best types of recording equipment to use and what is the best software to pull the "voices" out of the recording. I have been using a basic Sony recorder and just using the naked ear to pick out the "voices" but I know for scientific purposes I will need better equipment before submitting anything to the NGHS.
The best i have found is with computers..
my attic is super haunted so to get all the sounds we are looking for ill put one laptop upstairs with the mic on super sensitivity with cool edit open and recording (high volume)..
and aol im voice chat open..
then have another laptop downstairs connected to the other aol im voice chat with cool edit recording and have them both recording at the same time so i can see exactly what is going on upstairs while im downstairs..
which leaves more room for the spirits to wander..
i have recorded EXCELLENT sounds this way..
if anyone is curious to hear aim me and ill show u..

Like in the Movie White Nosie ????? This is interesting, you can really record the voices of the dead or is it old radio waves boucing back???
so you mean that old radio waves are sitll bouncing around??!
yes Paulo the ones like they hace sent into outter space those waves.....
we have had a series of murders around my city and one guy claims to have EVP tape from one of the victims taped from where she was killed....but the cops aren't taking it seriously
but i'm not sure about good methods
I think just get a highly sensitive mic
wow
you may not learn something new everyday
but i learned something new today!
thank you!
What type of equipment you use depends on if your Out doors or in doors sometimes I use a digital mic set to pick up high frequencys. Just remember if you have alot of items that use batterys and you most likely will a strong spiritual energy from the spirit can cause your equipment to go dead...Its happened to me before.
Mikhali, yes you can record voices. I have experimented with EVP myself. I used a voice activated digital recorder with build in mic, and then a friend of mine used a program to filter all the white noise away. These are the best items in my experience and they are not to expencive and easy to come across.
Just be careful, you might not like what you get.
Nianna I dont think I would do this myself but the concept is interesting...I well have enough on all burners not to go inviting something I'm even more unsure then myself right now.....
I usually go to the source instead of letting it come to me. You are wise mikhali but EVP is less dangerous than for instance Ouija boards, but still I say, leave the dead alone, if they want you to mend in their buisness or if they want to contact you, they will do so on their own, one way or another.
I tend to agree Nianna..I have had the dead come to me in the past....I dont use Quija for the same reasons I dont want uninvited guests..I have enough to haunt me now without adding the new burden of that......
